How good is FM15?
Loaded up 14 today and for some reason it seems my game is corrupt.
Really good, and i've happily played older games if i haven't liked the new ones. The ME actually seems to understand how i want my team to play. Won the treble second season for Inter. Utd sacked LvG after 3rd in the 1st season and 4th in the 2nd. Have a ridiculous team already, i fear this will become boring pretty fast. Have to manage Utd once, though :). Will prob start a new save soon with a english lower division side like i usually do.

Edit: I took over Utd.

I have the handheld version, it's not as detailed but it was good value and it gives me my fix. I have 2 games going, one with Benfica and one where I was managing United and took up the Ireland job on the side with 2 games left in the qualifiers. I was third on 13 points, Scotland had 16 and a better goal difference and Poland had 12. I drew 0-0 in Poland and beat Gibraltar 6-0 at home, Scotland lost to Germany at home and Georgia away, so I ended up 2nd. Reigning champions with United (Falcao scored about 40 goals for me in his season  ) and currently a point ahead of Chelsea but I've played one game more. I did just draw 1-1 at home to Reading. I was 1-0 down at half time, Hernandez had 2 goals disallowed for offside but also scored off a corner, Juan Iturbe missed 2 penalties (I wasn't aware he was my penalty taker!) and both the rebounds. All in the second half. It was sickening!:mad:

My Benfica team is unstoppable, I've won 2 European Cups with them.

What is the competitiveness like?
I only every play with a friend, I hate doing it solo these days, so that's a problem lol.
I've always found after a few seasons it is to easy to dominate. Teams like Real etc, spend big money on average players and then never use them, so they slowly regress.

I want a good idea of a game, something that has legs. I am looking at Villa, but may go in the Championship. Between me and a friend, we get around 8 seasons in and then leave teams to try and freshen it up, but its never the same

Ye, playing with the greater teams has always been, and still seems, to easy (this is my first save). My most enjoyable saves in the past have been taking a league 2 side to glory. Leyton Orient and Rotherham comes to mind. For it not to get boring i set objectives to fulfill. Like, becoming the best manager ever, winning everything, winning everything in 3 different countries, producing a squad of only home growns, getting a stadium built in your honor, etc.

Does anyone have issues with the columns on the tactics page? (Position, condition, avg rating etc). Resizing the columns seems like a lottery. Sometimes it will resize the column I'm expecting it to, sometimes it will resize a bunch at the same time, and make some of it not visible, even though there appears to be lots of space. Sometimes they just disappear and I can't get them back. Or I'll manage to get them all to fit in just fine, and I'll save the view as a master. Then when I press Continue and go back to the tactics later, one or two of the columns will be gone.

A very minor issue, but it's annoying.

Yeah I get that too, bugs the hell out of me.

No idea why but going to give West Ham a go, not going to touch United until we announce some more transfers

Ugh, hurry up an sign some players! Struggling to have any motivation to start another save.

ehehe.

Managing outside of England in this save, so was kind of surprised when QPR were top 3, but quickly figured out why. Their squad makes it look like they've gotten their hands on some money.

Any tips for the Championship. I'm finding it tough. Got Powell and Ibe as my best two loan signings. So far in the league I'm 15th in the league, after 11 games (won 5, lost 6) and already 6 points a drift from the play offs. Most of my win have been unconvincing at best. Struggling to cope with the amount of games you have to play and despite my squad being relatively large, I'm struggling with injuries too. As if someone gets injured every fecking match.

Any useful Championship signings? Got a bit of cash left over so will have to spend in January.

I've not played FM in years and I do mean years, anyway I'm off work for a week and I ordered it yesterday. Should be with me by Monday.

Is it any good? I had a random read over this thread and seems to be lots of inconsistencies with FM15.

As someone playing this for the first time, any hints / tips are welcomed also!

Oh sht, my bad. within each position you can set a preset style of how to play that role, ie a DM can be anchor man or deep lying playmaker amongst others. Then on top of that you can set whether they attack, defend or support in those roles.

Thanks folks! :)

Makes sense now, Looking forward to getting stuck into it. No doubt I'll be completely addicted to FM15. Here's a preview of the week ahead.....

Didnt get new FM,was wondering how some young Serbian players stand ingame in this version,in reality(before u20 WC) there was 2 most forced names via media from domestic Serbian league,Luka Jovic (Red Star) and Andrija Zivkovic(Partizan)? Thanks in advance

Both of them are big big talents. At least according to my scouts.

I'm not sure if I'll ever win the CL with Fiorentina as every small interest from a bigger club unsettles my players every time.

I snapped up Azpilicueta for 18m after my first season because he was transfer listed. He was excellent. Probably one of the best full backs in the game, especially considering he can play equally well on both sides.
City show interest and he asks to leave because he wants to win the CL and doesn't feel it's realistic here. I try to convince but no use so I decide to say that I'll sell him if an offer comes in that's good. City offer later in the window but only under his market value no matter how I negotiate. I say no. In the same day I say no I negotiate with United for a total fee of 40m. He explains his disappointment in the media over me rejecting the City bid....
Next day a similar conversation comes up but this time about Arsenal and I flat out tell him that I'll sell him for the right price.

This stuff is even happening with my "no name" Italian players. I'll probably start my 3rd season having sold 3 different players that I've bought and played for 1 season.

O, and this loyalty bonus thing. How annoying. They complain about not getting sold and want to leave yet they keep their bonus?

For the 2nd season in a row I start away to Juve. Last season I played them thrice in the first 4 games because of the Italian and European Super Cup. Awful. I'm usually a slow-ish starter compared to the rest of my season.

I see thanks.
Jovic can be a worldie, Zivkovic is class, but usually gets bought by PSG, left to rot, and ends up having a crap, undeveloped career.
Yep that sounds about right, wont be much different in reality, just it would not be PSG in question.

I'm having incredible career at Sampdoria. Won the league against all odds in my first season on a very tight budget, bought some proper quality in my second year (Miranda, Darmian, Witsel and Dede) and it looks like I could win the league for the second year running (5 point cushion over Juventus with 7 games to go), qualified from the group of death in Champions League thanks to a 95th minute equalizer at Bernabeu (pipped Dortmund to 1st while Real Madrid finished 3rd) and already signed Krhin and Jonathas on a free for after season. I guess I will sell Miranda, h'es been having excellent season but will be 32 soon and I can still receive a good fee, I think I can find a replacement at a good price. If I win the league for the second time I will probably have a very sizeable budget anyway.

feckin hell, waiting for my copy of FM15 to be delivered! I'm like a kid on christmas morning

Sampdoria are amazing, they're so organized and flexible. Only 2-3 signings needed to really challenge for everything, I might even have a shot at Champions League trophy this season but I'd have to leave if I won that - there's no way I could repeat a season like this, I'd probably struggle to win the league next year and with two league titles I will have no shortage of teams willing to offer me a job I imagine. Maybe Juventus if they have vacancy at some point.

I will be able to rest players towards the end of CL campaign as I'm 8 points ahead of Juventus with just 6 games to go, I won't have any trouble retaining the title it seems and I've beaten Dortmund 1-0 in the first leg of CL quarterfinal - now off to Westfallen to defend the lead.

Okaka and Eder are amazing forwards.

I just won the treble with Villareal, pretty comfortable in the league, and I beat Real, Barca and Bayern on the way to CL glory. Somehow the club have got into £85m of debt, so I may have to sell some of my star players, although I've actually got a fairy bloated squad so I may just cash in on some overpriced deadwood eg. Sergi Samper rated at £18m despite making 7 appearances last season.

My striker just finished the season on 75 goals. Don't think I've ever had someone score so many in a season on any FM game I've played.

What league, what striker and what year?

He's a regen in the year 2027/2028. I play as Debrecen in the Hungarian league and the season before he scored 69 so I'm pretty surprised I've kept hold of him.

Evening folks, bought FM15 today and having serious issues installing it. Absolute feckin joke!!!

First I had to uninstall AVG, now disable McAfee... seriously?!

Did anyone else have these problems?

For FM specifically or for Steam? I had no problems installing FM this time around, but a couple of years ago I had an absolute nightmare trying to get it to work when I first installed Steam.

AVG kept fecking with my install after I recently restored my laptop.

I had a good save with Sampdoria. Won the CL four times in a row at one point. I struggled with Okaka though and ended up selling him after he scored an extra-time winner in the CL final

Had to have a look at Sampdoria, they have an excellent core there to build a team around.

Obiang, Duncan, Correa, Muriel, just a same Munoz and Romagnoli are on loan(Muriel too, but he has the future fee). Eder and Okaka look handy too.

Ohh, and Bonazzoli can become a world class striker, remember pinching him for a Roma save, and in the end selling him for 70m cash straight up to Man City.

Might just have to start a save with them.
