Hmmm, yeah, finances are a touch dodgy, nothing to get too worked up about.

So,if you sell the Brazilian for 38m, you're getting about 7.5m to spend, 11.5 including your current budget, have you a good prospect to back up your other striker? 10m should be plenty to pick up a cracking prospect to back him up.

No point selling him if it's going to weaken your side long term though.

EDIT: I probably would sell a few guys and get the Balance back in the black, but I'm especially a fan of keeping a young cheap squad if possible, and using prospects for rotation rather than backup level players.
 
United is so easy on this game. It's 2020 and I've won every league title, every CL title apart from the first season when United aren't in it, won the CWC every time, and regularly lift the FA and League Cups. The only things that stopped me from moving clubs are a) the regens, and b) my interest typically wanes when I'm not managing United. I haven't bought a 'first team' player for a couple of years because I'm looking to bring through the youth players, and some of them look fantastic. I've tried selling Neymar and Messi to help speed their development, but so far nobody bites. Having trouble offloading them because of their insane wages. Might offload Pogba too, because I've got an abundance of young promising midfielders and they (and my AMR/Ls) are already moaning about a lack of game time. You're 18 FFS, wait your turn!!!
 
The AI is so stupid sometimes. Just bought Timo Horn off of Dortmund on transfer deadline day due to having a release clause of 5.75M €. :lol:

He is one of the best GKs in the game and has such a stupid release clause?
 
a couple of question regarding staff:
1) physio: Is only Physiotherapy important, or does he also need other stats as well?
2) scout: Do scouts with higher determination/motivation/discipline scout nations faster?
3) Is a DoF of any use if my HotY is doing all the youth-intake stuff. He doesnt have any responsibilities left, so I guess I can just sack him?
 
Going to try an make Leverkusen a super power, never played with them before. Got some cracking young talents such as Leno, Jedvaj, Tah, Wendell, Kramer, Brandt, Heung-Min, Calhanoglu, Pohjanpalo and Oztunali. Excellent base to work with, only need a few additions.

Afaik adaptability makes scouts work more efficiently in countries they aren't already familiar with.

I did that back on FM09, still have the save. Played until around 2064. Utterly dominated for around 30 years :D
 
As per usual I have problems with skins... I add them to the correct folder, but they don't show up in game. Tried deleting cache, moving the folder (editor data) back and forth etc. I have a few skins right now but they don't work that well on laptop resolution so trying to add a few more, but it won't work. Anyone have any ideas?

1) From my recollection of previous games, physiotherapy is the most important stat, but the role is also helped by more general ones like fitness or management in ways that are probably only fully known to the game developers.
2) As far as I can recall, the skill and knowledge level of scouts effects the accuracy and reach of his reports rather than the speed he will complete assignments. If you are sending a scout to a previously unknown country, adaptability is probably the most important in this regard.
 
My second season at Wolfsburg is nearly over. Big improvement but still a way to go against the top teams.

CL: Lost in the QF to Juventus 6-2. They tonked me in the first leg 5-1.
German cup: In the final vs Dortmund (they knocked out Bayern)
Bundesliga: 2 games left. I'm currently top though only 3 points clear of Bayern (they have a superior GD too). I did have an 8 point advantage but slipped up in recent weeks. Bayern haven't lost a game yet and have only conceded 8 goals in the league.

Who are my final two games against? Bayern and Dortmund. Both away. I fecked it. I mean it's possible but Bayern are so fecking hard for me to play against. The two times I didn't lose to them I rode a huge amount of luck.
 
My best full strength XI is;

Benaglio; Darmian, Musacchio, Balanta, Jonathan Silva; Illaramendi, McCarthy; Schurlle, KdB, Vieirinha; Alcácer

Didn't realease they had release clauses so I lost Ricardo Rodriguez for £22m and Luiz Gustavo for £26m. KdB wanted to leave too but I got him to stay, now with a £44m release clause.


Problem I have is depth, the likes of Kalou and Ashley Young (loan) play too much for my liking. I got Ramires on loan who is quite good alongside quite a number of loan players.

For next season, already signed a few players for free in Xavi, Jonny Evans, Henriquez and Gaston Ramirez. Mainly for depth as I don't want so many loan players. Secured Courtois as well for next season!
 
Hmmm, that's a strong enough side. I'd probably try and hold off Bayern, a draw and make it go down to the Dortmund game, where another draw would take the title.

Certainly the two hardest games possible, but I'd fancy your chances.
 
That's what I was thinking, but the way Juve dismantled me when I tried going defensive was worrying. I was 4-0 down at half time, 0 shots on goal, we had around 30% possession with them having over 20 shots on goal.

Think I'll have to park the bus and hope for the best though.
 
5 consecutive La Liga's and 4 consecutive CL's - I think my Villareal save may have become a bit boring.

Yeah, got one other decent CB, not all that good though. Vieirinha isn't even fully fit, I was thinking of having Ramires do a defensive winger role.
 
Okay, so Bayern absolutely walloped me. It only finished 3-0. They had 44 shots, 20 of them on target in comparison to my 2 shots on goal and just the 1 on target. Feck, blown the league.
 
Just played Dortmund in the final. Conceded a last minute equaliser, so I hit my laptop screen which is now completely fecked. Hooked it up to another monitor and we won it in ET :)
 
Loaded up an old save, I'd bounced about a bit, Galway United, Falkirk, OM, and in 2020 had an offer on the table from Man Utd, all they'd done was one FA Cup in 2017, and they had a bafflingly old and average squad.

Still in the transfer window, have already dropped the age five years. They also had only 5 Englishmen in the squad, so I bought a few in, and promoted a few to have 11. I also signed an Irishman, as Man Utd should have one or two Irish in the squad.

The only question I'm unsure of is a 32 year old Mata..... tbh, he's still the best player in the team.

I barely played 15 but I was wondering something. When playing online is there a way to set up a league amongst friends but with say just 8 teams in? Like a custom league.

I don't think so, but I think you can play a versus mode with one off matches and record the league yourselves. Obviously there's no transfers or anything with that but it's probably the closest you're going to get. You can use your offline squads in online versus, I think.

The thing is me and a few mates like to get together and play against each other, if we had an option to do it my way it would prevent 3 hour waits between matches.

Plus we could have a caf league.

As far as I know there isn't a way to add custom databases to online games. The best you could do is choose a league with only a few teams in and go from there.
 
Is there any way to create a loop for scout assignments? I have each one on the duty to scout 3-5 countries and it is really tedious to restart them all the time.


On a different notice, my save with Cambridge is going well. I won the league the first time in 2020. This summer some idiots bought my club and put the transfer business on hold, because they needed time to seal the deal and to discuss my future. They allowed me to continue after wasting almost a month of the transfer window. Last season a couple of players tried to revolt, after I sold my captain during the winter. I really hope I can get rid of those wankers, but apparently nobody is interested. I wonder why…..I picked up Wilson for free last season and after a fantastic season he is back in the English dress and already scored his first goals. That is nice to see. Sadly United isn´t doing well at all. Chelsea dominated the league with Newcastle, City, Arsenal and Liverpool lurking around. I guess I´ll try to win the CL with Cambridge and if that is done I´ll try to lead United to new glory. It is also funny to see how other clubs are always after my players and if I sell them, they fail spectacular. Anyway. Great game. I am really happy I stumbled over this thread. For a long time I thought that this game is fairly bad, but it is fantastic.
 
Bayern are fecking unreal on this. Third season with Wolfsburg (turned down City and Chelsea) and I finally got the better of them in the cup and knocked them out, they started a weakened team, but feck em. I have a slight advantage over them in the league (1 point behind with a game in hand) but they're on a 71 game unbeaten run in the league.
