I finally got around to starting that Man Utd revenge save, and tbh, it'll look quite a bit dodgy and upsetting compared to OnlyTwoDaSilvas employment of Mourinho..... but there's method to the madness, maybe.

I'm playing in FMC/T, which has no homegrown rules, so the squad limits will be a tad different. I usually play with a 22 man squad(but will accept 23 at points), rule 1, a minimum of 12 English players(13 in 23 man squads). Rule 2, a maximum of 5 non UK & Irish players. So, it should work out at 12 Eng, 5 UK&Ire, 5 Euro&Non-Euro, but of course English players are generally better than UK & Irish players, so it should be closer to 17 English unless I land Bale, Ramsay, Coleman, McCarthy, Robertson or some smashing regens. This will take a year or two to get to though, as there are a few foreign players just signed(Basti, Memphis, Darmian, etc), that I may want to get rid of, combined with a few foreign players I want to bring in. I'll get the balance right fairly quickly though....

Cook is the transfer of the window, 10m, and should develop into a top player.
Most of the rest of the moves are pretty self explanatory, though some look bad moves.
Maguire isn't special, but is fine as a backup for taking on the Villa's of the the world and unimportant cup games.
Suliman can become a good CB, Garrat is a cracking prospect, at worst they'll be excellent rotation/backups.
Silva is too good to be missed at that price.
Gnoukouri is a potential worldie, and doesn't count towards my limit yet, as he's back out on loan.
Berardi for 15m(was transfer listed) is an absolute joke, and I had to go for him as I'm short a man after Cook broke his leg, though the squad needed shuffling afterwards.
I cleaned out the chaff from the reserves(CBJ :( ), as in FMT, if you have a full reserve squad, your youth intake numbers are smaller, and I don't want my first intake to be wank.

There are also future transfers on the table, for Jack Butland(10m) in January and Maitland-Niles(9.55m) next summer.

We'll be watching Dier, Alli and Barkley closely, for future moves.

Currently sit with 15 Englishmen in the first team squad(including Cook, though he's out for 6 months), and 8 foreigners, which needs to be cut down in January, will be looking to move on Darmian, Basti, and maybe either Memphis or De Gea(since I have Butland coming in, obviously not as good, but more than good enough). Could even be Schneiderlin, all depends on who's available to buy, and if I have any money.

Also, this fellow joins us to run the youth intakes, high JPP, WWY and the perfect personality.

So far, 4-3-1-2 has been the formation, not sure whether I'll stick with it long term, or keep experimenting.

Dortmund have been absolutely gutted this window, particularly by Bayern. I took Mkitariyan for my Fiorentina team and looks like Reus may go Barca:

Transfers between AI clubs, why are they nearly always for way less than the player's value?! I'm in the first January window, Paul fecking Pogba has gone to Leicester(??!) for £32m! He's valued at £45m currently. When I bid for anyone, they always counter it with a fee double the player's value. I think all the AI clubs are in on some money laundering scheme, and I'm not allowed to be part of it.

The Pogba move is great news for me though, he's Juve's best player. Hopefully they will bomb now.

:wenger: How is that possible?

No idea! Don't know if Leicester have been given a bit of cash and/or their reputation has been upped since the January update? In the couple of saves I've started since the update, Leicester seem to do very well and buy very good players. None as bizarre as Pogba though.

No sign of Juve slowing down without him. They still won't stop winning and just dumped my Milan side out of the cup.

That happened in FM15 as well. A player is worth £15m. I bid £18m for him - not even accepted. Towards the end of the window, another team bids £11m gets accepted and he goes there. Like what the feck?

Sigh Ox Chamberlain out for 3-4 months. Gives me the chance to play Campbell and rotate Gnabry in :)

Have managed to acquire Martial from United :-) they were floundering for a long time at 18th under Hiddink who only played him in the U21s. Hoping he comes good because Morata is really banging in the goals in my second season here. Also landed Romangoli or however you spell his name from Milan. Big talent in central defence!

Usually it's because they become unhappy and listed by request after your bid being rejected.

Another transfer just pre-arranged for January, and the English revolution at Old Trafford continues at pace.

Had I a few more spends, I could have landed Alli too, for a similar price, but maybe that'll happen in January when I get my sellers hat on.

On pitch, we're 3rd in the league after 8 games, 4 points behind Leicester(Okazaki, Vardy are shredding teams, Albrighton has been 5th best player in the league so far) and heading our soft CL group. I'm not too impressed with our play yet, still blowing a bit hot and cold, quite "Van Gaal-ey".

Oh, and old man Rooney just popped his hip, and will be out 3 months. Which is a shame, he's been absolutely killing it for me as CM(a).

I got Dier for 43 and he's been a revelation. Went for Iver Fossum instead of Ali and he's really good for a central midfield option too.

I'm managing Milan, think I'm in my 8th season, I have 4 Serie A titles, 2 Italian Cups and 4 Champions League. I have an all Italian squad bar Martial, Guedes and Januajz (who I just sold to Valencia). I do have a pretty heavily edited game though. Lazio, Juventus, Inter, Fiorentina, Roma, Chievo. Palermo and Sampdoria have been given incredible transfer budgets and total cash. Its resulted in Serie A being far away the best league in the world, the last 6 CL and Europa winners have been Italian clubs, with 4 all Italian finals in both competitions.

Its made the league extremely fun, as half the teams can put up a title challenge, I have a big game every other game. Juventus have Kane and Aubameyang leading the line, Inter have Berradi, Embolo and a regen with a 197PA. Even teams in the league without big money benefit. Roma signed a striker from Spezia fo £50m and Spezia spunked most of it on some insane Somalian regen

Despite all this success, I still only average 60k in attendance, 20k off of the maximum. It has increased by double since I started though. Just a pain as I want a new stadium but the board keep telling me the attendance doesn't require a new stadium

Any chance of a screenshot of the Somalian regen?

He's definitely insane though!
Geez....

I have a Portuguese right back that I don't really want to sell. But he's ruining my all Italian policy.

Edit: Just realised his PPM is stays back at all times. Does that hinder his attributes? I'm sure he could tear it up in attacking areas

Yeah, that'll hold him back. Long throws 16 and strength 17, I hope you've had him learn bullet throws......

I literally am pretty lazy when making players learn new PPM's  especially full backs, I only really do it for midfielders and strikers. Might try the long throw one though..

I rarely train PPM's to be honest, I'm usually indecisive with what I want them to have, and if they perform without them, all well and good. I'm religious with bullet throws though, anyone with the attributes gets them. Nothing like an extra way of causing havoc in the box.

The revolution of United continues at pace, with a massive January window.

The odd thing is, because of how I have structured the deals, I actually still have money to spend.

Squad is almost right too, with 16 English players, I UK&Ire and 6 from further afield, only because I couldn't find a buyer for Basti or De Gea this window, I'm sure one or both will go next summer.

Bloody hell. 45 for McCarthy??

Aye, to be honest, well overpaid, but he makes sense in a number of ways, 1 he's a better pure holding mid than Schneiderlin(or a better ball winner, should I need), 2 he fits my primarily English+UK&Ire plans and very importantly, Man Utd should always have the best Irishman in their squad, which hasn't been the case in real life in a long time.

To be honest, this whole season has been marked by vast overspending, but I don't mind as I have my core sorted straight away, and now can cherry pick as the best players to suit my needs become available.

Stones, Berahino, Targett, Gnoukouri(slightly), Dier, McCarthy, Hughes(slightly) and Alli(especially) are all players I'd consider overly expensive.

On the flip side, it's made up by getting great deals on Bernardo Silva, Cook, Berardi and Butland.

Ah now it all makes sense. Just won the title with Arsenal in my second season with them. Fighting Real and Bayern off Morata who wants to leave. Slapped a 70m price tag and they backed off and now he's happy to stay

Not going to sign anyone this window barring departures because all my youngsters are coming good. Plenty of attackers in Morata, Martial, Gnabry, Ozil, Ox, Walcott, Sanchez. Kramer and Coquelin are superb enforcers in midfield while Fossum and Ramsey keep things ticking. Ter Stegen in goal for 37m :D Fecked Cech off to Everton for 1m.

Yup, I'm planning on only having max five non UK players in my 1st team in the long run, and at least twelve Englishmen.

Morata's a monster, nice work scaring off Real and Bayern. I have no idea why Arsenal never play Coq in this and always transfer list him. Usually a real bargain buy too! Also completely unsure why Everton only ever buy really old keepers, especially when there are plenty of handy young keepers they could easily afford.

United are worse though. They keep going for mediocre signings that don't really give them any direction. They've been sitting 6-8th the last 2 seasons I've been at Arsenal signing players like Barzagli, Rolan, and even paying 10.75m for a 30 year old Carzola from me. All the while sticking with Rooney who's only hit 8 goals in 28 games for them and letting Morgan rot on the bench till I came in and put in a bid for him. Also, they released Martial last season to me for 27m. Bargain.

Yeah, United are a bigger shambles in this than they are in real life, absolutely crazy.

Never really, plain 'ol goalkeeper has always served me well, though I've been tempted to find one with class throwing to teach the counter attack ppm and play as a sweeper attack.

Ergh. I would like to have that but the 5 games I played Stegen as sweeper, bloody defenders kept bungling things up in the box. It was a circus act. Think I won 2 and drew 3 because of silly late concedes.

Sweeper keepers are terrible whenever I've tried it.

So to make myself feel better I started a new kind of 'cheat' game with the intention of revamping United. I gave us a huge budget, edited the potential a bit of our young players like Fosu-Mensah, BoJack, Varela, Rashford, etc...

Took over as manager and I shifted out most the staff and most of the squad. I think I only kept de Gea, Martial, Memphis, Schneiderlin, Schweini, Smalling, Darmian, Herrera and Shaw from the 'big' names. Got rid of all the wingers because I intend to play a narrow 4-3-3 and will convert Memphis to a forward. I brought through the aforementioned youngsters and bought Pogba, Mustafi, Gabriel Barbosa, Bonucci, Lukaku and a couple of young South Americans. I brought in all new staff with better stats, better physios, scouts spread out around the world, etc...

I changed some of our affiliated clubs to benefit us a bit more and brought in better specialized coaches to cover every aspect of it. Worked on a tactic that suits the players and it's going pretty well so far. I beat Liverpool 5 - 0 an Anfield in my second game and didn't concede til I lost 3 - 0 away to Chelsea. I think I'm about 3rd at the moment after 7 games. Team is:

de Gea
Darmian - Smalling - Bonucci - Shaw
Pogba - Schwein - Schneid
Memphis - Lukaku - Martial

Bench: Mustafi, Varela, BoJack, Fosu-Mensah, Herrera, Gabriel Barbosa, Rashford.

Since the update the match engine seems fecked up. My players are sliding across the pitch instead of walking or running. Anyone else notice anything funny on their match engine?

Well so far I have played half a season in my Manchester United Youth Save and it's going extremely well for some reason, leading the PL by 12 points after 25 games. Sold off a lot of first team players that weren't good enough to be starters and filled the backup with youngsters I brought in or players from the reserve with some minor exceptions.

My first eleven looks something like this. In brackets, if it's just a number, is the remaining length of the contract and a HG if they either already are HG or a HG+number to mark how many years are left for them to be HG:

De Gea(4)
Darmian(4) -- Smalling(3) -- Rojo(4) -- Shaw(HG2)
Schneiderlin(4) -- Schweinsteiger(4)
Januzaj(HG) -- Mata(3) -- Dembélé(HG3)
Rooney(4)

For the youngsters I'll add the age at which I brought them in, if I bought them:
Donnarumma(16_HG3)
Passlack(17_HG3) -- Jones(3) -- McNair(HG) -- Henry(18_HG3)
Cook(18_HG3) -- Besuschkow(18_HG3)
Lingard(HG) -- Pereira(HG) -- Martial(4)
Eggstein(18_HG3)

Passlack and Dembélé so far have been the real shining lights of my younglings both performing exceptionally well. Cook and Besuschkow also had some good performances so far. The rest is a pretty mixed back and also not really at the strength to really play PL yet. Donnarumma hasn't really made any appearance for me yet as he has only been brought in, in january and the Carling Cup games are almost over. Romero will probably remain my backup keeper for the rest of the season and Donnarumma will play in the reserves. Next season when I have gotten rid of Romero Donna will move up the ranks.

So Martial and Jones are so far the exceptions to my rule but mainly because I wasn't going to get rid of them so far. Also Martial is my top scorer as a striker atm and Eggstein actually isn't really good enough to be a real backup, might never really be since he is only rated 3 1/2 stars but his stats are decent for the role I want him to play.

I desperately need to find quality CBs though and I'm looking if I can sell Rojo or Jones next summer, whoever gets an offer first is out but I guess I would prefer to keep Rojo since he is left footed, I'm like LvG in that regard. Tuanzebe looks like a decent talent in the reserves but still some way off before I would trust him in the PL so I can only pray for Smalling and Rojo not to get injured atm.
