Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

Last week the Wildling woman got killed after telling her daughter she'd join her on the boat soon. This week Shireen got killed after Ser Davos told her they'd be meeting up again soon. It's all been very 'Hollywood'. Next week Brienne and Stannis are going to fall in love after hating each other initially.

The unsullied are extremely poor at organising stadium security. I expected much more from them.

You know the harpy are just a bunch of angry average citizens none of them are trained in fighting. When faced with that position of potentially facing death. They shit themselves like any other non solider.

Shit themselves? They've been taking out unsullied like it's going out of fashion and up until the point they had her surrounded showed no signs of being the slightest bit worried.

Tbf if I was in that situation I'd probably hang back and let someone else front up to the trained killers too. Ser Friendzone and the smug warrior guy had already killed more people than all the Unsullied combined at that stage, feck that.

Way too much emphasis put on hand-holding in that last scene...greyscale epidemic just around the corner me thinks.

No, this exploded on twitter last night. Apparently you have to touch the infected part and also Targs are immune to most diseases.
Where did we learn that Targaryens are immune to diseases? I don't remember that from the shows?
Also don't remember when we were told in the shows that you have to be touched by an infected body part? Didn't Shireen get hers off a doll?
Needs answering

Neither of those have ever been mentioned in the shows, Ramshock is incorrect.
So that would make it... book information?

Speaking of which...

This.

I would also add when Dany closed her eyes right before Drogon arrived. "By the power of love and friendship - I summon you, Drogon!"

... and the completely amateurish Unsullied, running around in no formation whatsoever. What the hell is the point of being armed and trained like a legionary/hoplite if you just end up jogging around with your spear once the fighting starts. And why do they insist on using spears in close combat? I think I remember it specifically being said in the books that they also have short swords for close combat, which makes so much more sense.

... and Ramsey and his "20 good men". The term "Good men" must be the Westeros equivalent of "Super duper elite Mossad Ninja-agent". I suppose they all god away completely unharmed. Ramsay is apparently one of the most resourceful people in Westeros :

1) Invincible fighter (when fighting the ironborn)
2) Expert geographer (you know, he knows the area around Winterfell like his own backyard, even though he is from the Dreadfort, which is miles and miles away),
3) Able to sneak wherever he wants
4)The best torturer there is,
5) Deep understanding of human psychology and behaviour, the way he's able to control people and read their minds, and predict their behavior.

... and how did the son of the harpy Jorah threw his spear at manage to sneak up to around 1 meter away from the goodamn queen? Why were the Unsullied standing around in small groups of 2-3 all over the arena instead of protecting the queen WHEN THEY ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF A GODDAMN CIVIL WAR/REBELLION AND THEY HAVE A MASSIVE CROWD OF UNKNOWN PEOPLE AROUND THEM?

Argh.
GET THE F*CK OUT OF HERE

Better?

Please go away Pierre. You're literally the worst person right now. I can't even look at you.

Now we know unsullied carry a knife and are still getting killed cheaply which makes them even more shit. This has ruined the whole series including next season as well.

I'm sure they have, that doesn't mean Ramshock's info was from people who'd read the books though, they could've been full of shit, we've no idea if it was in the books or not.
I'd imagine info as specific as that has to come from the books. The Targaryen bit anyway.

We all know that when Dany and her army show up in Westeros, the Unsullied will suddenly be this all-conquering fighting force that they have been hyped up to be.

I do think that in guerilla warfare they seem to suck, secondly consider that Dany also bought all the Unsullied who were still in training and not fully unsullied - partially-sullied, if you will - so it may be that some of those we see who are shit are the trainees. I dunno.

You don't need to read their faces to see that they've been merciless and mauling everyone who stands in front of them, at no point did any of their actions look worried, even when the dragon showed up they stood around throwing spears.

It's a shame more people haven't seen The Neverending Story.

The Dragon riding thing is hilarious and seems really out of place with all the grim/gritty medieval stuff we get subjected to. Still, lightened the mood after that child sacrifice I guess.

I agree, the shocks seem more for shock sake now than plot development. I'm sure Stannis, this great commander we are continually told, has faced worst.

I think the tv writers have really taken over now. Still, I think a lot of people will rate this season (or the early part at least) as the worst, but at least the Dorne storyline now threatens to bring the politics back.

Pretty sure you said that before, and to answer, emm, no.
