Sure. It's only a few games in, so it might turn out to be terrible. That tactic looks solid, mind sharing? It would take me much to switch from my narrow 4-3-3 but like the option

This is half the reason I usually play Classic/Touch/Whatever, if FM is to be believed, nearly every player in Europe is an insane thundercnut.Wow Rooney is such a twat in this save. Thought he was still looking for a move but no teams offered a transfer for him, so I asked him to talk to clubs if he wants to leave, all of a sudden he isn't interested in a move anymore. Can he please fecking make his mind up? Hope he has still some juice left in him after Martial has joined PSG I could do with a first team striker.

Like players requesting transfers, then becoming outraged when you try to sell them... "Happy to be leaving" *picks up skirts and flounces out of stadium*
Only thing I like about the main version really is the bigger youth intakes, but then it's usually 23 guys with 3 that are any good and 20 to be instantly released, anyway.Yeah the interaction module really sucks. I think I'll be playing classic from now on exclusively as well, since the full version barely adds anything I'm really fond of.

Holy moly. Now Rooney wants to leave again seeking a new challenge. I ask him what it would take to keep him here and he says he wants to win the CL but I answer that I can't guarantee that, especially not after the team lost 2 important players, so now he wants to leave again. I already know how it will go, someone will make a bid, not offer him the wages he want and he won't sign, after that he will drop wanting to leave again and I'm stuck with a moping player on 300k p/w. Fantastic.
I sold him to Spurs after one season. I sell most of my players at 29 or 30 because weirdly I like saving up shed loads of money. Just sold a 30 year old Pogba for £52m to PSG
Bale has just turned 29 for me now, I used always be like that, selling guys in mid-late 20's, and reloading the squad. Not sure where I'd find a world class RW that's British and willing to join me though to replace him.I sold him to Spurs after one season. Plus my success in retraining Rooney has me thinking maybe I can shuffle him about as his pace starts to go.
This game. So Rooney who wanted me to guarantee him a CL win for him to consider staying and who was earning 300k p/w with us has just signed for fecking NEWCASTLE and is on 135k p/w now. What the hell is going on in this game? oO
I'm playing with a maximum of 5 non British and Irish in my first team.I always raid the Brazil and Argentina youth sides. Pick up a wonderkid or two every season on the cheap. My English quota is getting quite low now though.

I could just change to a non-winger formation, all of Martial, Memphis, Rashford and Bale tbh, can be fine strikers, most great behind the striker.
On mine Martial is rated 4.5 stars, along with Pogba. It's weird though, he jumped straight from 2 to 4 for a season and now 4.5.Memphis is a cracking striker, despite not liking him in real life he is in my team on this game a lot. Martial though, he is my main striker and has achieved nearly a goal a game ratio for me over many seasons but his rating has never been over 2 stars as a 'useful player'!
That's where I'm most worried at the moment, no great English regen CB's have popped up yet, Smalling 29, Shawcross 30(though Stones has overtaken him now). I have one spare non British & Irish slot at the moment though, so may sell off Harry Maguire and land one of the top foreign sorts.Mata is the only player I've kept over the age of 30 so far, cause he was unreal. But then Coric came back from loan even better than him and I still got £30m for a 32 year old Mata.
Smalling is 30 now, I don't want to say goodbye

Had to replay an FA Cup tie against Liverpool, and due to fixture congestion, the only time I could play was in the middle of an international break. So lets go through this:
Pereira is my fourth choice goalkeeper.
Laird is a 20 year old left back from the US who hasn't developed as I'd hoped.
Rojo is my fifth choice centre back.
Thiago Maia is my third choice defensive midfielder.
Goss is pure shit.
Ruben Neves is my fourth choice defensive midfielder being played out of position.
Asamoah has to be shoehorned into left midfield, which creates an assymetrical formation that annoys the hell out of me.
Lane is a recently-turned 17 year old striker from the academy.
The bench is filled with trash.
SUCK IT!
the legend stuff is daft, and really annoying when you go to sell players because the fans stink up a fuss the whole fecking season.Thinking of starting a new save, most of the way through the fourth season, everything in sight has been smashed.
Rashford is already a Man Utd legend.
Yup, and it's always the most random players, too, like Darmian as you say.the legend stuff is daft, and really annoying when you go to sell players because the fans stink up a fuss the whole fecking season.
"the fans are delighted you won every single trophy imaginable but they're really pissed at you for selling club icon Darmian for £30m despite him never really playing that much for the club or being that good. Also how does it feel that he's an icon and you're only favoured personnel despite you winning about 50 billion trophies, you lil bitch?"
I just ignore star ratings at all costs. I take them off all the screens. They just fluctuate wildly and are pointless. Looking about in the live editor, they do not seem to reflect PA or CA anyway.
Chances are, your players aren't being downgraded. Their attributes and CA/PA will be the same, or improving. It'll just be the AI deciding that your staff are crackpots. The star rating needs binning or overhauled, IMO.
Yeah, that probably makes sense. The problem is theres just no other metric for gauging PA and whilst I understand that potential is an inexact science in real football its just utter bollocks that absolutely everyone changes their opinion at the drop of a hat.
I think it works best if both CM's are in roles that hold position a lot.How on earth do you guys get the 4231 with 2 cms to work? I end up conceding too many goals.
They want that "realism" where you're unsure of players I guess, I think scouting and coach reports were far, far fecking better in 14, where you'd get a youngster with potential and they'd give a rough estimate of how good they might get, "potential to be a leading premier league player" or whatever, now you don't get that until they're 23+. It was brilliant in the low leagues getting a player in an intake or something and thinking he could play well beyond your level. You'd get a rough idea of who you'd be able to build around, or sell for lots of money if need be.It really is bollocks. I could be wrong, but I think FM just likes your staff to get it wrong a fair chunk of the time. Even when I've got really good scouts, they still recommend the occasional crappy, useless player who fits none of the criteria I set. Even if I have a good assistant manager, if I ask him to arrange training schedules, he'll put 4 coaches on goalkeepers, my fitness coaches on shooting and nobody on tactics.
Backroom meetings are a joke. "I think such-and-such should be taken off penalty taking duties". Such-and-such has 18 for penalties and 17 for finishing. "I think your first choice full backs shouldn't be taking throw ins". They're full backs. Full backs always take throw ins.
Backroom staff can suck it. I'll do it all myself.
International football is shit all round, all my players come back fecked for their next club match, uaually half injured. If I am managing a national side, I can't rest players between fixtures, so if my starters aren't needed for a 3rd group game in the WC, even if I play the backups, my starters stay langered even if they have a few days between the next match they play. Fecking stupid.Their internationals need upgrading. Managing Uruguay in 2018 WC, Morocco knocked Brazil and Mexico out of Group stage and Spain in round of 16!
