Gaming Football Manager 2016

It's the last week of January and Jerome Boateng demands a new contract. I tell him he deserves one and we'll do it at the end of the season, as I always do. I've never had a player disagree to that, until now. Boateng goes mental, says he's going to tell his mates and the media about how I've treated him. Poor Jerome, slumming it on his £89,000 per week. Pray for Jerome.

My assistant tells me the squad has revolted. Neuer's the ringleader, it seems. "How could think Jerome doesn't deserve a new contract, you mad cnut?". There was no option to say "He does, but in the summer". The only options were to piss off the entire squad and tell them to all do one, or to just say fine, I'll give him a new deal early. So I chose the latter. Everyone's glad that I "saw sense". Set of bastards.

I go to open up a contract offer with Boateng. "My client isn't prepared to enter discussions following the breakdown in previous talks".

Squad > Jerome Boateng > Interaction > Wipe arse with his shirt.

Anyone else find players really struggle with 2 games in a week? I dunno what I'm going to do if I get an injury crisis. Mustaphi is wrecked after playing Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday and he's only a CB.

Jesus Christ, my Salford side are in shambles after my promotion. I've won two out of 7, both away games. I've yet to score a goal at home, and my strikers (6 of them) are yet to score a goal for 10 games++ each. Why I got so many strikers you ask? I've bought one for each of the games I've yet to score.. Now I've bought this sort of superstar, though I've promised him to become captain.... I'm doomed.

Edit: Aaaand he failed to score, and is injured for 2 months.

Edit2: And now I lost four player to injuried for 6 months ++ in a U21-game.......... You wont get the best of me, FM! Bring it on!

These fecking Salford-guys, eh?

Me: Hey boss! Since you guys are judging me by how I develop and nurture youth, maybe we should upgrade our youth setup?
Board: No, that will be too expensive for us.
Me: Ok, how about a senior affiliate for us to generate some extra income?
Board: No, we dont need so little money.

Yep. Managing fitness levels is even more difficult this season. More realistic really. Ideally you need players with high natural fitness, which means they will recover more quickly between matches. I also look to get rid of all injury prone players, and avoid signing ones that are.

I'm seriously struggling this year, can't seem to find a suitable tactic for United, think my main problem is the fact i just look for plug and play tactics.

I can't seem to get a possession tactic to work consistently. Rummenigge keeps reminding me possession football is a philosophy of the club and I'm not quite adhering to it, but I've got a fast-paced, full throttle wing-play formation which is destroying everyone I come up against. I usually end up only having about 45-48% possession, but it just tears the opposition to shreds. The team is set up for pace. When I use a possession tactic, I seem to have a very LvG-esque problem. I afford the opposition very few chances on goal, but I carve out very few of my own.

Possession football is boring anyway. Direct football is way more fun.

I was just thinking that! He is still at QPR. I could offload Lukaku and get a decent amount for him hopefully.

Sunderland - bottom of the league have destroyed me 4-0 scoring all 4 on the counter attack. I had like 30% possession all game. I'm tempted to use the 'become unsackable' feature on the IGE:nervous: Really want this to be my long term save. I managed to win the league with Everton on FM14 and want to replicate that.

He is keeping lukaku out of the side for me. Things are going well apart from an epic 7-1 defeat to man city

Increase your tempo, work the ball into the box, push up at times and press. Play wider too.

You mean decrease tempo yeah? Play out of defence, short passing, retain possession, lower tempo is pretty much required to do a possession game.

I have a 300m transfer budget for my next season  That's just way too much and I don't even know who I'd buy. Enjoy promoting youngsters a lot more, especially as with United you seem to get 1 future world class player every year.

I went 9 games unbeaten and we were looking unstoppable, suddenly from nowhere i lost 4-1 in the exact same game 3 times in a row, i mean the exact same game, 3 different opponents, 1-0 2-0 3-0 3-1 4-1. incredible, switched from 4-3-3 to 4-4-2, we play so much worse, drew 1-1. :wenger:

3rd Season in now with United, I've assembled a very good side.

..................................................De Gea / Romero

Darmian/Chambers ... Zouma / Jones .. Stones / Smalling ..... Shaw / Balanta

.......................Tielemans / Herrera ..... Pogba / Bastian

Reus / Barbosa ................. Götze / Rashford ................... Depay / Januzaj

.................................... Aboubakar / Martial / Wilson

Hitting around 74 points and then 79 points in my first two seasons, I don't really have a strongest team here, I just play based on form/fitness

9 points clear in the Bundesliga with Dortmund with 8 games to go.

Ramos is outperforming Auba. Reus wants to leave, Mkhitaryan wants to leave, subotic wants to leave. I'm dealing with so many cry babies despite doing very well so far.

I had a good possession tactic with my Leeds team which lead to us getting promoted easily in the 2nd season. But now im gonna need a new tactic as i cant keep the ball well enough against the much better teams of the premier league

Ouch...

I'm so top heavy. I have Martial, Barbosa, Memphis, Mata, Gotze, Felipe Anderson, Januzaj and Malcom. I also have Pereira and Wilson out on loan. Martial, Memphis and Barbosa are goal machines and Gotze is a step up from Mata at 10. I think I'll be offloading Mata in the summer and going all out for Pogba. I have good depth everywhere apart from MF.

Are United pretty shite on this? LvG got sacked in January after hovering around 7th or 8th. Simeone took over. He's playing his standard feck-ugly 4-4-2 and getting hammered every week. They're now down in 13th.

In the summer window, LvG brought in Neymar, Varane and Koke. In January, Simeone brought in Pogba and Bale. They're still garbage though.

Oddly, Moyes got the Atletico job when Simeone left, and he's top of La Liga by a point with 6 games to go. Madrid got knocked out of the CL quarters by Dynamo Kiev. Barca and Arsenal didn't get out of the group stage. Celtic are in to the semi finals. They topped the group (which had Barca and Lazio in it). Leigh Griffiths is the top scorer in the CL so far, with 9.

FM16 is nuts.

Was this enough to win the league? In my first two seasons City have been pretty insane, winning the league with 93 points in my first season and pushing me to 92 points in my second season to win the title. It seems to be impossible at this stage to win the league with less then 90 points but I have seen other screen shots from people where they ended up winning the PL in the first season with 78 points. 78 points wouldn't even have gotten you 4th place in my two seasons so far, it's kinda strange that some players seem to experience a much more balanced league picture than I do.

LuaLaku was my big signing and he is smashing them in right left and centre!!! 7 goals in 5 games.

Martial also scored 4, mainly as a sub. Rooney is rubbish, and Im now gonna drop him!

Anyone recombined me an attacking left player for around 25million?

Unbeaten and top of league after 5 games :)

Have a look at Bernardo Silva. Left footed attacking midfield player from AS Monaco I believe. Quite a gem and wasn't too expensive either, 21.5M for me.

Andrija Zivkovic is awesome, scores some really good long range shots into the top corner
Malcolm & Lincoln both Brazilian teenagers that play in any position behind the striker.
& Zakaria Bakkali is worth a good shout too.

In my save Lincoln was the best out of all of them scoring 23 & assisting 18.

Just signed him for 2m!! Looks a steal.

Interesting managing this United squad. Makes you realise how far it is from being a world class team. Frankly speaking, LVG is performing miracles!

I have to admit, despite not winning everything, this years edition is much better than previous years.

I can't seem to buy a win yet i'm desperate to get stuck into this game, can anybody link me to or recommend a tactic i can use, as i'm shit at setting them up myself.

Wow the game is really trying to feck me over right now. De Gea out for 4 more weeks and now my number two Johnstone is out with for 3 weeks as well. I have no third GK, so I have to play a really shitty youth GK who hasn't even a single yellow star as his current rating.

And now I have Schalke, Liverpool, Chelsea, Ajax and Arsenal all before even one of my main GKs is getting back from injury.:nervous:

I think FM-Base.co.uk always has a lot of plug and play tactics floating around. Also have a look at the SIgames forums, they also have a tactics sharing section.

I've tried a few from fm-base but not SIgames i'll have a look now. Cheers

Hah! My Salford side just qualified for the 3rd round in the FA cup, after being unlikely winner against TWO League 1-sides away from home! Hopefully I'll get a tasty draw at home against one of the PL big boys

I got him on a free. He's out of contract after the first season.

Hard to say, really. I've been used to winning everything, dominating and winning promotion after promotion for ages, but everything seems abit harder. The other teams evolve and adapt in a different way than I've been used to, and it just doesnt feel like easy-mode anymore.

Lincoln is only 16 so you have to wait a couple of years if you're signing him for an English team. I've him waiting to join in 2017.

Zivkovic rotates with Berardi on the right for me. Well he did before he got injured for 5 months and now Barbosa is doing it instead. Not very well I might add.

I'm desperate for a striker but have no money and suspect the board won't hand me any in January. Martial, Wilson and Klose just aren't getting it done, they miss sitter after sitter. I got so desperate I signed Michu on a free transfer, but despite registering him he seems to be unavailable to play any matches, even in the reserves.

You can emergency loan goalkeepers from the PL. I had to loan Shay bloody Given in because I accidently agreed to let Romero go on loan to Brighton & Hove Albion in the last month of the season.

Wow oh fecking wow, 3-0 up in the league cup vs league 1 Millwall and somehow lose 4-3. feck off game

My team I put out (2nd season)

Ospina
Vrsajko smalling blind Rojo
Tielemans Maia
Zivkovic M.Pereira Malcom
Aboubakar

So first season, won Bundesliga, German Cup and Europa League with Dortmund - beat Spurs 4-3 in the final.

Bad news is Man City triggered Gundogans release fee. Any world class CM's available to make an impact right away? Verratti isn't interested :(
