Gaming Football Manager 2015

Things are cracking away well in Avellino. After a 12th finish in the second season(first in Serie A) and a cup win, I came in 2nd in third, won it in the fourth, with another cup win, but bounced out of Europe easily by Bayern.

February in the fifth season(18/19), I'm leading the league again, still in the cup, and have another CL round of 16 draw against Bayern.

Made a few big money signings, most notably last January signing Ruben Neves for 36m, had him on loan in earlier seasons.

Currently trying to figure out how to balance a 3 man midfield of Neves, Veratti, and Vallejo.

Vallejo as a HB, Veratti as a DLP and Neves RPM sounds
You've no one driving the ball forward in that setup, maybe the RPM?

I usually use a CMa, Neves isn't bad at that, but it's a slight waste of his all round game.

Before he joined it was Vallejo as a DLPd, behind Veratti as a RPM, and Abdelhak Nouri as a CMa. Nouri has since been moved to the wing.

Also, this just happened.....

It's not going to well for me in the Serie A so far, in 18th place after 11 games. 2 straight wins however, which are my first this season, and 2 clean sheets in those games. I do need some tips though, my squad is beyond terrible and I have no money to strengthen but I'd really like to stay in the division to build for the future since my board have decided to build a new stadium and improve both training and youth facilities. I have started playing a lot more defensive, which I've never done before so I guess that's what I need some tips for. My best players are in GK, CM, 1 good DM, good wingers and decent AM. What sort of instructions should I go for? What sort of formation? Trying to play with 2 CDMs at the moment to help with my terrible defense...

Oh and in good news I also got offered the French job, started out brilliantly in Euro Nations Cup which I have no idea what it is, can anyone shed some light on this?

The Nations Cup, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_Nations_League

It's basically going to replace a lot of international friendlies, and some euro qualifiers.

As for the league, not sure what to say, a lot of Italian teams play 3-5-2, 5-3-2 etc variations, might be helpful to use a tactic with wingers and exploit the flanks.

Also, exploit the loan market from other countries, might get players where you won't even have to pay the wages.

@Earthquake why have you converted Vallejo into a midfielder? I can see him working as a halfback but wouldn't use him in any other midfield roles. Obviously I haven't seen the stats of your Vallejo, maybe you have turned him into a great midfielder.

Also, check out Kristoffer Ajer. Hidden gem.

Thanks.

I'm using wingers at the moment, and have been all this time since I don't have enough decent strikers. Still my defense is so terrible it's hard to keep clean sheets or hold on to any lead. I guess I'll try to find some defenders on loan somewhere, my right backs are probably not good enough for Serie B. Is it bad to have too many instructions? I mean with the players I have at my disposal at the moment. Should I just try and keep it simple and hope for the best?

He's a betted DM than centre back, in my opinion. Though he's excellent at either, and I'd happily play him at CB.

That's him in my save.

Ajer can be class, had him in a save before, never failed to impress.

Thanks.

To be honest, at all times less instructions are usually better. Too many just muddy and confuse things.

In the 20/21 season now, won the league 3 times on the trot, and the CL last season.

Deadline day, and a 27 year old Pogba is transfer listed for 45m, his pace isn't great due to injuries, but otherwise a monster.

I should make space in my midfield and sign him, but I'm fairly stacked, with Vallejo, Neves, Aranjo, Taufer, Cristante and a regen with cracking potential.

Perhaps loan out the regen....

Just started with Nottingham. 24 games in, top of the league, undefeated. Beat some team 14-13 on penalties in the league cup (ffs) before losing on penalties away to Everton.

Your squad must be exhausted. That's why I hate extra time/penalties.

Unrelated, do you guys sub or keep playing players when they get minor injuries during games?

Sub straight away unless i've made all subs (if im winning by a margin ill sub them off anyway).

Not if it's just a knock, but if it's a defender or midfielder then as soon as they get the injury symbol I'll sub ASAP. If it's an attacker I'll sub later in the game, but I will probably leave them on a bit longer.

Yeah I also tend to sub straight away. But it makes the game feel so damn unrealistic since there are so many games I use one, two or even all three subs subbing out injured players.

Always sub when the orange icon pops up.

Pogba news, decided not to bother, and continued on my way. Mid Oct, still listed, and I could get him for 32m.

Rude not to at that price.

Shame about that pace, but he's still an absolute monster. Also, accepting 165kpw from me.

I'm considering starting one last FM15 game. I've done pretty much everything besides taking over one of the giants turning them into the absolute #1 worldwide. I remember I had a save with Man City (I know, but it's just a game) on FM14 where I had Suarez, Agüero and Neymar behind Diego Costa, and my transfer budget was around £400m and I didn't have anything in particular to spend it on so I just bought for fun. It was somehow one of my most enjoyable games.

I want to do something similar. But which club? Real Madrid or United?

Real would be piss easy I reckon! I might do the same, and I'll go for United. Gonna use a transfer update so it's got this summer's transfers too.

Nottingham. First season. Won the title. Out on penalties vs Everton in the league cup.

FA cup. Beat Sheff Utd. Beat Bristol City after 2 games. Beat Ipswich after 2 games, extra time no less. Beat Preston.

Then along came Liverpool:

hahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahapoolsucks.jpg

6-0! Spurs await in the final (they beat Utd on penalties).

Kane scores a hattrick in the first half. 3-0. 3-1. 3-2.. 3-3! We win 6-5 on penalties. We went Liverpool CL 2005 on their asses!

Just started my final FM15 game with United. Updated transfers as well. Evans is actually really good, but I just can't keep him so I'm selling him to either Everton or Southampton for £16m. Smalling is shit so I had to buy two centre backs. Laporte for £31m and Otamendi for £30m. Two deals I'm very pleased with. I almost bought Ramos for £60m but I figured Laporte was a better deal for half the price and wages.

Now I have to buy a top class striker, a top class right winger and maybe another CM to play alongside Schweinsteiger. I'm not sure if I can trust Herrera to deliver and I certainly don't trust Schneiderlin. I'd like to keep them though and try them out so I reckon I'll sacrifice Carrick.

Christoph Kramer is a beast.

Since Pogba has lost his pace in my save, I'm thinking of retraining him as an AMC, could be a nightmare for oppos to deal with.
Yeah I reckon AMC would be his best position. You'd get to utilize his shooting skills more when playing him further up the pitch too.

So Henri Lansbury was called up by Roy and made his debut for England. Scored to. Not even sure i'll keep him, he isn't THAT great

I tried it, built a tactic to resemble the 4-4-1-1 of Cantona era Man Utd. Pogba nailed it.

Goal, overlapping the striker on a silky through ball, handy assist, and should have had a second, split their defence and midfield from deep but the striker skied it.

Haven't got the whole thing perfect yet, but it's very promising.

I took over United in the summer of 2015 as mentioned. After going crazy in the window as usual, this is my XI:

De Gea
Darmian - Otamendi - Laporte - Shaw
Thiago Alcantara - Schweinsteiger
De Bruyne - Mata - Memphis
Lewandowski

United should hire me IRL to replace Woody.

I did manage to stay up in Serie A with Virtus Entella, but it sure was close! Previously I've had a very low budget to work with but with me staying up, I got handed £40m and about £3m in wages, so went on a bit of a spending spree, I think I've signed about 12 players, most of them on a free though. I've also managed to upgrade both youth facilities and training facilities for the second year running, and the stadium is on its way, due in 2021. A 21000 seater stadium, which is a bit of an upgrade on my current stadium (4000 ).

I also won UEFA Nations Cup with France (it's 2019).

All in all it's probably the most enjoyable save I've had on FM so far.

I got trashed 4-0 against Arsenal with this exact team in the PL opener. FM is retarded at times.

That's ridiculous. I guess the new players didn't gel or something.
The team finished 7th in the 14-15 season so they were pretty pissed. I called the squad in for a pre-season meeting to try and motivate them but then they got furious at me for calling in for a meeting. They said I wasted their time. I think they're playing shit on purpose to punish me for that meeting.

Those meetings suck. I always save before doing one, since you can never tell what's going to piss off the whole lot of them.
