Gaming Football Manager 2016

Anyone got any good logo mega packs? Tried downloading the "Smooth 16" and "TCM" i think it was called and they both stop at 99%. Also how do i put skins on. Ive downloaded a skin put it in the skins folder but it doesn't show up in the preferences menu?

So this is on sale on Steam right now, and the most recent version I have is 2011 (we still have Berbatov and Bebe is a wonderkid...) so thinking an update might not be a bad idea.
The thing that puts me off though is every year people moan about how they've fecked up at least one aspect of it which makes it virtually unplayable without ridiculous things happening in almost every match, but I've not seen it about this/last year's, so is it worth getting? Seems like it's changed a lot since the version I have.

So in 2018 of my save with Derby and I realize that I don't have any physio's, 3 coaches and only have 1 scout left  Feck, no idea how I managed to let that happen. Not sure what actual impact they have anyway, as my game has been going pretty normally. Probably wasn't arsed to renew all the contracts once and forgot about them later

Trying to find a new save, need something odd, a youth challenge, a weird country, or some other challenge, been googling this evening, but can't find anything that tempting.

My last attempt at a youth challenge(in Bulgaria) was a nightmare though, because my chairman sold all my players behind my back and I had a squad of 14, including youth teams...

Red Star might be good for it, a couple South American countries start with good facilities. Queen's Park in Scotland have ridiculous facilities and a big stadium because they play at Hampden but you can only offer Amateur deals, they never become even Semi Pro so that one is always a huge challenge. Falkirk and Hamilton also have good facilities to start with. Infact:

Have a go through that.

Cheers, I'll have a good look through, skimming and I see a few I played as in 15, Crewe(I always end up as Crewe at some point), Falkirk, Strasbourg.

The game still needs to sort out AI transfers. Barcelona are refusing to buy anyone decent despite them struggling to make the top 4. They still have pique as a starter at 36. Suarez left due to no champions league. Barca replace him with a Turkish newgen who hasn't played much at all.

Their midfield is shit. Messi only scored 3 goals last season and he still starts every game as their lone striker.

Has anyone ever played a super non-league database and can give me some tips on how to find players willing to join? I've had two promotions now and I'm starting life in the Isthmian D1 North (two promotions away from Conference North/South, but I can't sign anyone who would improve my side. There's still the issue of players not wanting to relocate to join me etc too, so I'm resorted to just searching through the release lists of all local clubs and hoping to find someone desperate enough to join.

Can anyone offer any advice? Or even just a link to a forum thread/website where people are discussing their real lower league saves?

Going to try a Milan save. Making it an all Italian squad. Was thinking Roma at first but, I don't want Champions League football in the first season.

Finished 3rd in the League and won the FA Cup (Absolutely shat on City 4-0 by playing on the counter) with Everton. Lukaku is simply a god on this game though, scored 31 in the league to be top scorer and 37 in all competitions. Best striker i've ever had. Stones on the other hand is being a tit and wants to leave still apparently, going to keep trying but if he wants really big wages i might let him go.

I moved there after 2 seasons at United. They were in an absolute mess having finished 9th the previous season, not even qualifying for the Europa. Had an absolutely terrible start with 2 losses and 4 draws in the first 6 games taking me to 19th place. The media pressure started but have gone on a superb 14 game run since with 1q wins and 3 draws. Really enjoyable save especially as I cant buy any established top player because their reputation has taken an absolute battering in 2yrs. See it getting boring in 2 seasons though so I'll probably move on to Germany after that.

Did people manage to keep Stones? He's being a cock on my save, think i'm going to sell.

This game is dumb. Both Stones and Deulofeu are refusing to accept contracts unless there is a minimum fee clause which i'm just not willing to accept. After one bloody season where we finish 3rd and win the Fa Cup. Ffs.

Burton Albion are a decent save if anyone fancies it. 10 points clear in the championship with my team. They have a new stadium and top class training facilities as they train at St George's park. You can easily get promoted from league one with the current squad they have.

Increasing the wage not working?

Increasing the wage not working?

It would probably work if i gave them both 130/140k per week contracts which i'm just not willing to do as it will mean when it comes to giving other players contracts they'll also want silly money and i didn't get a big transfer budget. Wages are always broken on this game. I remember Cina saying Darmian was wanting 200k from him, it's just silly.

Put in absurd clauses then. 30 goals a season gives a Mil. Won't ever be activated for stones or Deulofeu :p

True, but then i feel like i'm cheating the game when they should just program it correctly... :p

I used to only manage in Serie A but got put off in recent versions where teams would win the league with like 70 points! But I know Juventus are pretty strong in this years version. But my plan is to try to make it like the Serie A of the 90s. Going to edit the database and give 6-7 teams bundles of cash and see how it pans out.

I did this with my Atletico save after teams just stagnated. Took over at Barca/Sevilla/Malaga just for the summer transfer window, gave them tons of money and signed good players for them. Turned Sevilla and Malaga into top four contenders and Barca great once again. Only problem was my Atletico side were still miles ahead of everyone in Europe, so I will set some limitations for my Milan save.

I'm at Milan and got a tasty budget. I doubt it'd be any different for juve, Inter, napoli or romantic. Juve have a superb team as you rightly said. I had bought Pogba to Utd in the 2nd season though :p

It's really close atm. 20 odd games in iirc and me, juve and Inter are all within a point off each other at the top. Napoli not far behind iirc.

I started a youth academy challenge, it's quite the punch in the balls after sorting the club out, getting on a good run of form, looking nailed on for promotion to basically lose my entire front line cause they won't sign contracts, to West Ham and Newcastle :/

My have started in too low a league, damn you FC United!

Ah well there is always the next youth intake :D

I've started okay, team has far too many players though and I disable the first transfer window so there will be a lot of unhappy players by the time January comes along. Currently second behind Juventus with 4 wins and 2 draws. One draw was away to Roma so I'm pleased with that. Got Juventus away next though so I'm expecting a defeat.

Bacca and Balotelli are struggling. Might give Luiz Adriano a shot. Honda is my best performer so far.

Yeah, the squad is really bloated. Far too many players. I don't have any of those strikers, balo is at pool I remember but don't know about bacca and adriano. Had menez and immobile as the strikers so I bought Wilson and then werner in Jan.

On my United game we were a week away from Rooney's testimonial against Everton. I had decided to keep Romero and promoted him to the senior squad. I got a message that the players were unhappy at how I'd treated him. At the meeting there was me, Darren Fletcher, Wes Brown and Valencia (whom I just sold)! there were there for Rooney's game and had the cheek to complain about how I run my club.

Did you manage to find a decent one? I bought this and gonna start playing tonight and was going to add badges and kits in first. What site you looking at too? I noticed there isn't much available on Steam workshop other than some dodgy looking ones with no positive ratings.

8 games without a win, Berlusconi asking me what the feck is going on, half the squad are unhappy because I refuse to play them,
Bacca without a goal all season, sliding down the table into 11th, a must win against Lazio and Mario Balotelli nets a hattrick including an injury time winner and we move up to 5th in the table.

All praise Mario.

Finally found a torrent that works and finally played me some FM. Started with United (Obviously) and I got to say, the Tactics screen is just horrendous. The ugliest thing I have seen in my life. Even the Transfer screen and contracts after that is very weird. Not liking the game already :(

I've found quite a few things on FM Scout that seem ok. Depends how much detail you're after though I guess, and I've not actually downloaded any to test them yet...

Yeah, the tactics page is horrible. I hope you read all the comments because most of the torrents available don't work in the 2nd season.

Well, I found one released about a week back whose only complaint I found was something called A Retirement Bug. I'm not sure what it means but it seems players retire at 32, will have to check for myself about that one.

Good for you.

So im into season 5 of my managerial career. Spent 3 seasons at United winning everything and fancied a new challenge. So i took over newly relegated Watford. Every fecker immediately private chatted me demanding to be sold so i pretty much rebuilt the squad in one window. I took half of my United wonderkids with me and in my first season i smashed the championship, won the FA Cup against Chelsea and then the Community Shield against City.

My best performer is Rashford who despite his average stats is actually an incredible forward. He scored a hatrick in my second league game in the prem. Wilson is on the bench, Pereira is abit of a beast as an inside forward, Gribbin refuses to join permanently but was voted player of the season for the championship and has started well in the prem. I made a regen version of me as a GK and im improving greatly :smirk:

Signed a wonderkid striker off Bayern for £23m, Wilshere from Derby and loaned some quality talent from abroad to help add depth to the squad for the Europa League campaign. Hoping for a great season fingers crossed!

Did you pick a side yet? @Stobzilla's suggestion of Red Star is pretty good. I did a save with them one or two years ago. They have a rule in the Serbian league about the number of foreigners you can buy, so it's difficult to get replicate their 1991 feat of winning the Champions League. They also have mental fans, and a bitter rivalry with Partizan, who inhabit the same city.

Alternately, there is Luch-Energiya Vladivostok, a team in the Russian second tier. If they ever qualify for an European competition, I bet some teams will be furious, because:

The red pointer is Vladivostok.

If you want a long-term challenge, do what I did last year. Start with no reputation or license in Oceania. The team I started with was Tupuji Imere, in Vanuatu. Don't move on until you win the continental Champions League, and not before you've played in the FIFA World Club Cup. Europe is your last frontier, South America is second to last. Had a blast when I got to Raja Casablanca in Morocco. I even got to play against Manchester United in the FIFA World Club Cup final, after beating Internacional in the Semis. Lost 0-5 though.

---

Have also done a save with SK Brann Bergen, that was really enjoyable. I produced youngsters, and tried to hold on to them for as long as I could before letting them go abroad. The league eventually got easy, but it was really fun to play in Europe. I played a separate tactic for Europe, that more defensive-minded, and were under pressure for most of the game, but rarely conceded against most teams. I think the furthest I ever got was the Europa League quarter finals, where I lost on penalties. The year after the team quit on me in the knockout and were hammered in the 1st knockout round, so I ended up going to Borussia Mönchengladbach.

In real life, SK Brann had a blip season, and were relegated, but they're back up for this season (might not be in FM, unless you wait for the upcoming patch and start in 2016. In the past they've gotten to quarter-finals of the Cup Winners' Cup in 1996-97 or, and lost 1-1, 0-3 to Liverpool. They've sold some of their best talents since I did the save, so other teams like Stromsgodset and Rosenborg might be better for this year.

Rosenborg used to be ace in Europe by the way, Knocking out A.C. Milan in 1996, when Milan had been in 2 of 3 UCL finals prior. They also beat Dortmund, Real Madrid etc around the same time.

There is also Odd, the team that went 3-0 up against Dortmund in the Europa League earlier this year, and Molde, who now has Solskjaer back in charge, who won their group against Ajax, Fenerbahce, and Celtic. Quite a few fun teams in Norway, really.

---

Or you can do Brazil. Two leagues a year. First the Regional championship, and then the main league. Lost of games to be played. The Da Silvas hail from Fluminense, if you want a United connection. Desportivo Brasil unfortunately doesn't have a division in-game.

---

If none of the above seem interesting, and you have logos installed, I sometimes find teams by clicking around the logo folder, or in-game looking at old teams that won stuff or similar. Then google the team.

I couldn't decide so I started off jobless and am bouncing about until I can make my mind up. Landed at Assyriska in the Sweedish 2nd div, but quit after the first league game when they sold my key player behind my back, then got a job at Hungarian 2nd div side Siofok, winning promotion, then the Hungarian league, after that I moved on to manage Jamaica, where we reached the quarter finals of the 2018 World Cup.

Eventually I'll try Red Star or that Russian side, seems interesting.

I loved playing in Norway in FM15, ended up somehow winning the CL with Stabaek.

Cheers for all the info!

Assyriska are supposed to only have players of Syrian origin, including those with Syrian second nationality. Is that the case in-game? I was planning on fixing that in the editor if not. There was an article about them in The Blizzard as well, which is a tri-monthly pay-what-you-want (digital only, hard copy cost £) publication about football.

Winning the CL with Stabaek is quite an achievement! Must've taken a while.

Also remembered Bröndby, in Denmark. Cool shirts, just to be a lot better than currently. They were the United's 5-0, 6-2 punching bag in the treble season UCL group stage. Somehow managed to get three points through drawing with Bayern München, and Barcelona, helping United get through.
