Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

What if Oberyn inflicted mortal wounds on the mountain and in fact they're both dead?

Could Tyrion live? Would there be a rematch between two new champions?

If they kill Oberyn and Tyrion in 2 weeks I will be gutted.

Wow, I'm in shock after that, on a par with the red wedding for me.

Could not see anything but Oberyn winning. How does the Mountain winning and Tyrion being executed progress the story? The expected outcome of Tyrion being saved and Oberyn pursuing the Lannisters for further justice gave that storyline plenty of legs. Now WTF is going to happen?

I'll never crack eggs the same way again that's for sure!

Well that's an image that's not going to go away any time soon. Brutal.

Great episode, even progressed Sansa finally

I've obviously seen way too much shit on the internet to be affected by that. The only thing I felt after watching was disappointment as I really liked Oberyn's character.

Won't be able to get that image off of my mind for a while. Brutal way to kill him. Why the feck did he feel the need to dick around, should have finished him right then and there. I really should stop liking characters in this show, all of them die. fecks sake! I really loved his fighting style though, shame. Tyrion looked completely empty at the end. I don't want him to die and I don't want Cersey to get what she wants! :(

Really loved how Arya just burst up laughing when she heard her aunt her died, wicked!

I am disappointed they cut to a different camera right when his head exploded, I wanted to see that.

That was massively fecked up.

I expected a twist like that (although didnt think Oberyn would actually die), but the entire thing had been far too set up. At no point in the last 2 seasons can I remember a more "foregone conclusion" fight than that - it was all set up beautifully for Oberyn to win. In any other show I would have expected that, but in this one I really did expect a twist. Just....not....that.

He wanted to find out whether Tywin gave the order to kill his sister.

It felt like he knew it was Tywin, he just wanted to enjoy it. Hopefully they don't kill Tyrion know, we need at least 1 or 2 good guys to be left alive..right? :nervous:

I forgot to add how much I detest that Bolton kid. Every time I see him I feel the urge to punch the screen. He's taken over from Joffrey for now.

Like everyone else said it's just annoying now. You can't even support anyone.

I hope Peter Baylish and Varys become kings!

EDIT: This G RR Marting or whoever is genuinely sick I think.

No way they kill Tyrion. Book it. They can't.

I'm not convinced. They create great characters that you root behind, kill them for great effect and then use their death to enhance your feelings of justice towards other characters and replace by giving another character a great story arc.

For example - I would guess that if Tyrion does die it will push Jamie even further to the good side and Cersi will become ever more despiseable.

Yeah, but this is different. This is unequivocally the most popular character. Obviously it's based on the books, but I can't see it having happened there. He'll escape somehow. I reckon
Jamie saves him somehow. Would give further poignancy to all the dialogue between the two in the dungeon over several episodes.

But that just feels too obvious. He's much more likely to just chop his head off and leave us to squirm and feel sorry for ourselves

But that has to end somewhere. It loses its effect until the point comes that people just can't get invested in "good" characters anymore. I feel if he kills off Tyrion now we've gone well past that point.

I love how unpredictable it can be at times. Anything can happen to anybody.

Lets just hope Daenerys & Tyrion live forever.

It's stupid and is going to ruin the show if it continues no matter the books. I think I would actually stop watching if they kill off Tyrion

The fight scene was good but too short for my liking.
