Gaming Football Manager 2016

Fecking Rooney. I finally get Arsenal and Atletico to agree to a reasonable deal, £19,5M for Arse and £15,25M from Atleti because Rooney was desperate about leaving. Now what happened? He turned them down because they weren't offering him high enough wages.

Now I'm stuck with the unhappy greedy little shit and essentially have a reserve player on £300k p/w, awesome.

Probably going to offer him out for far less than that if he doesn't get back to normal.

After 24 games I again have almost the same lead against City like the season before, 10 instead of 11 points, let's see if I can keep the advantage this time and win the damn league.

My regen scored 25 in 34 last year and is rated as my second best player behind Renato Sanches. This season he's only managed 4 in 16 so far and I've just had a bid of £51m from Dortmund. Do I accept? I'm £80m in the red and only get 35% of the revenue so not sure if it's worth it? There's a screenshot of him on the last page if anyone's interested.

Edit: Ignore that. Real Madrid just met his £60m buy-out clause.

I love the testimonials bringing back old players on this game. Although I just had one for Smalling where Berahino played. That's the Berahino who I sold to Leicester, and then moved on to Liverpool.

Wonder how the fans at Old Trafford responded to him?

In my Bayern save, ive won the league by march, have another cup final but lost to United in the QF of the champions league. I'm going to tap into the huge budget next season and give the champions league one last shot before resigning and applying for Barca. They havnt won the league for years and the squad is full of players like Nasri.

In my Burton Albion save i'm currently 4th, level on points with City who are 3rd going into gameweek 38 and I play them next. Thing is United in 2nd have the same number of points and so do Chelsea in 1st! Its going to be one hell of a finish and I wish I had more time to play! Absolute scenes if I beat City and find out that United and Chelsea have lost and end up with the title

There's a small update out now.

They didn't post a changelist on their forums, but upon questions SI replied:
"This is just a small update to accommodate some licensing updates. It will not affect your save games."

So in my Dortmund save, I drew the first leg in the last 16 CL with Man City 2-2 at home. It was a tough task away, even more tougher seeing as I went 3-0 down in the first half. I gave the game up and decided to just shove players into different roles, go all out attacking, go totally narrow and to shoot on sight.. had 6 clear cut chances in the second half and drew 3-3 to go through on away goals. Totally battered City, was quite fascinating seeing them just create chance after chance.

The formation in the second half

Schalke bizarrely got relegated first season so bought two of their players. They sold all their young talent, bit of a shame really.

Try that in the next league and see what happens

I used it in the second leg away from home against Benfica - had drew 2-2 first leg again, the result..

Used it away in the league, won 6-3

Second season, and another major injury for Rooney. Massive blow to the club, as he had continued to thrive as a CM alongside Pogba. Late Dec, so that's his season over.

Pogba as DLP now, though it seems a bit of a waste, with Dele Ali beside him.

So my younglings finally won the league in my second season with 3 games to go. Went into a bit of a shit phase in Februar and March again and was fearing I would again drop my lead over City and Tottenham.

I'm also in the FA-Cup final against Leicster and the semi-final of the CL against Barca so the treble is still on. :D

Bale is shit for me. Signed him for 70m at the start of the third season and does nothing.

Lukaku is excellent. Him as a complete forward(scored 52 goals) and Martial as inside forward meant that I cruised towards a treble in my second season(League, CL and Carling Cup). Tielemans and Shaw are my best players though, average rating of 8 throughout the season.

Also Daley Blind is a big cnut. Transfer listed himself in the second season and won't go to any club as they didn't meet his wage requirements and now is leaving on a free. Relegated him to the U21's and promoted Fosu Mensah instead.

Having the same problem with Rooney. He wanted to leave during the winter transfer window and I first tried to convince him to stay which made him angry and confused, so I decided to give into his wishes and put him on the transfer list. Arsenal made a bid, turned down. Napoli made a bid, turned down and no further bids were made. Now I have this unhappy, fat cnut sitting in the stands earning 300k p/w. With Blind I somehow got offered 40M from PSG and took the bid without a second thought because in past games he always started complaining about not getting enough games despite having the status of a backup player and often having the same number of games as some of my starters, because I used him as backup for different positions.

Sold Rooney to Chelsea for 30m. It was amicable.

12 goals and 7 assists from January in the 2nd season, including scoring in the FA Cup final against Man City, and the Champions League final, against Real Madrid. 1 goal and 4 assists in the first 4 games of the 3rd season.

Took a break form this but gone back to my United save and now my entire first team other Fosu-Mensah is British.

fecking Butland wants to move to a bigger club even though we won the League twice in a row.

I'm such a lazy manager when in charge of the big clubs. Playing as United, brought in Mathias Sammer as my DoF and put him in charge of everything. Now I basically put together a list of the top 30 youngsters from my scouts and add them all as transfer targets. Now to watch my DoF work his ass off bringing me the next generation of superstars

Ever happen to anyone that the game won't open because steam says it's already running, even if I closed it the night before?

Always end up having to uninstall and reinstall steam to get it to work because restarting steam or my computer doesn't work and there's on way to force close the game. Annoying as feck

Have you tried Ctrl+Alt+Del and opening the Task Manager, to shut it down from there when this happens?

Yeah, like I said, that's when I force shut down steam as I can't close it normally as it says the game is open. There's no option to close football manager (as it's not actually open). I tried setting it to offline mode and then opening, but then steam just freezes.

This. Always works when you manually close it from the Task Manager. No need to Uninstall/Install etc.

Right, I used to have a similar problem, but the task manager could cut the game out and it'd be fine again.

Are you sure ? Coz I remember having this issue. And I just searched for the game in the "Processes" tab and close it and run steam again and it usually works.

Yeah the game isn't ever there, it's just steam open. Happened to me a few months ago and then twice this past week, checked every time to see if it was open, and it wasn't.

I'm now the proud owner of 21 new starlets for a combined transfer fee of £100m.

Such a busy 5 days for Mattias.... :D

Is this some kind of sick joke? On top of that, this was Aguero's first game back from a month layoff

Well a kinda disappointing end to the season by losing the CL final to City with 1-2 and not standing much of a chance. But unfortunately I had been missing my two best wingers and Shaw had to come off in the final after 20 minutes and Henry proved to be a weak link that City exploited ruthlessly.

Still winning the league and the fa cup with a team averaging 22.2 years. I also already found 3 amazing youngsters I'm bringing in for next season and some of my younger players really need to make the step up to be starters this season considering that I will at least lose Schweinsteiger and Mata at the end of next season.

I also stole Liverpool's biggest talent. Chris Gore, looks like he is going to be a great inside forward, 17 years old cost me 4,6M which looks already like a great deal for me.

Oh man I'm fecked. PSG offered me 41M plus addons for Martial and according to my own rules I need to agree to the deal if a players market value is met and he is not or can't become home grown anymore. That means I'm left with a Rooney who wants out of the club and Eggestein who hasn't developed like I wish he would have. I'm also bringing in a major 16 year old french striker talent but he is far off from being a starter from me. This could really suck.

Oh, I didn't change much in the 3rd season, sacked Rooney off to Leicester for 16m(well in decline after the two massive injuries, which is still a shame as he was killing it), and Bernardo Silva to PSG for just short of 70m. Chucked a Brazillian regen in as 2nd choice CM(a) behind Alli.

Starting 11 of Kane, Martial, Bale, Pogba, Alli, McCarthy, Shaw, Stones, Smalling, Dier, Butland, has mashed the league for the 3rd season, along with my 3rd CL. Lot of the youth growing well, but kind of bored.

The Olympics and my worst ever injury crisis have combined in order to create this

PWxbUKn.jpg

I can barely string 18 players together even by throwing my decent reserve players in (the best ones are on loan),absolute disaster.

And to make things worse, the players at the Olympics all need a rest so I'll need to send 'em on holidays for 2 weeks when they're back. Christ. Also seeing as I won the PL and CL last season my August fixture schedule is nuts.

As City manager I romped the league and for the quadruple. Mourinho's United finished second and got sacked, ridiculous. As if Woodward is that ruthless.

Guardiola took over at Spurs after Poch got sacked and Poch is now front runner for United job unless I make the switch from City to United

Doing great with my United-save, but I might've stumbled upon a tactic that seems to be working great! It's a 4-4-2 based on Fergies United, with counter mentality and quick wingers. Not tested too much so far, but the results are promising:

8-1 at home vs Stoke
5-1 at home vs Southampton
5-0 at home vs Milan
4-0 away vs Cardiff

The real test is going to be away to City in a few games though.

Giggs took over from Mourinho

They interviews Lambert and Moyes for the job too.....

I'm heading off to Madrid after a season at City cleaning house and taking my team with me. feck City. I should have been an instant legend not favoured personnel

Followed up by these results:

3-0 at home vs Schalke
1-1 away to City (90+3 City goal :()
3-1 at home vs Burnley (Average age 18,3)
6-0 at home vs Arsenal
5-2 away vs Schalke

This is looking quite decent so far.

That tactic looks solid, mind sharing? It would take me much to switch from my narrow 4-3-3 but like the option

In my game Giggs has brought Keane as his assistant
