Gaming Football Manager 2015

I just got promoted to the championship with Cambridge. The pre-season is difficult. Many of my players didn´t want to sign contract extensions without massive rise in pay so I decided to sell most of those feckers. That wasn´t such a great idea, because I struggle to get quality replacements. :nervous:
I bought a couple of decently talented lads on the cheap, but I am not sure if they can keep me up. :wenger:

Best case scenario is to avoid relegation and to build something for the next season.

Started a game with Avellino in Serie B, and handily won promotion by chucking all the loanees and bringing in better ones, Sandro from Barca being key.

14m and 66kpw to survive in Serie A, more loans probably the order of the day.

Having quite the nightmare at the minute. I'm in 2030 and as good as my Debrecen team is, the league still isn't at a great standard. It's got the point that now my team can compete in Europe but too expensive to run in the league and now I've failed FFP two years on a row. We was getting about 15m p/y from CL football and with that missing I've no idea how we're going to get back in. Made 25m in transfers and still failed and now I have a feeling the club and country is gonna fall down the rankings ffs.

Buy players on instalments (48 months).

Gained promotion from Serie B in my first season with Virtus Entella. Finished 4th which meant I was going to the playoffs. Won the semifinal fairly easily against Pescara, and came up against Spezia in the final. In the first game I was 3-0 up at half-time and pretty much through, until a penalty and a goal from nowhere made it 3-2 and a nervy second game away. Went behind 1-0 straight away but won the game 3-2 in the end, after the fattest player in FM and probably my best performer (together with Niklas Hult) scored 2. My stadium takes about 4000 so I guess that it needs to get upgraded, but there is no money so we'll see how that pans out. Really looking forward to Serie A but my squad is paper thin and there is no money but hopefully I'll find a few on free transfer.

I'm not quite sure what's happened here. I finished 3rd in the Bundesliga with Stuttgart which should've gotten me entry into the Champions League - instead I'm not in any European competition at all?! What on Earth is that all about, anyone had this happen before?

I'd guess it depends who won the champions league, or domestic cup competitions? People below you may have gotten automatic qualification based on that.

Or they just hate you.

Nah, Bayern done the treble last season so shouldn't be an issue. Genuinely have no idea unless there's some obscure FFP ruling I've broken... Annoying because all my best players have been promised ECC football to stay so now they're fuming. I finished 3rd ffs!

Hmm yeah. Might be some obscure rule/ffp or a bug :(

Won the cup in my first season in Serie A, but finished 12th in the league, 2nd season is going really well though, decent results in the Europa(qualified from the cup), and sitting 2nd in the league.

Signed Veratti off Chelsea for 15m, which was nice.

Get my new iPad Air 2 tomorrow so I'm looking forward to trying FMC on it :D
Would you mind letting me know how it is?

I've played FM/CM for a long time and when I play, I always go very deep into tactics, transfers, staff, basically everything. I'm curious on how deep the FM versions on iPad are.

It's exactly the same as FM Classic on the PC, except you have to stick with the hard limit of 3 nations.

I've got no idea how FMC is. Never tried it, as I'd always prefer the full version.

Meh, I'll stop being lazy asking around here for stuff I can figure out on google in 10 mins.

I know there are some odd transfers in FM anyway, but there have been some seriously strange decisions in my Crewe save. United released both Jones and Smalling after 2 years, and Chelsea bought Clement Grenier for £11m in August and sold him for free in January.

I managed to get promoted in my second season with Crewe, and then avoided relegation from the Championship narrowly due to having a crazily good string of results in the last 5 games against teams who were promoted or made play-offs.

Got 3 talented AMC in youth intakes, two of which could easily feature now. I lost a keeper who was 174 PA to Newcastle for £325,000 in a tribunal after he rejected my professional offer :(

Do you actually check the CA/PA of your players? Ccccchhheater

On some saves I do yeah, it doesn't really matter to me though because I tend to ignore my scouts star ratings and go for players with attributes and PI that fit my systems.

I haven't done on this Crewe save yet, apart from seeing how good the player I lost was. I wish I'd kept my ignorance now though.

How long did you wait before offering that keeper a contract?

Oh, scouts have just popped up a report, that I could sign(a underdeveloped) Yassine Benzia for 2.1-2.8m.

This is a ridiculous deal, despite me being stacked at striker, torn on it, he could still become a monster.

A week or so? Too long for a keeper of that ability, pah. He was 6'2" as well, normally any decent keepers I get in youth intakes are like 5'9" which is useless.

I sign anyone I think could do a job for me eventually on intake day.

Worst case scenario, you'll sell them in a few years for a mil or so, if they don't develop enough.

Any fellow Crewe players forced to give up on Cooper? Been getting injury after injury for me...if I get a good replacement I may sell him in the Summer, been offered the guts of 1 million from Hull for him during January.

Have high hopes for this player...

Here's a good story:

Two or three versions ago, I started a new game with PSG. As always, one of the first things I did was to go thoroughly through my staff, and look at which improvements I could make. And as always, or at least almost always, I sacked the majority of the idiots. Replacements came in one after one.

One day, a new manager for my reserve team was ready to put pen on paper. It was the legendary Jan Jansen, I could hardly believe that I convinced him to manage my reserves. I don't know if any of you are familiar with Jan Jansen, I assume some of you addicts know about him, but I was very familiar with him at the time, or so I thought. I definitely knew that name. I remember seeing him in previous FM versions managing top clubs and countries etc, being one of the best managers in the game. His history clearly said that he had managed FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Holland and so on.

The funny thing is, I was certain Jan Jansen was a real person. The name had been so familiar for me for several years, I actually thought he was a real manager. Naturally, I started bragging to my mate (who is just as much into football and FM as me) that I had signed Jan Fecking Jansen as the manager for my reserves.

"Who's that?" he asked.
"What? You're telling me you don't know who Jan Jansen is?" I replied.
"Yeah, never heard of him".
" What? He has been the manager of Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Holland and so on" I went.
"Uhh, you're sure you're not talking about Louis van Gaal?" he said.
"What? No, let me show you Jan Jansen on wikipedia".

That's when it got awkward. It turned out Sports Interactive had some licensing issues which prevented them from using LvG's real name so they called him Jan Jansen.

I don't know what's funnier, the fact that Louis van Gaal was the manager for my reserve team or the fact that I thought Jan Jansen was a real legendary manager. I'd say the former, my mate keeps reminding me on this blooper too often.

Wait, what? I'm pretty sure that LVG is on my save as LVG. As we speak, he should be the manager of Swansea...
