Sport obviously aren't reliable but I do think there will be development this week that will make or break this deal
If he has talked to Xavi and the situation made clear to him then this won't drag on much longer

They're reliable if it's positive.

You go to the Murtough thread and everyone is raving about how Murtough isn't to blame for this summer (or last) and was only a puppet in the job for the first 6 months, but now Woodward has gone he is sorting out all our issues has fired the head scouts and if we give him some time it will be all rosey.

I have to admit I'm more than a bit sceptical,
Likewise. Murtough has good experience in lots of areas, but the job may well be too big for him.

but I guess we have to hope that's the case because otherwise we are likely up a certain brown alley for the long term and things are only likely to get worse.
Now I’m not sure that’s necessarily the case. The real driver of change at United isn’t Murtough, or even EtH, but Richard Arnold. Murtough was a Woodward hire, and Arnold has not been shy of ousting Woodward’s mates if he’s thought they aren’t up to the job. I’m sure he’ll give Murtough a fair go, but if the indications are that he can’t hack it, he won’t be sentimental about getting rid of him.

Look at how excited we all get when there is something that resembles an update

Xavi: Boss the pay cut angle didn't work, the daft cnut agreed.
Laporta: Feck, tell him he won't be able to enjoy many minutes in the team then, I want him sold.

Ah... so SPORT is reliable now? I very much doubt anything is going to change, if it's going to change at all, during Barcelona's tour. And they are still almost two weeks out.

nah but even SPORT can add 2+2 and get 4. Xavi and Laporta timed their comments to try and get a resolution.

I wanted de Jong
Which started the whole world laughing
Oh, if I'd only seen
That de Jong isn't coming

1000 pages of muppets posting is like the zombies bursting over the PPG of the wall in World War Z. Let’s call it World War Muppet
Barca can’t hold the tide back

@Niall rang Laporta and told him he can’t take much more of this shite on his forum. Wouldn’t surprise me if he’s paid the £17m.
If anything he's asking them to prolong it. Muppet season drives in big revenues

At this point, I think its more like De Jong stays at Barca than signs for Man Utd.

Given that Barcelona is De Jong's dream club, and he doesn't really want to leave, if Barcelona are serious that he can stay if he takes a pay cut I can see him doing it. Lets be honest, once you're a millionaire, does it matter if you're getting paid £150k a week or twice that? He's at the club he wants to be, in the country he wants to play in. His girlfriend likes it etc.

This whole saga is reminding me a bit of the Dembele situation. Six months ago Dembele was public enemy number one in Catalonia. He was never going to play for Barcelona again, he had no future. We heard all the threats from Barcelona, we saw all the hit stories in the Catalan sports press. Forward to the present day and Dembele's signed a new deal with Barcea as a free agent.

I reckon that, unless Barcelona are going to shove De Jong out of the door, there's a good chance he doesn't move.

Amazing. 1000 pages and not a single hint he's coming. Sad as Feck seeing all these comments. Just don't get it. He doesn't want to come.

If you've been around rich people then you'll know that they ALWAYS aim to get richer not poorer. You wouldn't see Musk happily throw away millions just because he's a billionaire. Frenkie is entering his prime and about to marry so I doubt he'd be willing to throw away money at this stage maybe if he was in his 30s like Bale
Dembele is a poor example because nobody wanted to buy him even as a free agent so he had no choice. Frenkie has a ready and willing buyer willing to pay what he's worth so not exactly the same optics

Still think he joins but the Dembele point is in mind too. Barcelona have some weird hypnosis drink the kool-aid shite going on with their players

It's not the same, though. Dembele was a free agent and similar to Pogba, there was little market for him. His alternative to signing on with Barca for reduced wages was signing for no one

There is no need to tell him. Pedri and Gavi will be the starters, while Kessie impressed and will also get many minutes since Xavi personally requested him.
Also, Frenkie won't start as single pivot because his strengh is to carry the ball forward and you can only do that with a double pivot in that position. So Sergio keeps on playing and his substitute is Nico right now.
You don't have to be Pep Guardiola to understand Frenkie won't play much under those circumstances.
