Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

Dorne was shit in the books also. Same for the Sand Snakes. The writers also invented Hardhome, and that's considered one of the best episodes of the entire series.

Oh I didn't realise that.

I haven't actually gone as far in the books yet. I've been having a friend of mine fill me in and he hated the Sand Snakes in the show and much preferred the books version. /shrugs.

Well...

they're less shit in the books, and Dorne isn't nearly as bad in the books.

Hardhorne happened in the books too, Jon just wasn't there. It was only mentioned in passing.

The weak areas were the parts that the writers invented. That's what i'm concerned about.

Tbh they weren't given a whole lot to work with. It was based on the weakest of the books and I think they ran into problems getting the timelines of different stories to synch. Wasn't an easy thing to adapt.

He's complaining about people linking videos on the Caf, when to see spoilers you need to do all the work yourself by clicking into Youtube rather than just playing the video in the thread, and go scrolling through comments. That's not anyone's fault but the person clicking through into Youtube and scrolling through comments. Nobody here can police Youtube comments, and Youtube comments weren't posted in the thread so it doesn't come near to breaking any spoiler rules.
When did I even complain about people linking videos on the caf or about policing of youtube comments by the mods here? You seem to have misunderstood something.. I just wanted to warn posters that even after the show has caught upto the books, there are spoilers out there which people need to be careful about if the want to avoid them.. Just because my comment was below the video you posted it doesn't mean I was saying that about the video you posted.. I didn't even notice that I posted after you till I read your comment..

Fair enough, that seems like common sense to me so I misunderstood it. Thought you were asking people to be careful when posting videos. My mistake.

Everyone hated the sand snakes in the show.

Promotional Poster for the new season has been released by HBO. Be warned this may contain spoilers.

Seriously, it's a complete spoiler, turn back now if you don't want to know.

Shit.

I replied to tell you thanks for the second spoiler which made me think better of opening it. When I quoted your message I saw the poster!

Hadn't realised that would happen, edited the post to tell people not to quote it if they don't want to see.

@Damien & co, is this something that can be looked into so spoilers stay un-spoiled when quoted?

I'd say probably not because when you quote, what we're seeing is the actual bb code used to quote or spoiler in the first place.

It's my own stupid fault. I should have known it would happen.

To be fair the poster has been tweeted by GOT twitter account, is being reported by a lot of news outlets including NME website, so doubt people will escape being exposed to it.

Yeah and it's almost so obvious that it isn't if you get what I mean. It doesn't really mean anything.

How can it be a spoiler when it's the promo ad from the makers of the show? I thought spoilers (in the context of this thread) is stuff that isn't known to the viewing public i.e. book info, leaked episodes etc
As I understand it, anything outside of aired episodes is a spoiler, even if it's from official sources. So technically that promo picture is not allowed, even in spoiler tags. It's in the spoiler policy. I would advise @Duffy to take that down, just to be safe.

Its gone, but reckon its going to be everywhere over the coming weeks, so it will be hard to avoid.

Correct.

Dont come in here then
The point of the spoiler policy is that people who want to discuss anything about aired episodes, and only that, have safe threads to do that in. If you have a problem with the policy take it up with the mods, but don't tell me to stay out.

TBH, not being able to post official trailers and promo spots (even without spoiler tags) is a bit OTT, but I guess thats the way its been dictated :P

The season finished almost half a year ago, hurry up and watch it ffs

hehe theres always one

It wasn't about the previous season, which is obviously perfectly ok to discuss here.
It was about a promo picture for the upcoming season which was slightly spoiler-y. I'd seen the picture already as someone had liked it on Facebook but I just answered a question about the spoiler policy here.

I only follow the TV series and don't really read much about it so probably couldn't even spoil anything if I wanted to yet I feel scared coming into this thread because I don't want to get banned. Here's a spoiler for you. Click it if you dare you bloody nerds.

Phil Mitchell wins the Game Of Thrones

But that seems silly. For a new show, anything more than its title and a synopsis would therefore be a 'spoiler'. Are bus/ tube posters spoilers? What about an advert on TV? This thread gets ridiculous at times.
