Chelsea are willing to pay £60m for Gordon, according to Sky Sports. Not a prayer they drop £140m on Fofana and Gordon and still come back in for FDJ.

As @Judas says, it's Barca or United and the fact that Barca's mouthpieces are getting noisy again shows that they're desperate for United to come forward IMO.
 
My body's ready for a FDJ, Casemiro & Bruno midfield. With Eriksen, Fred & McTom/DvB coming on for the last 30 minutes you'd have crazy workrate for the entire 90 minutes
 
If we can genuinely get FDJ and Antony in this summer, we are starting to look pretty strong again.

I really hope the board can take this momentum now and kick on. The club and ETH deserve it.

That would just leave us with a RB, ST and a GK left to make us relatively complete IMO - possibly a young RCB on top.
 
Barcelona want Bernardo Silva, and the only way they can is by selling De Jong. Except, I don't see how City can sell him this window anymore - too late - so once they go to City to deal they'll be told to come back in January. And if they can't have Silva, they have no reason to sell Frenkie. Chelsea are about to solve their Kounde issue by signing Aubameyang, so they won't be in need of sales anymore either

Fred is not good enough for where we want to go. Casemiro-De Jong midfield can realistically get us top 4 which will more than pay for itself. And it's a midfield we can built for a future title winning squad.

You are correct but it is a deal that can only happen on deadline day when Barcelona have to accept reality, so it will be Frenkie Thursday.

Just spent £60m on a midfielder. You think the Glazers are sanctioning another midfielder? Especially after last night, no chance. We might buy Anthony and that's it.

Yes I’m sure the talk of games potentially being postponed, the 10k strong march and chants of we want glazers out around the stadium after each goal showed them they’re under zero pressure here. Totally normal. Everything is fine.

They won't give a crap. We beat Liverpool, will convince them we're in the mix for the top 4. The whole talk of 4 more signings won't materialise.

I think their plan has been to drag it out until as late as possible and say the delay is why they weren't able to get Silva done in time. :lol:

I think the protest have a big part in this scattered approach to so many targets. They are feeling the pressure and will invest at least this season.

Ten Hag even hinted at that in his post match interview when asked about further transfers last night. Need more numbers…especially up front

The leeches are rattled by the groundswell of anger directed at their ownership so are trying to buy their way to some good will from the fans.

We have lost 9 players and taken almost £80m of the wage bill…theres enough money to fund them all it just means we wont be buying much in January (we rarely do much business then anyway)

Glazers aren’t paying it out of their own pocket, they most likely are looking at a loan which the club will be left to pay off.

We have to believe fellow muppets Hot things are happening.
 
The deal is so complicated it will have to be done before the last day in my opinion.

i'm at the stage now where we are spunking huge money on Antony...just blink as fast as you can and get the fecker done. Pay the wages. Get the glazers to find their debit card, go down to Bank of America, and ask for a withdrawal.

Exactly, Barcelona have no reason to buckle until last minute. Any sort of discount is good for them, because of the precarious situation their wage structure is in.

Rumours are he is a done dealio to Liverpool for next summer already. Carragher hinted as much last night when talking about transfers and how Liverpool won’t rush out to buy a midfielder this summer when they have the ideal one lined up for next summer, they will sit and wait for him.
