Gaming Football Manager 2016

Can someone please link me to a good United tactic for this game? I'm not the best at designing my own and literally everyone I've tried has been shit, i'm spending every evening trying out a new tactic but to no success at all.
I'm playing a 4-2-3-1 with the wingers as inside forwards and overlapping full backs. Not sure on my centre mids though, at the moment I have a DLP - Defend and a BBM but no role combination seems to work great for them, they always have average ratings. I guess it's because the majority of my attacks come from the wings, I don't know.

Still in my first season but I'm 2 points off top with 8 games to go, knocked out of Champions League quarter final by Bayern (Coman is a freak by the way), and in the semi's of the FA cup so I'm doing pretty decent with it. I bought Kane as my forward who was banging in the goals for about 15 games, now he's only got 1 in the last 8! Also bought Yarmolenko as a winger and he's been great. I think with 2 or 3 decent signings to fit my formation I'll do even better next season. Only downside is the full backs get tired very quickly as they are non stop up and down all game.

I'm struggling to find a formation to play when I'm the underdog in a game though. Bayern destroyed me.

Haven't had the time to get into this fully yet. Anyone having success with any back 3 formation?

Once I've got a good team going, I always want to go to a 3-2-1-3-1 formation because full backs are underrated in FM.

I've been using this tactic with pretty good results against sides with fast paced attack with good dribblers

You might have better success with high tempo and direct football if you feel that it suits your team more (not enough good passers). I don't have any players with fantastic pace so we aren't likely to outrun most top teams when countering, so I feel like I get the best results trying to keep the ball in the team while still moving forward with enough urgency to constantly keep the opponent running. It tires the opponent and will frustrate them if you keep restricting them from scoring.

That's a great side you have there!

Thanks. All my native players have developed really well too, except for Lukaku. Barkley, Mccarthy and Stones are fantastic. Galloway is solid backup on the left back.

i'm great at OT but i get buttfecked away from home. Lost 4-1 to Chelski and Spuds.

Playing narrower sorted that out for me.

Edit: Realized that this season I have been leaking goals and got spanked 4-0 at the emirates. I was missing DDG, Shaw, Darmian, Pogba, and Memphis though.

I can't keep Zivkovic fit at all. Every time he comes back he gets injured for another couple of months. He's played about 8 matches all season including reserves.

I've had trouble with it at League One standard.

Looks like Stones has been given an upgrade on 15, well deserved.

So, there's one match left to play in the season, and Liverpool need Hull to lose the last game to have any chance of avoiding relegation.

You'll never guess who Hull are playing in the last match.

Tell me you are throwing the game.

@JakeC Stones is a beast, and with 20 natural fitness he can play almost every game. You have a good team too. Bernardo Silva is a steal at £21m!

@Art Vandelay You might just be unlucky, but I think a lot of people rush players back too quickly. Don't field a player coming back from a longer injury if his status is "tired". If his match fitness is really low as well (below 70%) he'll have a great chance of getting injured.

If I have a player coming back from a longer injury I will usually field him 20-45 mins for the reserves first or a 10-20 min sub appearance for the first team. It normally takes 3-5 games of 20-60 mins each until the player is ready for regular football. It sucks, but it's worth it.

Managed to get in Coutinho at the age of 26. He was sick of Liverpool underachiving and wanted out. They wanted 58M for him at first but I managed to get him for 40M up front and 15M for addons which I'm fairly happy with. I now have 5 quality attacking midfielder Bernardo Silva and Januzaj for the right slot and Oliver, Eriksen and Coutinho sharing the central AM and left inside forward spot between them. Basically I can rotate between Oliver, Eriksen and Coutinho by giving everyone of them one game on the left, one in the center and then one game of rest. Keeps them all really fresh and I barely lose any quality in my lineup. Januzaj isn't quite as good as Bernardo Silva but still a very decent backup.

Went back and had a look at my Man Utd save, going quite nicely.

Brought in Veratti, Gabigol, Brendan Galloway, and Tielemans with a loan back, and in January I have Dayot Upamecano(10k, mad) and Reece Oxford(scouts rate him incredibly) joining.

EDIT: Downside is Lingard doing his cruciate, United career over. Still, Memphis, Januzaj, Gabigol, Pereira, Tielemans, Gribbin, well stacked in those areas.

Oh btw anyone else brought Phelan back in as an assistant? He is really great in this game 20 motivation and decent training ratings as well. I think there might be better assistant managers out there but I still have a soft spot for him and always tend to bring him back to Manchester United.

This is the worst version of FM I've played in yonks.

Football Manager 2014
Another year, same old shit in FM. Why do I keep buying this piece of shit?

Football Manager 2012
I genuinely have never been as bored as an FM game as this, the worst one I've played in many years.

Football Manager 2011
This is the worst FM I've played in years and years.

Bonus round
this is the worst FIFA in years.

A rare moment of clarity
it may be flawed but I play it more every year than any other game, hence I always buy it.

Fin.

He's really good.

I'm actually trying to stick with Giggs though, he has great potential.

Yeah, that's what I do. No one gets a start for the first team unless they are 85 match fitness or above. I bring him back slowly, he gets back to full fitness and then in his second match gets carried off without fail. No one else has the same issue but Zivkovic and my coaches don't rate him as injury prone. I think he's missed so much of this season that his chances of ever being a top player are slim at best now.

I'll probably get this soon. I've got to that stage in FM15 where I've given up taking it seriously, and have a front four of Messi - Neymar - Lewandowski - Memphis (with Bale on the bench).

I don't even have any regens that I want to stick with, to see how they develop. That's quite sad. I remember when I was moving from FM12 to 13 I played 12 for hours just to see where my regens finished up.

For people who have signed Pogba, how do you play him? b2b? in a midfield 2 or 3?

So it's the 01,01,2019. Here are 10 attacking players, let's see if you can guess who is number 1,2,3, etc in terms of their CA.

Aguero, Dybala, Hazard, Januzaj, Jovetic, Kagawa, Messi, Pogba, Rakitic, Tadic

answers in spoilers to save those who don't want to know.
