Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

So I've been thinking about Shae and Tywin and it just dawned on me what actually must have happened.

I just thought it was face value that she's just being a whore and sleeping with Tywin but does anyone else think that the scenario that might have actually played out is...

1. When she realised Tyrion was no longer her man thanks to Sansa, she made a move for a more powerful man in Tywin to get back at Tyrion.
2. It had been happening before she testified against him in court and this was Tywin's wish and as he knew about her and him, that was his reason for sleeping with her.
3. Tyrion realised she was plotting against him with Tywin and that was obviously a big reason for him to kill her.

Or was it just quite simply that he happened to catch her being a whore in Tywin's bed?

Disappointing episode.

Two great characters gone with The Hound and Tywin. It made no sense that Tyrion could jsut walk around the castle killing people. Where were the guards`? Also why didnt he kill Cersei instead of Tywin? Would have made more sense given what we've seen of actual character interaction in the series. Does Tyrion honestly think Tywin had a choice not to sentence him after that trial? He even had an out lined up for him by sending him north if Tyrion hadnt gone full retard during the trial ffs. Im getting really tired of Tyrion, this was just stupid.

Stannis showing up felt like a deus ex machina light. Yes it was hinted at, but last we saw of him he was far away from the wall, and then for him to just show up and solve the issue is poor writing. How did he get past the wall? If he could just cross with 50k men far to the east or whatever as obvious book readers are suggesting then why didnt the wildlings do the same instead of trying to cross at the chokepoint of Castle Black?

Why were Arya and the Hound still walking around the wilderness. The Hound announced that Arya Stark was at the gates, then the Stark loyal people of the Erie (fck spelling) wouldnt let her in??

I feel like really whiney now but I didnt like this episode at all. Overall this season has been great but didnt like this one.

And I just realised Ive missed first half of Portugal Germany because I was watching GoT  its so addictive this show
Well, his arc has been poorly written throughout so at least they're consistent.

Don't like how Ygritte gets such a nice send-off while other superiors just get their heads chopped off or squished.

I think you need to stop being a butthurt fanboy.

Talk about over reacting, lol. Nobody is butthurt I am just trying to help you understand that the show suggested a bit more problems in their relationship then you feel there are. I mean if you do not want to discuss the show, what are you doing here? Ah feck, obviously you are an ignorant piece of shit, I'll just put you on ignore and stop wasting my time.

Well it's obvious that they had made some sort of deal before she testified in court.

The only question is, was she a plant all along or did she only conspire with Tywin after Tyrion had dumped her?

Yea because criticizing people for having a different opinion and implying it is because I havent "watched well enough" isnt standard fanboyism.

I dont see anything in Tyrion's character that would set him up for killing Shae and Tywin, no matter how poorly treated he feels. Hes never been a cold hearted killer, theres really no reason for him to set out on a silly assassin mission when hes finally gotten his chance to escape. It doesnt make much sense for him to risk the second chance to live that hes wanted so much just to kill his father. If Tyrion had been a rash, unintelligent character up untill this point then I could have bought it, but thats not how the character has been written so far. The person that they have been set up for a real clash with Tyrion is Cersei, with the story Oberyn told him about how she treated him as a baby, how she blindly wanted him killed for Jeoffrey's murder etc. Tywin is exactly the same with his other children as he's been with Tyrion.

The irony

Aww shit. GoT has gone all gay! Skeletons? Weirdass old beardy blokes living in a tree? Weirdass beardy blokes hanging around with a lot of children? Not cool.

Great series though, loved all of it up until the fecking skeletons. Get that shit outta here.

Nope. You asked questions and then proceeded to be a dick when some attempted to answer those questions.

Anyway, rewatched the scene and admittedly it makes more sense than I thought on first view so I can hold my hands up, I was wrong. I thought he had the crossbow when he went into Tywin's chambers as if he were already planning to kill him. But I see that it was less planned and more a reaction / rash decision after seeing Shae there.

Rare you see these words on the Caf these days.

Good finale. Think the only thing I don't give a shit about is Bran and his feckin tree. Other than that it's all left with a lot of questions going into season 5. Plenty of major deaths too in The Hound, Shae and Tywin.

Not really a fan of how Shae and Tyrion were handled, her betrayal seemed so rash. Everything he did was to keep her safe and then she helps convict him and sleeps with his dad? Then on top of that tries to kill Tyrion herself? I guess this might be one of those moments where "Those who shall not be named" might have provided more insight into her thoughts... because it just all seemed a bit out of character to me.

As for Tyrion, his double murder was more a crime of passion than calculated murder. I assumed he went to his Fathers chambers with the idea of confronting him, not killing him. But seeing Shae there and killing her because the silly bitch tried to stab him... he just seemed to be pretty broken by then, and to be honest as calm and logical as Tyrion is Tywin manipulated the whole trial to have him convicted of murder just to he could be rid of him and have Jamie in his pocket again. He was willing to let Tywin be remembered as the man who killed the king, and further than that was willing to let him die for a crime he didn't commit. All whilst boning his lover and turning her against him. I don't find Tyrions actions to be at all unreasonable, even for someone usually level headed.

The whole Bran storyline has peaked my interest a little more now. I'm a sucker for mythical lore and fantasy elements so I'm intrigued by where this is going.

Dragon lady is in the shit now. What's she going to do with dragons she can't control?

Arya was a bit of a bitch to The Hound, I mean the guy was an asshole but I thought she would have showed him some mercy considering what his rubbish life has been like. I guess now we see that compassion isn't going to a strong emotion of hers, I wonder if she was on her way to either become one of the faceless assassins, or cross paths with Dragon lady? Didn't quite get that where she was heading.

All in all a good finale. I wonder what the end game is here though... surely The White Walkers end up being a major feature and the conflicts between men are put aside... either that or a few of the "big players" are taken out of the game before the White Walkers arrive. How feckin' slowly are those things walkin anyways? Shouldn't they be somewhere by now?

What were those skeletons? After watching this season, it is absolutely clear to me that I am losing interest in all the supernatural bit. The dragons/white walkers seem so insignificant when compared to the real drama and the tension that exists between the characters.

Good episode, great fight between the hound and Brienne. Lot of decent moments.

Well, that escelated quickly!

I think that after the trial (the original one, in the throne room), Tyrion was pretty much a broken man. Go back and watch that episode, when Shae goes up to the witness stand - you hear the desperation and plea in his voice when he tells her not to confess against him. It was obvious to me from that point that they were well and truly "done".

The thing of finding her in Tywins bed seemed odd, she didnt seem like the type - fair fecks to Tyrion for going through and nailing the pair of them, rather than doing a Portugal-class bottle job. It was interesting seeing Tywin try to worm his way out of things when Tyrion found him, although you would have thought that he would have heard the commotion in the bedroom from the loo, surely wasnt that far away.

The scene with Daenerys chaining the dragons made me sad :(

Skeletons are stupid.

I expected Stannis to show up north of the wall - it had been mentioned when he got that letter about the north, Melisandre immediately said he must take his army north, and we basically hadnt heard from them since. Obviously they were trying to keep the element of surprise.

Was disappointed to see Arya leaving the Hound for dead - thought she would show a little compassion (unless he turns out to survive and still has a part to play).

Also, nobody has mentioned about the Mountain scene - that crazy lab guy injecting all sorts of shit. Based on what they did with Jaime's hand and the bit when Cersei asked "Will he be weaker?" and the dude said "Oh no!" I daresay he is going to become some sort of half metal crazy monster. Although frankly I would have expected Oberyn to be a bit more thorough with his choice of poison - dont think he has done himself justice if the Mountain survives.

I reckon they won't eventually, it's still building but yeah those Skeleton's were random as feck.

She's a whore, lads.

Yeah, I know they won't be and pretty much will change the whole perspective of GOT when they are regularly active among the others. But at this point, the both worlds seem so disjointed with one dwarfing the other in terms of quality.

I feel like I'm loving this show more and more with every episode. I used to find the storyline at the wall by far the least interesting, but it's really got going this series. Likewise Arya & the Hound's storyline which wasn't one of the stronger ones either, was class this episode.

Waiting for the next episode will be a struggle. Tempted to get the books and make it the first book I've read since SAFs autobiography.

Just finished. Arya saying Valar Morghulis atoned for Oberyn's death for me. :D

Ffs, after all the moaning about killing all the good guys they go and kill off Tywin :(

2 brilliant characters died tonight, and 2 characters I couldn't stand went too. Fantastic finale and I am in love with this programme more than ever.

They mentioned the Skeletons were 'controlled by something'. I imagine it would be closely related the White Walkers, which we still don't know much about.

I don't mind the fantasy element so much though, I like that sort of thing and I've always kind of associated Game of Thrones with it since the show basically opened with the White Walkers... what I do mind is being crossbowed to death by your own son whilst having a shit :(

feckin knew Stannis would arrive up North. That is like the only thing I've predicted right in 4 seasons of GoT!!!

Didn't realise about Shae hooking up with Tywin until the episode finished and I was able to digest it all. That was a freaking brilliant episode. So much to take in!! Brans storyline has progressed nicely too! feck, i'm buzzing

I thought it was a fitting end for Tywin, him being so obsessed with the legacy to die in such a way and before the character had become more grating, even Cersei had grown tired of his family speeches!

Disappointed that someone here "speculated" about Stannis going to help on the Wall, of course, maybe that was a genuine guess but now I highly doubt so. Still, very moving scene with the riders.

That was my speculation and I promise you, I am not a book reader and wasn't spoiled. I mean feck, it was revealed they were going up north to the wall last episode of S3. Surprised they turned up that quickly though, I was expecting it Helms Deep style.

Noooooo no no no not the hound! :(
Im off to eat every fecking chicken in the room as a tribute.

Wait till Sauron shows up. /book spoiler

@Wibble why has this been attributed to me? This is someone else's post?

I posted about a shit soap opera show, you jokingly said it needed spoiler tags, I added spoiler tags with a slightly inaccurate title. And I'm sure you do have a thing for firemen don't you? ;)
