Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

Great ep. Thought the ending was rather powerful to be honest.

Half expected Mance Rayder to beg for mercy, but we all know Game of Thrones isn't so cliche.

I heard from season 4 onwards she signed a contract saying she doesn't have to get naked anymore.

Some people just want to watch the world burn.

Jon Snow: You're making a big mistake

Mance Rayder: The freedom to make my own mistakes is all I ever wanted.

Ciaran Hinds was fantastic.

I thought it was pretty predictable tbf. I knew from the moment they had their talk in the cell that Jon Snow would do something typically Jon Snow such as that.

Good start, I really liked the opener with mini-Cersei... that girl they got to play her was a great bit of casting. I do start to think she's becoming a bit of a caricature of herself now though, she's doesn't really do anything bar whinge.

Baelish accent was some what consistent... looking forward to seeing what incredible levels of Welsh/Irish/German we'll get this season

I still think Danerys is a bit of a div... apparently in the books she's a teenage girl, which would really make sense for the character... but the way it plays out with Emilia Clark playing the role makes her seem a bit thick... I also don't think her dialogue is written very well at times. Hopefully it'll get better when Tyrion comes to town - all that Tyrion/Varys stuff was grand.

Pointless scene of the week went to She-Ra and Podrick...

Everything at the wall was great... well apart from Samwell Tarley of course, so everything bar Samwell Tarley at the wall was great.

Oh, there was also some tasteful shots to avoid showing penis' in this episode... which is pretty funny when you consider how ready they are to get the tits out (not that I'm complaining!).

Good episode to start things off.

I liked the ending, the scene between Snow & Mance was terrific too. Stanis & Jon will be great to watch this season I reckon. Hopefully they get quite a bit of screentime.

Daenerys' politics bore me, she needs to do something useful this year because I feel her story is getting a bit stale. That said, Tyrion allying with her would make things fun. Also, those dragons are huge! And they looked pissed, I'm not sure she'll be able to control them.

Not sure what the point of the man-beast's scene was. Tyrion & Varys' scenes were excellent. I found it interesting how Varys said he's been plotting for the Targaryens to return to the throne since Robert's time. Pretty much shows how everyone has their own agenda and really can't be trusted at all!

The inevitable power struggle between Cersei & Margaery could be interesting. Otherwise I think King's Landing might be a bit boring this year since the other key characters have either all left there or died! I thought Cersei's cousin was a bit weird.

Hoping to see Arya & some White walkers soon.

Agree with Cersei becoming a bit of a caricature of herself. Same could be said for the dragon queen.

Hopefully there is some movement in their storylines soon...

Eh, I think he suits a more sympathetic character rather than Mance.

Dany and Cersei are annoying/boring.

Good episode, looking forward to the upcoming season..as mentioned previously, Tyrion and Varys story line will be quite interesting....should be one hell of a team...also I am curious to see where Sansa/Petyr plot takes us..I'm curious to see if he takes her under his wing and teachers her how to play the political game and in turn I wonder if its she or the other soon to be queen who takes down Cersi.

Finished watching all 4 episodes. Building up nicely this season for a big bang
I suggest you don't post in this thread then... Nobody wants to know if it's building up nicely to anything, if it's good, bad or anything. Basically only talk about the episode that aired, that's it. Absolutely nothing from anything after, not even saying you liked them. It's for your own good really....

Was an ok start. Think I'm missing some of the characters that have been killed off. Hopefully Daenerys sets the dragons free soon I feel her story needs to move forwards now and they are the most interesting part about her. Will be interesting what happens when Tyrion shows up.

Quite a good episode but as with every first episode it only rounded off last season and started to sew the seeds for this one. Looking forward to each Monday now, which is unusual!

Oh yeh. After rewatching the last episode of season 4...

Anyone else think the Hound is still alive? He never actually died, just left for dead.

Im hoping she plays the game and gets revenge on him turning on her father in season 1

Sansa was always the naive one, but I think she's finally understanding the world and games she has to play to get things her way. Can't see Cersi staying alive for too long though, her storyline isn't going anywhere.

What's the rules on speculation? Should they be spoilered?
You are not allowed to discuss the leaked episodes in ANY capacity in here, as is stated in the op. Anyone who does will be banned from the entertainment forum, as @Damien said.

Episodes that have already been aired on HBO on Sunday nights are free to discuss in here without spoiler tags.

Okay so as I have not read the books, or seen any leaked episodes I'm free to talk about anything without a spoiler tag.

Doesn't the usual rules apply regarding speculation? If he hasn't seen the leaked episodes and hasn't read the books, he can speculate as long as he puts it in spoilers? Or is all speculation completely banned from this thread because of the leaked episodes?

I like question marks. ???????
