@Slevs I don't have a mic as you've probably guessed! I bought a decent headset when I was getting into fortnite but didn't think to buy one with a mic. Can I hook one up somehow while keep using this headset? It'd be so much easier to be able to talk back to you.
I don't think so. You could use the regular ps4 mic and output on tv I guess.

I spent like £100 on this headset though! It's great for placing footsteps around me, which direction fire is coming from, etc.
I've no problem keeping it like this. Our moves were coordinated and we seemed to understand each other most of the time.
Yea let's go again. It'd just be handy for the future but I'll look into it another time. In the meantime you call the shots on which direction to head in and whatnot.

I'm not 100% sure, but it might be possible with a 2 to 1 jack converter, plug the headset into one and a mic into the other. Failing that, I'm pretty sure there's a way the PS4 camera works as a mic even when you have a headset connected.
Oh and sorry for missing the invite the other day, I was in the middle of a pretty intense save the world level. We'll have to play soon though!

@Sied I think you shot yourself in the foot with that headset. The lack of a mic will make it really difficult to be able to communicate. You could try getting the 3.5mm dual port but they're so god damn shit and frustrating to use.

Anyone else think Builder Pro should be the default setting? Its actually easier than the original building controls - less button pressing for a start and prevents panic building/rotating through the stupid cone thing.

Yeah, I play on PC, PS4 and Switch. Though to be honest, cross play works wonders with console/PC/mobile players, you'll get a serious kick out of killing PC players
As much as certain aspects of the game are going backwards, they've made it so console players can truly compete with PC ones so for that I'm impressed. Although auto-aim is ridiculously strong (especially current smg meta), it's more the way they keep adjusting the building aspect that makes it a more fair fight in general. Plus it's great practice for console play, it pushes you to use movement and building more than the usual console only lobby would.
To be honest, auto aim may seem strong to someone who plays a lot of PC, but it's probably the weakest going compared to most console shooters.

Nah, it's a combination of the auto aim and tightening bloom on it, it's genuinely really strong. For example, if you played it back in Season 3 with the tac smg you'll have noticed that only console players used that weapon as it was far tighter, giving it a genuine level ground (and rightly so IMO) with PC players and the one pump. I play both PC and Console and I can tell you it bridges the gap, it does it well though as it gives a controller a fighting chance. With COD, the auto snap is stronger, but the movement overall lacks massively and the recoil/spread (they don't use bloom in the same way) is not altered hence why PC wins outright every time. Plus, no scoping
This is why I play both console and PC, because both offer something different but also great. In fact, I often prefer console play just because it's made me a better builder by having to think about what I'm doing. And as silly as it might sound, all those keybinds on PC (and the fact I'm constantly changing them to try to get comfortable) is a pain in the arse. I like being able to pick up a controller and just knowing what's what.

Probably yest another stupid question, but sometimes when im trying to build, it wont let me, also it comes up with something like 140hp, it just wont let me place the wall, any ideas?

You could try using ModMic or the boompro mic. One is modular and the other can be plugged directly in some headsets so it depends on what you already got.

Plus the sound design in Fortnite is god awful anyway, so you could just get a super cheap headset for now.

Sounds like you’re trying to edit / repair the wall you’ve already placed. If you hold the builder button it goes into an edit mode.
Dont think its that bud, sometimes it happens when its the first piece im trying to build, perhaps its a glitch.
Switch to weapon then back to build and it should work mate. It's a bug.
