Gaming Football Manager 2016

I can't bring myself to sack Giggs, but I fear I'm going to have to as he's a bit cack really. Plus his advice during matches is often quite mental.
If you can afford to have a shit coach then just demote him, that's what I did. You might have to offer him a rather generous contract with bonuses for avoiding relegation and making the group stages of the CL though.

I love that you can still take some advantages of being a major club in this version. I'm in 2020, managing Bayern, and Mönchengladbach is hot on my tail with only 6 games left of the season. I started bidding silly bids for ALL of their players, which (obviously) got rejected. However, more or less every single player in their squad got upset and their form turned around in an instant.

Been doing that since FM13, and it's so great if you've been dominating a league for a few years. I remember being United, bidding for every Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and City-player all season long, causing their teams to end up mid/below mid-table

I am going to try this.

It's very silly in some ways though. My bid for several of the BM-players actually got accepted, and I had to withdraw my bids for them. The players still got furious that the club didnt allow the transfer to happen  And you never know, one or two players you actually want might turn in a transfer request after a while :D

I'm about ready to give up on it. It's just frustrating. We get chance after chance after chance and never bloody take them. Unless the opposition score one of their 3 chances and then we might equalise. I can't even sell players, Chelsea want Herrera and Rojo they won't even bid when offered them for their market value. Real want Mata, Mata wants to go, they won't bid.

Genius ! Definitely giving that a try.

So apparently City have already turned to shit. My third season and I have won the title again and also have won my third CL title in a row which is rather sad, as it goes to show that again the AI get rapidly worse. Still going to stick it out with United and try to break SAFs records. I also want to see how many seasons I can get done if I only stick with one save game.

Transfers have been broken for years. You could have a superstar valued at 20m and the AI would offer you 10. They have a dud valued at 5 million and want 150m.

Van Gaal got sacked after the first season but became DoF at the club. I got the job and thought be good to see what happens, and he gets sacked immediately randomly after being told I had to work with him.

Swapping Rooney for Welbeck in a straight swap with Arsenal.

Signed Morata for £48m to solve my goalscoring and lack of aerial presence in attack problems. First game he scores 2, we win 3-0. Second game he scores 1 and sets up another 2, we win 6-1 at home to Everton. No more working the ball into the box because my strikers are all midgets with no heads. Crosses are going in and the big man is causing chaos. Then in the 80th minute he gets injured for a month. Couldn't make it up.

I'm completely out of ideas when it comes to twctics for my Leeds team. I'm in my third season and first in the premier league. And it doesn't matter if I'm playing QPR or Man United I'm conceding at least 4 goals a game lol. And my next 4 games are City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs. It could get ugly.

Started an unemployed game, Fulham offered me a job so thought why not. Decent side, but want to buy a right winger as they don't really have anyone there. No idea who to get though.

Edit: Bought Lingard for 3m. Forgot about him but he seems perfect for it.

I always felt that it was lame to use this type of shenanigans, like exploiting corners in fm 2013. The game lost all his attraction.

Spot on, its "a bit of fun" for most, buy the game is a footy simulation and so I try to employ only tactics that I think would actually work in real life. If you tried this in real life the players would spot how disingenuous your offers were from a mile off. Shame the A.I doesn't really.

I'll start acting like I would in real life when this stupid buggy meaay game does.

I always try to buy the game after a couple of patches, otherwise it can be frustrating.

Nothing seems to work for me. Playing a 4-2-3-1 and a 4-4-1-1 with very bad results on my Man Utd save. My strikers miss easy chances, defenders keep making rash tackles and opponents score with every shot.

My defenders and goalkeeper also love to play hoofball even if I tell them to pass it short.

Has anyone played the handheld version of FM?

I'm considering getting it. Is it any good?

haven't played it, but it's supposed to be 'classic' FM, stripped down and similar to what it used to be.

Considering the amount of shit in the normal game these days, that sounds good to me.

There is a version for tablets and a version for smartphones. The latter is Football Manager Mobile 2016 which I have and it's awesome. Not too detailed, simple lay-out, basically the definition of pick-and-play wherever you are, on the toilet, in the train etc.

Trying to start again on this game by managing Atletico. Got to January and not that bored yet so that's a positive.

Sounds perfect. Haven't bought an FM since 2011 and wanted to buy it for when I have some time to kill rather than for detail.

Haven't scored in 4 games this is getting ridiculous. Am I bad or is the ME screwing with me?

Love it when weird stuff like this happens.

In this case, caused by myself, but still great.

After going on a run of winning games by 3 or 4 goals I've drawn 5 and lost 1 of my last 8. Would have been a disaster but for the fact that Chelsea, Arsenal and City's form has been even worse than mine so I'm still top of the league by 3 points. It's a bit crazy how all of the top teams just seem to go through this poor run of form at the exact same time.

De Gea, Darmian, Stones, Mustafi, Shaw, Pogba, Schneiderlin, Bernardo, Ozil, Depay, Martial as my starting XI

With a bench of Smalling, Blind, Passlack, Hoijberg, Januzaj, Zivkovic, Higuain.

Players like Maia, Oxford, Odegaard, Pereria, Wilson, and Jones struggle to make the bench, and with a few wonderkids coming through this is probably the best squad I've ever had on football manager.

I'm really struggling however, to retrain Thiago Maia as a central midfielder. He played Box to Box Midfield over 30 times last season, and he still hasn't improved past 'competent'

His training is selected as bbm, but is there a way to specifically train for a new position?

Pls can someone suggest me tactics to beat Bayern Munich away with our current squad + Luakua?

Alright so heading into the second season with Dortmund. City activated Gundogans release fee for £35m so I signed Youri Tielemans but I'm not sure he's ready yet. I sold Reus to United for £64m and I'm now trying to sign a good, ready to make an impression right away left winger. Any advice? I have about £200m to spend  I already have Berradi on the right with that Serbian youngster as back up. I sent Adnan back even though I extended his loan a week earlier.

I might sign Lewandowski, scout report said I could have him for £45m. Lukaku is available for £33m though..decisions.

Edit: Well feck. Just signed Pogba and Depay for a combined £150m.

So my team is:

GK - Horn
RB - Ginter, Piszceck
CB - Hummels, Sokratis, Ginter
LB - Durm, Schmelzer

CM - Weigl, Nuri Sahin, Tielemans, Pogba, Bender

RW - Zivkovic, Berradi
LW - Depay, Hoffman
AM - Kagawa, Mkhitaryan

Str - Aubamayeng, Ramos

Lukaku has been a beast for me in my four seasons as Everton. He's still my number one striker, but he is only "fairly consistent", and has patches of 4-8 games without scoring. Just not good enough for my standards. Go for Lewandowski or a better regen.

Can someone please link me to a good United tactic for this game? I'm not the best at designing my own and literally everyone I've tried has been shit, i'm spending every evening trying out a new tactic but to no success at all.
