Gabriel Jesus - United and others apparently meet release clause

24m Euros isnt extremely low, i think it is a fair price. Good enough to take a punt. He could turn out to be a bargain.
In the current market that's a steal for anyone with any talent, no idea how good this guy is but if he's considered s top talent then 100% it's cheap.

Should help that we are giving opportunities to young players. You'd think he'd look at media and if it looks like mourinho is coming in and we'll have a bunch of aging target men ahead of him he'll go to spain, but if we keep making sounds that we'll be progressive with young exciting kids then this is the best football club in the world to be at for a player like him, I do really believe that

Yep Mourinho would start by murdering his whole family and sending him to Carrington basement until he turns 35.

Yea nobody wants to play under a guy who's won CL, league titles in Italy, England and Spain anyway.

of course not, but the evidence shows irrefutably that most-all of the young players coming through would be left by the wayside in favour of short term, defensive football, as much as you hate that truth

Oh for feck sake can this not be turned into a Mourinho battle please.

This thread is for Jesus jokes.

You've got to factor in the savings he'll bring us at the Christmas party as well.

This could be a player that may light up Old Trafford again which the last was Di Maria. I like his mentality already, he didn't hide even when playing in Argentina and even got himself a sending off

He's a pretty young player, if he signs, let's not expect miracles from him.

Missed a chance to say, oh christ's sake.

From the youtube videos I think he is the new Paulo Dybala

How much have you actually seen of him?
15 goals in 54 games is shit for a striker. In quite a few of those hightlights it looks like he playing as the furthest forward attacker. Thats pretty average mate. Whats the point in paying 24 mil for a player who is as good as someone we already have just because he can do a few flicks.. Neymar scored 50 or so in 100 or so gamed before he got a move to Barca. Do we need to sign another average Brazilian? No.

He doesn't want to come now that we have sold Angel di Maria

That is a pretty stupid comparison. Neymar played in Brazil until he was 21, and his average improved a lot in his last 2 seasons with 27 goals in 38 matches. Gabriel turned 19 just a few weeks ago.

As for 15 goals in 54 matches being shit for a striker - well compared to shit strikers like Thierry Henry (20 in 105), Alan Shearer (23 in 118), Ruud van Nistelrooy (30 in 100) - the young lad seems to do be doing quite ok

You could just said "I haven't seen him at all". No need to mask it with irrelevant stats.

He is 19 years old. For all you know (given you have seen nothing him), he could be as talented as Martial. If that were the case, we still shouldn't him for 18-20 million pounds? As @lysglimt has posted, strikers don't tend to get a goal every other game in their teens. Check out Rooney's record for Everton before he joined us as an 18 year old.

For a teenager, it's mostly about the natural ability/talent, unless the strikers is evidently rubbish in front of goal.

No its not actually. Leave him there, see how he develops and if he comes good try and get him.

Nope he'll already be playing for another one of the top sides

Rooney proved himself in the premier league against top quality opposition. Martial did it in the CL. Wait is all Id say.

Martial didn't really prove much in the CL. And I'm not sure how this Brazillian kid is supposed to prove himself against top PL opposition or CL already.

I don't mind us waiting, but it depends on how talented he is. If he's hugely talented, and due to playing in the Brazilliant hasn't been able to do the above two things, I'd like us to sign him now. Better than than for 60 million a few years later/him being signed by someone else.

Martial ran Arsenal ragged over two legs mate. Didnt you see those games?

Nearly word for word what posters said about Harry Kane last summer.
Or when we were linked with Saul Niguez last January. He wasnt that important because he wasnt getting many starts and if he were that good the Spanish top two would be after him. Lets wait and see etc etc.
Even signing Martial posters were saying leave him in France for 'development'.
Its ridiculous bordering on indecision. Thats why United pay top dollar for scouts and we pretend we are on here.

If he's really talented, we better do it now before Barca and Madrid come circling.

Some name that. Guaranteed to kiss the pitch and kneel whilst pointing to the sky, muttering the words of the Lord.

Yeah what's even more perplexing is having a judgement on a player you've clearly not seen much, if anything, of.

But if we don't leave him there and dilly dally with the transfer, then how are we going to whine about our club having a lousy scouting network and Woody's incompetency to get things done later?

Posters were describing Saul as technically limited on here! As a Spanish midfielder they were expecting a bit more from him and he was some sort of Fernandinho type player.

He proved himself over two games vs Arsenal? That is what big money is spent on? So if Martial was playing in Brazil, you'd have written him off (without seeing him of course) as a possible signing.

If anything, the Martial transfer should teach people to be more open minded. Most people here know squat about footballers from all around the world and have a very limited view on things.

Yes, I remember that. Which is why I was so surprised when I saw him consistently be the best young midfielder in Spain this season and show a wide array of abilities.

He also helped Monaco get into the CL and won best u21 player in europe in 2015.

His scoring record was the same as Gabriel. I have no idea why you're constantly arguing from a position of complete ignorance. You know nothing about this kid. Your judging him based on his inability to affect the PL and CL from South America.

Am I missing something with this guy?

Just watched the video and I'm not impressed at all, all I saw in those clips were pub level standard goalkeeping and defending.
