Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

It's cool. Once all the good guys die the less evil bad guys will have to become the new good guys. We need someone to root for after all.

Or we should just back a safe option. Like the Dragons, they just fly around in the middle of nowhere largely doing feck all. I'm gonna root for them. Go Dragons!

Wasn't the whole 'beetle speech' supposed to symbolise man's innate desire to destroy those weaker than himself?

Looks like Ramsay might have a soft spot.

More likely to tell us that there is no justice. The strong destroy the weak and there is no way to understand it or control it. Tyrion was obsessed why his cousin was smashing beetles because he saw himself as those beetles and that "moron" as society.

Realizing how close to death he is right now, he's a man contemplating his own mortality. Why was his cousin killing the beetles? What was the point? So he watched his cousin and studied him, but he couldn't find an answer. His cousin represents death and the beetles, people. Tyrion has watched people crushed en masse his entire life, whole towns and villages destroyed. And to what end? His cousin was the kid with the magnifying glass and Tyrion's turn as the ant is coming. Tyrion wants to think there's some purpose for everything, some purpose for his death, and now, as he faces his own end, he still doesn't have an answer. I thought it was heartbreaking.

Yeah that's what I thought at the time.

I feel literally sick. I have exams in two days and I really can't bring myself to revise. Not as bad as the red wedding but I think I might have to not invest myself so much or I might lose the will to watch it. If Tyrion dies next week I think I might be done with the show. I just can't have a show make me feel like this all the time.

I think his cousin was a metaphor of his dad Tywin who he has never understood. In the end, once again, he used his rock "The Mountain" and crushed another Beetle.

Of course, Tywin (and Cersei) have wronged him in so many ways. He has always managed to swallow all the insults, hide his sadness deep inside and keep going on hoping that someone will understand him. The way everyone betrayed him in the end was the one hit he couldn't take...

If you recall, before the beetle metaphor, he and Jaime discuss the gods' role in human affairs. Tyrion is actually asking "what have i done to deserve this?". It was very sad and i really hope the little guy finds a way to survive.

Is she the wildling Jon Snow shagged? Yeah she's quite fit.

I'm glad she didn't kill Sam's girlfriend in the episode, otherwise we would've been in for weeks of the cnut moping when he found out and he's bad enough as it is.

Listen pal. Your post clearly implies major spoilers and it's ridiculous to argue otherwise. I have private messaged an admin and I regret to inform you I have requested a thread ban. To be quite honest, you're lucky it's not a site ban.

Literally just watched the episode and just in shock. Didn't want to give anything away other than to express how completely and utterly unmissable it was!!
