Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

^Good post @DouLou

Cerceis performance was great. From trying to be proud, to being embarrased, to hurt and humiliated whilst bleeding to totally breaking down.

I actually did miss Littlefinger and his plotting and scheming and changing of accents.

It went on for too long though imo. I know its probably a character defining moment but it was a bit much.

Yeah, could've probably been cut down by a minute or two, especially since it was a pretty packed episode.

There was literally no other way to make the audience think "I hope she gets revenge". Great face turn imo.

The walk was handled quite well. It's a fairly realistic way for medieval sexist zealots to try and punish women. Lena Headey gave a great performance too.

It went on for far too long though - i mean, the depravity/humilation/awfulness was apparent and established after the first half of it - it's not like we got any more out of the scene the longer it went.

Well at least we already have our first odd couple selection for the plodding first 6/7 episodes of next season....

Step forward Ser Friendzone StoneAids and Beard Man. I wonder what japes and scrapes they'll get into...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Brienne is such a waste of space, does feck all standing outside of Winterfell half the season as Sansa gets the Bolton treatment, then as soon as Stannis gets rekt she pops up for a cheap killsteal.

This was a very poor season the more I think about it. Like genuinely shit, apart from the 'Hardhome' episode which was fantastic. I think I'd rather just rewatch that episode 10 times than rewatch the whole season.

At this rate the White Walker invasion can't happen soon enough, whereas previously it was something I was happy was on the backburner, while we had the intrigue of all the different families vying for power.

They really do milk the shit out of the two blokes/people are going on a journey storyline...

Sounds like you just don't like the show, maybe best to stop, save your energy for something you'll like?

The more I think about it the more ridiculous the finale gets. Arya spends half the series washing bodies and all of a sudden she can use a face and become a super assassin out of nowhere?

I know what you mean. With all of the different stories, I felt like I had missed out an episode or two for each character.

Yeah I didn't get that either. Completely out of the blue. I had no idea what the faces were about either, I thought they were a magical device but it looked like she put it on?

Also how the feck did Melisandre get to Castleblack about 3 minutes after Ser Davos did?

She acted beautifully, I agree. And it's in them books. But you could just tell how much they loved making it. Or at least, that's the reaction they got from me. So I'm no longer playing.

True, although this is the case for every controversial scene in the show.

@DouLou

It might also be a case that perhaps Melisandre was telling Stannis what he wanted to hear?

Yeah that's certainly a possibility. I'd still rather they were playing the long game with her visions though, but yeah as soon as I'm willing to accept that a woman can look in a fire and see the future I'm also willing to except the possibilities that either a) She can't read fire very well or b) she's a liar.

Although as I was looking for Melisandres quote I came across this -

Arya Stark: You're a witch! You're going to hurt him!
[Melisadre turns to Arya. She grabs her chin and looks at her closely]
Melisandre: I see a darkness in you. And in that darkness, eyes staring back at me. Brown eyes, blue eyes, green eyes. Eyes you'll shut forever. We will meet again.
[Melisandre and her companions leave with Gendry. Arya is confused]

How's that for foreshadowing?

Yeah, I quoted that earlier when someone posted the youtube video.

I think her betrayal of Stannis if i'm honest if more linked with her meeting Jon Snow than anything. It's been hinted a fair bit this season that she thought Stannis 'power' was withering.

IIRC Dennis Penis was into getting resurrected by LOL after a few blade wounds. I'm hoping that the remaining Starks turn to the dark side with Melisandre and their acquired magical skills.

I think Sansa and Theon will have been saved by the deep snow that has fallen now it is winter.

The show has gotten daft now but it was always going to once the magic and dragons happened. I don't think the 10 show format can handle the vastness of the story although the writers have meandered too often this season.

But meh, it is the only thing I look forward to watching on TV these days.

Seems that way... so then why did she make him kill his daughter? Shiggles?

Ah well, Davos was heading through the snow whereas Mel had already melted it before she left. Makes perfect sense I'm sure. :)

So the snow has melted but Theon and Sansa will no doubt have been saved because they landed in some thick snow, ok.
