Gaming Football Manager 2015

Yeah it's handy, especially for lower league clubs. There've been loads of times I've agreed to sign a quality player from the league above, sometimes the same league, and then the player refuses to even enter contract discussions because of my club's stature in the game.

@Earthquake How many years in did you start having homegrown-at-club regens that were good enough for your first team at Crewe? I'm in 2020 and there's only maybe one player who's at the standard to be a starter and he's just broken his leg on loan, a few are at squad rotation level though.

Also, for anybody else to answer too, shall I go for British players only or purely players through my youth intake? I can't decide. I finished 9th in the Prem in my first season in top flight with Crewe so I've plenty of money and facilities are all top-notch.
Sorry mate, was out of the country, there were two at the club when I joined(not great but reached a usable PL level), I tended to get about one a year that worked out at least useful. I think it was in my 2nd season I got one of the very best, and 4th season I got one of the best players in the game.
Any Fm experts know how to stop a player loosing determination? My hot shot CB's has dropped from 19 to 16 in a month...
Don't tutor them, it's tutors with lower Determination that knock it down.

On the flip side, you can also use players with high Dertermination to raise other players up.

That would be it, shame since he really came on well since I started the tutoring.

It may work to stop training him in a new position if you're already doing it.
That has nothing to do with determination, it's all about tutoring, or this rare time a player just gets a jump in it, where you'll get a message from your assistant saying "due to off field events, player is now more determined(or professional, ambitious) than ever"

I think I have come up with an interesting way to keep players who want to leave, I had a midfielder who wanted to leave for stoke, who met his release clause, so I accepted a lesser bid from West Ham, he eventually chose to move to West Ham ending stokes interest in him and the whole reason for him wanting to leave. Canceled the deal that was in place and hey presto, we have one happy player still at the club.

Edit: Burnley just activated his release clause.

What great FM players (excluding maybe FM14/FM15) have you never watched play in RL? For me it's Rondon. I think i've seen him for Venezuela but can't remember. Will be fun to follow his progress at WBA. Can't wait for Lucas Romero (never seen him play) to make the move across the pond.

Other side of the coin, what CM/FM great have you watched in RL that you think others might not have? Kennedy Bakirciouglu comes to mind for me.

What's the deal with maximum wage allowed? Is there any way to increase it? I've won back to back promotions with Leyton Orient and now I'm in the Championship with a transfer budget of £0 and a wage budget of £120k (currently spending £65k) but the max I can offer new players is £7.5k so it's proving difficult to sign anyone who's any good.

Max wage allowed is based on the wage budget - the higher the wage budget the higher the max wage you can offer. Since you have 0 transfer budget you can't really do anything, unless you can ask for more funds and then transfer it to the wages?

How
Real would be piss easy I reckon! I might do the same, and I'll go for United. Gonna use a transfer update so it's got this summer's transfers too.

How do you do a transfer update? What does that mean?

You download the latest patch and then start a new game, it gives you a choice of the summer or winter transfers to start with

How long? What club? What money-making/saving tactics did you use? I always want to do something like this but always give up after a while.

9 years with United. Not really my intention to do that from the start though.Just get bored of the games after winning everything and decided to make things more challenging by selling the star players every year whilst still maintaining strong enough squad to win the league and CL every year.

Ah, okay. Are you going to sign someone ridiculous?

Ronaldo and Messi both already got very old so I can't think of any. It's fun to have a squad most of them are homegrown though (signed at 16-18 or through youth intake).Tielemanns and Roberts are my only two "big buys" who still remain at the club as I just sold Pogba and Jones this summer.

Career with Nottingham so far:

S1: Won Championship & FA cup.
S2: 4th in PL.
S3: Won PL & FA cup.
S4: Won PL & CL.

Brendan Rodgers in charge of Real. Roberto Martinez at Barca. Guardiola at Pool. :wenger:

Just started off my season with Wolfsburg. Got no money to spend unfortunately and they guys I wanted to offload, they attracted no interest. Not too long into the season and Bas Bost has a broken ankle. 3/4 months playing Bendtner up from :(

Wolfsberg are slightly tricky season one, but after that can become a powerhouse.

I found it very handy to get loans with buy clauses to set you up, players like Kranvitter, Fierro, Mammana, lots can be picked up this way.

Yeah I've found it a bit tricky so far. Only 9 games in and 5th so can't complain too much. Might have to look into those guys as I didn't even make any loan signings.

Things aren't going well at Crewe, 11 games in to the season and I am still without a win, have tended off both the board and players with the bedding in young players line, but the wolf is at the door.

So, after the first 11 games I went unbeaten in the league and ended up winning the championship on goal difference over Southampton.

I've joined United in 2025 after winning the eriedivisie with ADO Den Haag along with the dutch cup, I've won the spanish cup and la liga with Villareal and won the world cup and Euros with England, where continuing the jinx I defeated Holland in the final 7-0!! So, all is going well, and all of a sudden a 34 year old Daley Blind, who has been in the United Kingdom for ten fecking years desides he has been unable to settle and wants to go home. So I give him a leave of absence. How the feck has this happened? Surely staying in a country for ten years is testament to you being able to adapt and settle? I had this with Yohann Cabaye at villareal been in spain for two and a half years and leaves because of family issues. Makes no sense.

Got a pre-season friendly where literally every keeper at the club is unavailable so I've had to pick two greyed out players that the game kindly added for me. Pearson Hopkinson and Matty Patterson, the spotlight is on you.

Finished my first season with Wolfsburg. Finished 3rd in the league, 10 points behind Dortmund and 20 points behind Bayern. Lost the Europa League final to Barca (pissed that they were even in it) and also lost the German Cup final to Bayern. A bit tough to take but considering my only singings were some random striker from Spain on loan alongside Saul from Atletico (both in January), I think I did alright. Need money to spend, cause the squad is a bit mediocre.

Recently picked up my SV Darmstadt 98 game again and having pretty incredible success. My second season in the Bundesliga saw me finishing 4th and win the DFB-Pokal. Third Bundesliga season I was able to finish second just 5 points behind Bayern and won the Europa League.

Oh and Liverpool is just a mess in my save. They bought my best attacking midfielder, who isn't that great at all, for € 46M. Now I checked how he had done for them this season. He has made 0 first team appearances. What? 0? That has to be the most expensive reserve player buy in the history of football.

Oh yeah he also earns 115k p/w which is about 4 times of what I paid him.

I've gone back to my Villareal save where I'm bossing it, but I'm like £129m in debt and my graph on the finance page looks horrific. How worrying is this? I'm in 2024 and have won La Liga for the last 5 years.

I should really cash in on one of my strikers if I need to get some money, but I can't decide which one it would be. I play with a one striker formation with plenty of creativity behind it, so I really should be looking for the best attacker which is the Brazilian but I don't like my strikers not having good vision.

What are their personalities?

Depending on personalities, the Colombian will play at a higher level for much longer, looks the more complete forward to me anyway.

Brazilian - determined
Colombian - professional

Why do you say he looks a more complete forward? What attributes do you look for in particular? He is far more complete, and racks up 30+ goals a season and normally 8+ assists whereas Ortega tends to score but not assist (due to low vision and mediocre passing)

Bayern want to buy the Brazilian for £38m and I'm not sure whether to sell..

Professional, perfect, I'd keep the Colombian.

Why's he more complete, his passing is better, he has vision, and the ability to cross if he finds himself out wide(very handy for a striker), can reliably shoot from distance, notably quicker. He has enough of everything that he can do a (useful at least) job in almost every striker role.

Combined with being Professional, and high Natural Fitness, he'll be a fine player well into his 30's, and injuries shouldn't impact him so much.

Don't get me wrong, the Brazilian is a great and pretty complete player too, better technically with his Dribbling and First Touch, and his Jumping Reach means he's better in the air despite slightly weaker Heading. In a straight one or the other, I'd pick the Colombian though.

Can you screencap your finances screen? Debt isn't that much to worry about, unless you're sinking a really high amount every month.

Do you pay for players in instalments a lot? IIRC that all counts towards debt.

@Earthquake Yeah I pay a lot in installments, although I never spend big apart from in my latest season where I paid £40m on a player, a lot in installments if I recall.

I forgot we'd built a new stadium in 2022, that's probably the cause of most of the debt..
