Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

Is anyone worried that Tyrion will literally take the entire season to make it to Daenerys? I think it could be one of those long, drawn out adventures. The sooner he gets there, the better.

I dunno... I'd quite like to see the Dothraki again.

It was interesting for the first 2 seasons. Now it's boring.

Yeah, cos Season 1 she got her dragons. Ok cool.
Season 2 she built her army. Ok that was needed.
Season 3... erm.
Season 4... yeah still waiting lol.
Now season 5 and she still has no urgency to take over.

Or hes looking for her, and she keeps moving, but keeps moving in the opposite direction like she has done since season 3 haha

She would need to saddle her dragons and ride to King's Landing to the tune of Ride of the Valkyries to redeem interest in her story at this point...

I did a bad thing and downloaded the leaks. Started episode 1 but the quality was too poor and I switched it off to download episode 1 in HD. Pissed my wife off massively haha. She's not as fussy with me with quality and was up for watching all 4 episodes.

Episode 1 wasn't great and episodes 3 (especially) and 4 are bad copies.
But the episode 2 leak is very good quality.

You could perhaps earn back some brownie points by watching 2 with her and waiting for 3 and 4!

Kind of over this show. Some of the plot lines seem to drag on interminably, and half the episode is to watch only moderately attractive people ponce about naked. Episode 1 of this season was just never ending man buttocks.

Daenerys is going to fanny about until the end of time, making her sanctimonious little speeches, and there'll be several more instances of torture porn at King's Landing to grimace through.

Can't be bothered getting attached to any characters because if I do, they'll inevitably die a horrible death.

You'll be back. They always come back.

Could someone tell me how many advert breaks the US airing has? I'm tempted to stay up and watch the simulcast broadcast on Sky Atlantic but I don't want to be seeing an advert every 10 minutes.

I don't think HBO have adverts as its revenue is made through its subscribers so none?

Oh cool! Might just stay up then.
Although having said that, didn't Sky put some ads in last week's episode? And the GoT listing in the EPG is scheduled to run for 65 mins when there's only 53-55 mins of content so they might slip in some ads.

Hafþór Július Björnsson a.k.a. The Mountain won the first two challenges today in the opening day of the World's Strongest Man 2015. He's fully expected to be the 3rd Icelander to get that title.

For dinner yesterday he ate 1,7kg of meat and a cheesecake for desert.

How come the Harpie guy was supposed to get a fair trial but the slave council member got executed without one? Thought that one was odd.

Fine episode overall. Starks are looking good.

Brilliant episode. When Stannis offered Jon lordship over Winterfell and a decree to officially make him Jon Stark I was fist pumping, but alas, he turned it down and is now Lord Commander of the Nights Watch. Seeing Jaqen H'ghar again was so fecking awesome although I was kinda spoiled on that because at one of the premieres he was on the red carpet giving interviews, the actor, that is.

I guess there would be no point in a trail because his guilt was already established. He admitted to Dany that he killed the Son of the Harpy.

The whole Harpy thing seems like a filler story just to show her reign is not all smooth sailing. Like the season 2 crap of the house of the undying.

The stupid thing was making a public spectacle out of his execution. There's only one way this could've turned out.

I worry that they are going to spend a whole season on that storyline and it's only in the last episode that Tyrion and Varys finally meet Dany.

Good episode overall, high point is that Bronn is back.

The Arya story is the best story of the show. Disappointed Snow turned down the opportunity to be the King of the North.
What's the point of Brienne now? She just going to stalk Sansa now waiting for Bailish to be a dick?
Excited to see Jamie's story now. Want to see more of Oberyn's family and their land.

Delighted Jaqen H'ghar is back. Him and Arya's scenes were some of my favourites in past seasons. But I'm still not really feeling Dany's scenes at all, the whole murder/execution plot of the last two episodes just feels like pointless filler, it's not progressing her story in any meaningful way. I hope Tyrion gets to her sooner rather than later to liven things up a bit for both of them. Overall, was a decent episode.

I'm really struggling not to watch the next episodes before they air!!

Current episode have a bit of everything I like in GoT... Tyrion's hilarious negativity in as always some brilliant dialogues, another political lesson for Daenerys, Jon Snow being in center of everything despite being modest, Jaime's back to business plus Arya and H'ghar reunited which was long awaited combo.

Good start of what it may be a quality season. Tempted as hell now by the leaked episodes... damn internet.

"...and you will rise as Jon Stark" FUUUUUUUU

Great episode...wish John had accepted the offer. Took the ending to be Drogon smelling the loneliness and fear on Khalise and took off over the city to restore her sense of power - although there may be a chance he could have sensed she was powerless and ran away once again, but I doubt the latter.

Yeah I have a feeling he was almost checking in and protecting her, as most sons would with their mothers. Once he knew she was ok he flew off to eat some more goats.

What were the 4 names Arya was saying? I think I got 3 of them:
Cercei Lannister
The Mountain
Walder Frey
???

Excellent episode that, it went literally all over the world, and stuff actually happened and developed:

  • The show totally broke the two people talking at a time mode this week... a ton of scenes had loads of people in it and actually conversing across each other! Grand stuff.
  • Cersei actually did something bar whinge and moan! (even if that's how she did start the episode) So that was nice... really liked the scene with the Kings "cabinet"... surely the head of your army is the last person you want to piss off.
  • Something weird's happened... I actually liked Samwell Tarley in this episode, because he wasn't a pathetic sack of shit for a change. Probably the most surprising development of the entire episode...
  • Kinda wish Jon had taken the offer though, Jon Stark sounds ace.
  • Sansa's clearly been hanging out with Little Accents too long, 'cos I swear her voice sounded totally different in this episode... Anyway, glad Brianne is following them, otherwise that would have been a totally pointless half season long story arch.
  • Great scene between Varys and Tyrion, if you want a scene with two people talking, these are probably two of the best now Tywin's kicked it.
  • So... Danery's is a pretty shit queen aye? Really glad they're actually going down this route, as I've thought she's been a bit naff for a while now!
