Gabriel Jesus - United and others apparently meet release clause

Hmm, why would they go for another winger ? They already have 4 excellent wingers.

Crazy team!

jesus what a squad.

Your post assumed that Bayern would have got Martial like they did with Sanchez just because of their 'lure', which is non sense and I gave the example of Dembele, who they failed to sign despite of their 'lure'.

I was not being defensive, merely pointing out the flaws of your assumption. That just because one transfer turned out that way, does not mean that every other transfer in the past would have turned out similarly in the same situation.
Eh? Reading is not your strong point it seems. I didn't assume that Bayern would have definitely gotten Martial. I'm saying that it was good for us that a club with more lure than us (currently) didn't go balls out for a player that has become a star for us. Real Madrid might not beat us to every player either, still, I'd rather them not get involved in players we're not interested. Bayern appear to be developing a similar ruthless streak in players they want now. Why would we want them wanting the same players as us? Fairly simple logic, isn't it?

Fair enough, I misunderstood your post, my bad.

Almost all of the top clubs were in for Martial though.
We were the club that were prepared to offer thr most and he wanted to come.

Of course it's better to have less competition for your main targets but when you are prepared to offer €80m for a fairly unknown youngster who has only played a handful of professional games, more often than not you will find yourself having very little competition. Trouble is these players will frequently not turn out as good as Martial.

Cheers. My post also a bit harshly worded so I take that bad too.

Yeah, but that's what we're paying people good money to our employees to get right. I don't have an issue with us paying huge fees but it must only be reserved for insanely talented footballers.
