Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

Ruined my night that has.

I refuse to accept that there isn't more twists coming for Tyrion.

Yeah. Bran's a bit pointless too.

Martin loves keeping around the pointless ones while killing off the interesting ones.

Indeed. Bran's power clearly means he may have some sort of great significance to come, but he's just so incredibly boring. He is probably the blandest character on the show, by far - 0 personality. Oberyn is simply a massive loss. Absolutely huge, for me.

A non-gruesome pic of Oberyn and Gregor...

After all, still buddys! #repost from @pascalispunk

Regarding Bran, I watched season one again a while back and I'm wondering if Rickon has powers like Bran.

This scene...

and the one in the crypts where Rickon said he had seen Eddard there in his dreams after he died make me think he's a bit freaky.

Think the guy got third place in some "World's strongest man" competition just before filming started. He might not be the best actor in the world but in terms of physique he is really as good as they could reasonably get for the role.

Does anyone know if they've addressed what happened to Catelyn Stark's uncle and her younger brother (who got married to one of Walter Frey's daughters) after the events of the red wedding? Can't recall them being mentioned at all this season and the season is almost over. Could have sworn that the old man (her uncle) made it out alive, and I thought her brother somehow did as well.

They guy who got married is in the Frey dungeon, I don't think more has been said. Not sure about the other one.

Btw, the story of the white walkers has stalled just like Luke Shaw's deal. What's up with that? This season has been poorly managed by the producers of the show.

Doesn't it every season? feck knows what route they're taking to the wall. Coastal one I imagine. For the scenery.

I actually like the way we only see glimpses of the white walkers here and there. It's almost a tease but I think it has been done as it is, because the rest of westeros are continuing their lives and the battle for the iron throne - basically in denial that the white walkers even exist, let alone pose a threat.

It feels as though once winter does arrive, the white walkers will turn up and everything that came before will pale in comparison. They're like the axe precariously hanging over the whole show.

He has a point though tbf. The monologue from Tyrion about crushing beetles was tedious and we certainly don't need any more time spent on the Gilly/Sam storyline.

I found it an odd choice that there was nothing from Cersei and Tywin in the period between Oberyn announcing himself as Tyrions champion and the fight itself especially given the implications of him dying adding to the discord between the Lannisters and Martells in the first instance.

Yeah I still haven't understood what Tyrion was going on about there? Some have said it was related to the mountain but I can't see it. Certainly wasted time that could have been given to the fight or other characters in the build up.

As for your last sentence, not sure about that. Someone else also mentioned that Martell's cannot blame Lannisters for his death as he himself volunteered. I mean it is similar to him dying doing something else out of his choice, like say going on a hunt.

I remember that bald guy (Varys?) said he will never forget what Tyrion did for the city. We haven't seen him for a while so hopefully he pops out of nowhere, enters Tyrion's cell and tells him of his plan to free him.

That is Lena Headey(Cersei) gouging Pedro Pascal's(Oberyn) eyes. She shared this pic 2 months ago! She gave a hint! Dammit!

@Damien we need instagram support please!

Her brother is a hostage although I'm not really sure who is left to pay a ransom or make a deal with. Her uncle avoided the massacre by going outside for a leak.

I don't mind Samwell Tarly in scenes with others, he comes across as that guy who was too fat to ever go on the field to play football so he instead sat on the internet and now tells everyone how to play, but he can be okay with a couple of lines in between a scene. It's the scenes focussed on him that are shit.

Right, he's basically what your average person would be like in that world.

Perhaps - though I would like to think your average person wouldn't be as fecking stupid! (like leaving the weapon that kills walkers... or leaving Gilly somewhere you knew would be attacked - hearing him moan about that on this weeks episode did my head in)

For my money, your average person is pretty lame.

Great shout, I'd like to see him die a slow death.
From Baelish's talks, it seems he wants to mould him into a future king. He wants to be the puppetmaster and use him to take power. It will be interesting to see if the Vale has the power to enter the battle.

I thought he just wants to persuade the boy outside, knowing full well he'll get killed pretty quickly considering how many friends and relatives he has thrown out of the moon door.

Who would be next in line? Lysa's niece perhaps? What's her name... Sansa?

I am not sure who would be next in power, but it would probably a safer bet to guide the current kid in charge who is harmless and controllable. Baelish described him as a feeble kid who could grow to be strong and powerful.

Btw did anybody else think that Sansa dyed her hair black? or was it just the shadowing in the castle.
