Michael carrick was a solid premier league player too....and loads of utd fans whinged when he signed.. we all know how that turned out. Wolves are a good team to deal with, they sell and sell at good prices, not over the top. Jota for example. 50m would probably do it,as long as its not the last few days of the window.
They don’t want to sell him, and you forget the United tax plus our desperation which adds a premium. Would be surprised to see as mich as 70/80m quoted for him, and he’s easily more expensive than FDJ.

The guys name is literally Pearl Jam. If you haven’t heard of them you need to YouTube a few tunes and educate yourself!
Ok yeh that’s embarrassing. I do like Pearl Jam, she’s an awesome singer..

My honest two cents to try and be balanced and not too pessimistic like my previous posts:

- our confidence has reduced from very likely to around 50/50 because of the Chelsea interest.
- it may favour Chelsea on paper but we back our charm when negotiations with FdJ actually take place.
- in the event it doesn't, SMS will join.

Chelsea may not pull the trigger if they think we might still get him, and they lose out... I think some of the press stuff may be leaks as an attempt to scare us out of the chase.

I take the piss out of him but he's an attention whore too. Does anyone find it a bit weird that Romano has barely mentioned or acknowledged the the FDJ to Chelsea rumors or am I mistaken?
He did. On his youtube thing he does. Said Boehly and TT are really pushing for FDJ, have told Barca and people close to FDJ that theyre ready to pay the money required and are ready to pay big money. That was Basically it. Mentioned Utd are still dreaming of signing him too, but as of today, Wednesday, player still prefers to stay and wont wage cut. thats the gist of what i remember, may have forgotten some. But nothing earth shattering

Agree. Chelsea not yet making a bid would possibly indicate (despite the noise) that they are not sure he would join them over us yet.

Compare that to how much and how often he repeated regurgitated the same information about United's interest. The stuff in the YT video is more of a throwaway comment.

Or it could mean that they're not entirely serious about him and just want to test the waters.

I just can't understand why, if they're so certain he'll come, they haven't bidded. Makes absolutely no sense. We got our bid in and was willing to wait?

Yeah, there anre numerous possibilities. I'm just speculating.

The ignominy of being beaten to your priority transfer target by a man named Todd :( Surely this cannot be!

Ready to pay the money, but haven't as of yet bidded? If they're willing to pay the money, then why aren't they doing so?

Fair point. What do you think would happen with Gallagher/Kante/Jorginho/RLC etc.

Obviously you have too many midfielders this season. Presumably Gallagher back to Palace or something?
Nothing. Because we aren’t signing De Jong!

Better than being called Rod, because then you'd be owned by these two.

I think Chelsea are waiting for the green light from Frenkie's camp. If they get that, the bid goes in and it's a done deal. Thus far though, the problem is the players reluctance to even entertain offers. (including offers from Barca for wage reductions) He pretty much knows the cards are in his hands at this point.

Because as of now, he still doesnt want to leave. It'd be a pointless exercise to bid until we get the nod that the option of leaving, is now being considered.

You reached an agreement 12 weeks ago was it? And still havent signed him because he hasnt wanted to leave. We'd be in the same boat if we bid right this minute. However, i agree with many here, the saga is getting tedious

If he's told people he would supposedly join people like we've heard and they bid surely he has a decision to make no?

So have they agreed a fee? They’ve been waiting for weeks now and they have UCL football and can afford to pay his deferred wages.

I'd predict Kante stays. Jorginho too, but i think he'd be on the "open to offers" list. Gallagher back out on loan especially with a WC year. RLC stays. Gilmour goes, Barkley too. Kova definitely stays

Why would FDJ accept being a rotation option when he can have our team built around him and probably earn more money.

I hate that everything points to this being Chelsea but there’s always one fairly reliable cnut with news that point to it being us.
