Gaming Football Manager 2015

Me and my mate played one once, it runs amazingly on the steam servers and the game doesn't really feel slow or laboured. I prefer FM Classic and a 2D pitch though so hopefully that won't bother anybody.

I'm a Classic player too, though I preferred 2d in 14, I've been using 3d this year. Tbh, I'm happy either way.

I know that too, also despite getting those numbers possession wise, the board is barely satisfied with a possession style of football. It annoys me because they also want me to play attacking football too. Its impossible to get both in this game.
Your board are Man Utd fans?

No I am managing United. I was England manager now I am United's manager. I started in Holland with ADO Den Haag and turned them into a force, even after I left they won trophies and despite a dip the season that just ended last I played, they won it again! Been through a few managers, mainly the board being impatient, then I did the same with Villareal, first season I was undefeated but came second to a crazy Barca team managed by...Brendan Rodgers. Won it the season after, and departed early in my third season to join England. I've won everything with United, but I want to create a younger and brighter team by the time I leave so I'm gonna stay for eight years. Then maybe go to Germany or Italy, even France maybe. A team with money but needs that one manager to gel everything and win the league!

Lads. I don't want to get too ahead of myself here, but I am just coming to the end of the winter break and we are still undefeated in all competitions! Although if we get past Grasshoppers (lol) in our round of 32 Europa League game then we face either Betis or Inter.

Well no longer undefeated which is annoying but I've wrapped up the league title with 5 games left, have the qtr final of the cup next.

In the Europa league it's going well.

Grasshoppers 1-1 shahktar
Shahktar 2-1 Grasshoppers.

Inter 1-2 Shahktar
Shahktar 2-0 Inter.

Shahktar 1-0 Leverkuson
Leverkuson 1-2 Shahktar.

Man Utd V Shahktar on the semi final.

Does anyone have any links for a 15/16 kit pack? Dying to get back into the game now that LFC Marshall's latest (and last ever!) data pack has been released.

Thanks.

EDIT: Found a few different ones on the old googletube

Paused the game to make a sub, and noticed this. I wonder if that was dissent?

Mental image of Marriner having a Gollum moment now.

One of my regens is listed as my son...the only problem is he's white so I know he's not mine

Pretty sure that just happens if you click on the ref

Yeah, common sense took over and I clicked another ref, whose name appeared grey. They were in a grey shirt.

So that's that. Little bit disappointed now.

I win the Ukranian double but got torn apart by United in the Europa league semi final. Started the new season with Shahktar but I lost interest pretty much so I resigned.

Within a week Watford sacked their manager and came knocking, they were 7th in the championship after 3 games so I have no idea why they sacked their manager.

It is one of the unbalanced sides I've ever inherited across all versions of the game. They had 5 registered defenders and one 16 year old in the reserves. 3 centre midfielders and 5 strikers. Everybody else were wingers including Jordem Ibe who the got in on loan because apparently the 15 wingers the already had wasn't enough.

I went shopping right away and signed corluka and Djouru on frees, 2 natural right backs, a left back and a defensive midfielder before the window closed. I desperately need more depth and certainly need more midfield players.

We just had a run on Saturday - Tuesday - Saturday - Wednesday - Saturday - Tuesday - Saturday and due to the lack of depth my whole squad are knackered. We're second though and 2 points behind the leaders wolves. I fancy our chances of winning the title but I have zero idea how we're going to stay up if we do win the league.

So I led Watford to promotion and then kept them in the prem finishing 14th on a budget suited to most league 1 clubs, media predicted we'd finish 20th. I also took us to the league cup final where we sadly got hammered 4-0 by Chelsea. I bought a couple of players and was all set to aim for a Europa league spot when out of nowhere Belgium offered me the managers job. I took it and resigned from Watford, and promptly won my qualification group followed by winning the World Cup!

I them resigned as international management is a tad on the boring side and got offered the Newcastle job. Should be fun. They were 18th when I took over played 6 won 5 drawn 1 so far and we're 10th.

I'm loving the passion of away fans in Morocco.

This one guy (pictured) travelled alone to support his beloved Kénitra against my Raja Casablanca side.

But as the score worsened, and as his team was 3-0 down, he lit himself on fire to relieve his suffering heart.

Thinking of doing an FM experiment in the next game with a twist.

10-15 people can put themselves into the game in a Redcafe FC team that starts in the bottom English league and all the youngest you can be with fixed high potential and loyalty.

The twist is that we will be controlling the team. Someone (each person in the experiment) will take over the save in a seasonal rotation and see how far we get. The only rule in place transfer wise would be to not sell anyone in the experiment to try and keep us all at the club.

That sounds cool, I would be well up for that.

I tried to mix it up a little bit by starting a save game and then going on holiday for 20 years to be at the stage where I knew none of the players attached to a squad. My only problem was that I gave myself a too low stature in the game and when I was sacked as Bangor manager I couldn't get another job.

Took too long to simulate again to try again with different variables

Why don't you just choose the option where you start the game with only regenerated players? Surely that's much easier than waiting for 20 years

You can still tell who some players are regens of, I'm pretty sure? Like I did it with United before and had a 6'1" left footed striker who was Van Persie, a keeper almost identical to De Gea and Barca definitely had Messi's regen.

Might have been a big stroke of luck and a complete coincidence mind.

They might just alter their stats and name slightly, must admit I didn't spent too much time looking into it. Would be strange offering that option to not completely change them though, I just assume the best teams get the better regens etc.

Yeah, they just change the names, some stat tweaks, and delete their history, it's quite easy to pick out who is who.

Sometimes it's fun and you get Wayne Rooney the Brazillian, or an English Van Persie, or such.

Anyone find that transfer updates feck up the game?

Updated with the latest patch and weird things have been happening.

Spurs won the league with Charlie Austin their top scorer! Lukaku top scorer with 35 league goals (Everton finished 2nd).

Villa, Stoke, Newcastle relegated. Chelsea 5th. Liverpool 9th. Arsenal 10th.

Arsenal's big signing? McGeady from Everton. £20m.

Van Gaal managing Southampton.

I could go on!

I think FM 2010 was the last version where that option actually filled the game with made up players. Now it's just the actual players with a few tweaks here and there, mainly nationality and a couple of stat changes.

Ah right, more shortcuts not surprising ha

I think hotseat games work best in FM if you change every 2/3 months, not only does it mean people get a go more than once every 10 game years but having a schizophrenic manager is great fun.

For a laugh I decided to but the 'perfect striker' in a conference North side to see how they get on. He got 19 goals in 6 games.

I started a new game with Brighton last night.

Could do with a good championship quality striker who can play as a lone striker (I play with wingers/inside forwards).

Any tips? Transfer budget is £1.7 mil.

I think Shangai East Asia may be my new favourite team on this, from an AI perspective.

2016: Peter Crouch and Jermaine Defoe join.
2017: Philippe Senderos and Joleon Lescott join.
2018: Emmanuel Adebayor joins.
2019: Giuseppe Rossi and Chris Brunt join.

Not a single one of them remains there after the one year (although I'm still waiting to see with Rossi and Brunt).

I hardly ever see Premier League/ex-Premier League players going to the MLS or Qatar, or those other places that they tend to in real life, and yet here's a club (in a league which I don't have activated), signing up players who, whilst not amazing, and almost certainly past it, should have decent enough in-game reputations to find better than that.

This guy (my goalkeeper) is driving me crazy. Yes, that's the halfway line. No, it wasn't a set piece. Even my defender (closest to him, in white) is like 'pass me the fecking ball and head back, you moron.'

Best option for the championship is try to get a premier league quality striker in on loan or look for free transfers. Wilson always worked really well for me on loan and then you could carry him in the premier league for another season on loan if United lets you. I used Nottingham forest and Britt Assombalonga (spelling?) was a beast alongside him.

Does the fact you said he is driving you crazy mean he does that on a regular basis?

Don't be afraid. Embrace the craziness.

Yeah, he does. Works out most of the time, but it's frustrating to see long shots flying towards an empty goal.
Luckily, he has a pretty sweet pass on him so his outside-the-box thinking has lead to goals a couple of times.
He plays really well in big games too, but then he lets in 4 goals against A.C. Pisa.

Don't be afraid. Embrace the craziness.

He does make things interesting. I'll give him that.

Found one by chance on my save. Both China and USA.

And Haris Seferovic, who had played several years for Man Utd, just signed for Al-Jaish from Qatar. Only ones I've noticed so far.

In the middle of a very enjoyable save with Boro at the minute.

Won in the play-offs in my first season to get promoted which I was happy enough with. Finished a respectable 10th in my first season in the Prem and just finished my 3rd season, finishing 4th and securing European football.

I've signed both Jese and Munir on pre-contract agreements so they're both due to come in, and just signed Bernd Leno for £8.5m. Got a few loan players who are doing the business as well - Lucas Boye and Zivkovic upfront (going to try and sign both of these permanently when I get home I think although not sure if that's going to be overkill with Munir and Jese coming in?) and then a central midfield pairing of Lucas Silva and Oliver (who has been my best player by a mile).

I've haven't played this game much. Started a United save yesterday because of the recent FM16 release.

Couldn't get rid of Rooney even though he was heavily wanted and I told him he could go (even managed to keep the morale up). Smalling wants to go to Chelsea because they are "a bigger club" (wtf FM?)

Then there's this.

I thought FM was strictly about stats. How do they manage to get this wrong?
