Get yourself into the 'doolies' - The Factory with the disco in it down at 7pm on map.

Get your hands on some explosives (the blue detonator one) - position as much of them around a chest and hidden from the person so they cannot see them when arriving. Get yourself up into the gods - don't touch anything and make it look like it has never been touched and sit and wait. Is like fishing.

Other thing to do is get a kill and don't touch a thing (or you could drop a load of amo & bullets about the place to make it look like a sniper) in the middle of all this drop an explosive and again sit and wait. Player will come along thinking its a sniper kill and try and take the loot.
I'll have to try that second one, that's smart as feck. Fingers crossed I'll have it done by tonight, cheers for that.

Ah the old loot bait. Haven't done it in a while, but it was effective

Has anyone played Save the World btw? Me and my boys started yesterday, it's a good game so far and a brilliant way to practice building/shooting. Plus you can farm v-bucks to use in the BR side of it too.

I'm not a bad player by any means but I've never struggled to complete a challenge like the grenade eliminations one from the first week, I've been on 1/3 since it came out and I still can't get it done
You can just throw grenades at knocked players can't you? I'm sure that's how I did it.

If you can then I feel like a bit of an idiot :nervous:
Try it. Just after the first week of challenges came out, someone knocked me and then threw a sticky on me to finish me off. I thought that's what he was doing so tried it myself. I'm sure it worked.

No I think they changed that. It's now the weapon you knock people with, but I'm not 100% on that.

What you should do with grenades and trap challenges is keep landing tilted and spam them. Sure you'll die loads, but you will get your kills

Yo @Nucks what's the word around the campfire about the Epic decision with the latest tourny?

I know the big guys have stayed mostly silent since it, and we can all understand that, but what do you think?

Regarding IDropz? I think it's PR. If they admit they made a mistake allowing M/KB, thats a PR hit. Also, I'm not entirely sure how you can even reliably police it at this point regarding M/KB on console. So, my feeling is that they are just going to say "It's fine". It will remain fine until there are live console LAN tournaments, at which point I expect it to be banned from competitive LAN play.

I personally think it's super shady, and they should be running console and PC tournaments separately. Console vs PC are almost entirely different games. I also don't think they really care that much at this point. This is all about PR and hype. Ultimately it's going to be a shit show until they can come up with a compelling competitive rule set. I wouldn't be surprised at all, if a competitive game mode emerges that is RADICALLY different from regular pub play. From building costs being multiple times higher to prevent build spamming and force players into engagements more often, or allowing players to drop with limited kit right off the bat. Something to remove/tone down the camping, and remove drop RNG to some extent.

You should watch Nickmercs in the Friday Fortnite tournament - he's played alongside Sypher and HD and more than held his own in lobbies comprising PC players. Your view on console players is ridiculous.

K.

He squaded up with some decent people. Have Nickmercs drop into a game with Reaver or any other of the top top tier mechanical players and see how badly he gets dominated. Hypothetically, if there was a 1v1 DM game that allowed PC vs console, your boy would get something like 100-0'd by Reaver. I feel like I should give you my background on this.

I have led a gaming clan for about 2 decades. That group of people included about half a dozen people from the original Evil Geniuses, when they were a quake clan, and the number one FPS clan in the world. One of them was Fatal1ties teammate and primary training partner when Fat was ruling the FPS world in PainKiller. I am friends with many members of DeathRow, and have gamed off and on with guys like Reptile, Pure, Immortal, IceWolf and other OG legends for years. I have some relatively high level insight into this from a professional angle since I talk to these guys, literally, on a daily basis. I know most of the original c9 OW team that included Reaver and have known them for almost a decade now.

I also know guys who are absolute shitters at FPS games, and to troll around, they use M/KB on their consoles, and they are pub gods on console, and scrub lords on PC.

The reality here, is that the skill cap of console gaming is on the floor compared to PC gaming. You want to make the argument that it's all relative? Knock yourself out, but trying to suggest that any console player with a controller is anywhere near an elite PC player in the same game, is laughable. I don't think you fully grasp the fine motor control differences between m/kb and a controller, and what the difference in possibility is between them.

Just won a game of duos with my girlfriend
She only recently started playing with me to just feck around and I'm only hood at actual shooting but pretty trash at building. Just got in good positions for the last bit and both had rocket launchers, but won it. Got so hyped up haha

As long as you knock them down first, whatever weapon you finish them off wirh gives you the kill. Also I'm pretty sure if you knock them and someone else grenades them you get the grenade kill, though not 100% on that one.

I'll take your word for it.

On a side note, do you work in the industry?

It definitely worked last week, that's how I did it.

Whether they've patched it since then who knows.

I just did it with squads and when we beat a team instead of killing them we left them alive and then just stuck them / threw a grenade at them lol

You should get Reaver to try out for TSM now they need a new 4th ;)

@AltiUn Yeah, as mentioned, it definitely works still. I get all my challenge kills this way and used it this week for the sniper kills - which I may add is much easier if you carry a Hunting Rifle and finish them off with that from close range.

I just got a happy birthday update, some surprises hidden in the game.

Saw someone with a birthday cake backpack but thats all so far.

Even Myth is not good enough imo. He is so inconsistent and gets killed by ordinary players so often. His performance in most of the Fortnite tournaments have also been quite shocking.

Yeah Myth was lucky in that he was ahead of the curve at the beginning. But many players have surpassed him now IMO. Hamlinz is definitely a top tier player though.

Yeah Hamlinz and Daequan are top players. The Faze team are the strongest though. Tfue and Cloak especially dominated the Keemstar tournament.

Tfue is incredible. His mechanics - in terms of aiming and building etc - really impress me. I would say he's consistently the best player I watch.

If TSM are smart they'd pair Hamz and Dae. That's a team that could take on Tfue and Cloakzy.

Have Myth find another partner and tell him he needs to improve rather than spending his time sucking off Epic and telling the community how to think.

Failing that, try to convince HD to go pro and partner Dae. Imagine the slaughter that would be!

What does going pro actually mean? Does HD not represent TSM when he plays tournaments now?

He's part of TSM as a streamer. Pro is a different beast altogether, which is why Camills couldn't hack it.

And there haven't been any actual pro tournaments yet, the skirmishes are more for Epic to test the waters. Which is pointless now anyway if they continue to feck the game up.

He's really down on pro teams after the c9 thing. He has anxiety the whole thing was super super stressful for him. He also doesn't really have much hope for a coherent competitive scene with Fortnite. I'm pretty sure he is happy to win money from it, but, BR games just struggle to translate to entertaining competitive play, because I think the foundational aspect of what makes BR games fun to play, and fun to watch, are quite literally contrary to competitive game play. The randomness of each game is what makes it fun to watch/play, but that randomness is also what sort of defeats competitive play. Especially when money is on the line, it becomes a campfest, unless they stick with a pubstomp type of format.

My feeling is that they are probably going to need to look at some sort of hybrid pubstomp system, where you perhaps put 10 "pros" in a lobby together, they play a best of 3 or 4, and the highest X number of placements move on to the next round where they face a new set of 10 guys in a lobby together. So there is the pub aspect, BUT each game is seeded with 10 or so top tier players. It should keep the game moving pacing wise, but also up the stakes with more tourney players per match.

So damn close to my first win but i did get the winning shot for a 50/50

I had like 18 of those before I got my first solo win. Instances where the other guy had like 10 hp, 5hp etc

Trust me, that first solo win, is orgasmic

I'm close to 300 solo games man. Still can't get the win. I had one solo win on my first few days of playing fortnite but that was it. Even that win was a sniper shot to kill the final guy who was my only kill in the game! Recently, got into the final 2 but then died to a trap set by someone who was already dead.

They come like London buses man trust me.

There was one morning where I had 3 solo wins out of 4, and trust me I'm not that good.

Most important thing is when in the final 2, relax, breath, think. Don't rush. It's like you're driving an F1 car, you're quick but you're smart and calculated at the same time.

Was reading about the founder of EPIC games today, sounds like a character. This game makes $1b+ annually a year just from in-game sales. Crazy cash cow!

Been playing fortnite recently.... People can build a fortress in about 2 seconds flat and heres me building stairs over my head and blocking myself in. Quality game, but I'm so bad. Might resort to having fun with traps and C4

Switching to the "build a pro" controller setup makes things so much easier, but I'm the same.

I'm a very good shooter but once it gets into a crazy build battle I struggle, I just can't think fast enough to build / attack at the same time.

I have friends that are better at it so I let them push and I sit back and pick them off lol.

Use the playground mode to practise, it's pretty quick to learn.
