I'm loving my Villareal save at the moment. Got some decent youth players coming through, one great one in particular.

There are so many good Brazilian and other South American forwards who play as trequartistas. So easy to make massive profit off them - Henriquez £21m profit, Patrick - £19m profit, signed Malcolm cheaply and found an outrageous regen for only £6.5m

How many of your initial players have you kept? There is some real talent in the squad to begin with.

I sold Vietto to Zenit for £49m cash upfront and bought him back 1.5 years later for £20m upfront, £20m over 48 months. Best striker available.

Eric Bally has turned into a beast for me. My best cb at the moment.
Franco Acosta only became decent. Think I'll sell him next season.
Nathuel Leiva has become a great winger and is my first choice on the left.
Leaondro Suarez has gradually become my best playmaker. 9 goals 13 assists in 30 league games this season. Very impressive considering I've had all my strikers injured for long periods.

Jaume Costa is one of the best left backs in the game. Still at the club.
Moi Gomez has become really good, but his stamina is poor so he can only ever be a rotation player.
Had to sell Mario and Mussachio. Both world class. Playing for United and Chelsea.
Man Utd Trigeros turned into a decent midfielder, but he never broke through for me properly. Playing for Valencia.

@Hostekule Not many at all, I'm in 2019.

I sold Vietto to City for £37m, he didn't play all that many games in my last season as I tend to play with one up front and I had some incredible regen who took his spot.
Eric Baily is an okay defender playing at Spurs (although only made 6 appearances last season) - I want ones who are very comfortable on the ball so I sold him, and brought in Vallejo who's the same age roughly and much more composed.
Acosta is a nobody, barely getting games for Las Palmas. Sold for £400k and 50% of next transfer fee.
Leiva was a good player for me until he had a hip injury and massively regressed, he's now 1.5* and I rarely play him especially as I just bought Kishna and Cerny.
Gomez was okay, yeah I didn't like his 10 stamina so I sold him to Benfica fairly cheaply. He kept asking for undeserving game time and I got fed up of him eventually.

Costa is now a rotation player at 32, I have Alex Telles ahead of him. He wanted to leave but I asked him to stay and tutor and he did. Although I don't have anybody for him to tutor unfortunately.
I fought tooth and nail to keep both Musachio and Mario, both are at the club. Musacchio is strangely starting to regress at 28 years old, I want to keep him though as he's very good on the ball. Mario is a besat, and is tutoring my 5*PA RB regen.

Trigueros was sold to PSG almost immediately for £25m, couldn't say no at that price.

To answer your question; Mario, Burno, Musacchio, Jaume Costa and that's it.

And just as I type this, City bid for Rulli which I rejected, he then talked to me and I said he wasn't leaving, this pissed off Lucas Romero and Musacchio and they've both asked for transfers. Great.

Interesting, and haha. That's why I picked Villarreal though. PL clubs are too easy, and lower leagues is too boring. La liga is a lot of fun and breaking into the top 3 is very difficult. I'm hoping this will be the first summer I'm not forced to sell my best player(s).

I've bought Rulli too, he has taken over for Jefferson who amazingly turned into a world class footballer (he still has 1 first touch). He developed A LOT after I bought him at 32. He's a model professional even, but he had a 4 month injury so I had to get a replacement.

At the moment I'm one point behind Barca in the league with 35 matches played. I just played against them, and annoyingly only managed a 1-1. I'm starting to struggle from the fact that I've focused on developing a bit too many of the players already at the club... some of them just aren't good enough for a title winning side. Against the bigger sides I get found out by individual errors.

If I don't win this season it will be a second 2nd place in a row. I'm happy with that, but our CL campaigns have been shit. Have been knocked out in the last 16 three seasons in a row.

How have you managed economically? I've been forced to sell my best player(s) each season to even get a budget (not that I had any choice, they always wanna leave..). If i couldn't rely on my youth to step in whenever I sold someone I'd be nowhere near fighting for the title.

EDIT: Oh my! Barca drew 2-2 away to Granada. All I have to do is beat Real Madrid and I'm the leader with two games to go. Ah, the pressure!

I hate the fixture list in Italy after New Years.

For the last 12 games there have been no more than 3 days between games. Only one European match. Now I've got Genoa (H) - 2 day break - Lazio (A) - 2 days - Inter (H) - 2 days - Barcelona (A).

As soon as Barca knock me out I'll play the rest of my games with a week between apart from 2 fixtures. None of them are any good except Roma in my last game. But that doesn't matter because Juventus doesn't mess up and the gap is too big to catch up at this point.

edit: I destroyed my Italian games but in a typical fashion I level the Barca game in the 82nd minute but then conceded in the 86th and 91th minute and thus lose the tie 4-3.

And now my keeper misses a match because he's playing with the U21. In the same U21 match my RW gets injured and is out for 3 weeks.

The Italian FA is incompetent and it's not just FM. IRL we had fans of Pescara raid the FB page of our FA because he was playing the match against the Czechs instead of a playoff match (which they then lost). Why is there a playoff match the day before international teams are playing?

@Snow
Messi is incredible in fm 2015. It's the first fm where he actually gets the figures he does irl. At least for me. Also everytime I click on his profile I loose my breath looking at all those 20s. I'm playing a save as Villarreal and I've just conceded that when Messi plays I have to outscore Barca.

The AI is super shit at using him though. He barely scrapes above 20 goals and a handful of assists per season in my save game. Depay in my team has also won the last three Ballon D'or.

Same goes for Ronnie, for some reason the AI can never get any outstanding numbers out of him either.

Loved creating my tactics for FM13, even though it took forever. Didn't like 14 so stuck with 13. Now i'm really liking the 15.3 and i've seem to have gotten my tactics spot on (didn't take long at all to create). First season i finished 2nd with an average Inter (93 points, Juve 95..). 2nd in EL beaten by bloody Spurs.

This season after tweaking tactics further, we walked the league. 34 games in currently. 32 won, 2 drawn. Both matches drawn we dominated and opposition scored with their only shots on target. Next match is the 1st leg of the CL semi finals against an underperforming Man Utd, currently 6th in the PL (only game i lost this season so far was against Barca away, beat them at home, though. Beat Pool home and away). Liverpool look the likely winner of PL 15/16  (they've bought Laporte, Kjaer, Douglas Costa, Clichy and i sold them Vidic :nervous:).

Here's my team:

How much money have you spent? I see at least 14 transfers in there in your 2nd season. I thought Inter didn't have any money?

Inter had 40 mill after first season. Then, made a 30 mill profit from selling Ayew. Handanovic for 27, both to Arsenal. Another 25 mill from fringe players (Inter have like a 100 players from the start). Most deals i made had the majority of the money on 48 month instalments.

I'm 20,5 mill in the red but i'm counting on some nice CL money. Plus you always get extra money at the start of the new season. If that doesn't help i can always sell someone. Turned down a 65 mill deal for Kovacic start of 2nd season (City..).

That's quite the turnover. 40mill at the start is more than I've had for two seasons with Fiorentina. I guess the wage budget also matters a lot as I'm 6th in the league in salary spending.

How could you sell Ayew? I thought both of the brothers played in France. Did you buy him and then sell him?

Bought him for 5 mill (lol) start of 1st season, sold for 35. Have made some crazy bargains tbf: Muslera 9, Jorginho 12, Lacazette 12, Darmian 6, Corchia 7,5, Dybala 7,5, Balanta 8,5.

Edit: Think Inter have 30-35 mill at the start of 1st. Also, sold Hernanes for 20 mill to PSG, 20 mill combined for Nagatomo and Guarin.

I see scheduling is still off. Playing Utd at home in 2nd leg semi in CL now (won 1-0 at OT). 2 days later i have Juve away in the league. 2 days after that i play Juve in the cup final.

Finally won the league with Villareal in my fifth season, beating Barca by one point, who beat me by one point last season so revenge was sweet.

My board then decided to ignore the fact they'd been building a new stadium for two years which was 3 weeks away from completion in order to build a new stadium which will take 2 years and has the same projected capacity. They also decided building the new new stadium meant that the training facilities and youth facilities which they'd been improving for 6 months had to be scrapped too.

Exactly like I posted just a few posts above. Really annoying. In Italy it doesn't matter a whole lot because it's the same with every team (unless you get far in the cup and Europe) but it sucks when your up against a team like United or Barca.

Yea, that's definitely a bug. SI would probably like to know about it if they already haven't.

Yeah, I've reported it.

Has anybody had any luck with a tactic involving a libero? I've just found out that Jesus Vallejo is perfect for it - I've always used him as a ball-playing defender but he fits perfectly as a supporting libero.

Also, how do I find hotspots of players to see their average position?

Not sure what you mean by this.

Never thought about using a libero. Haven't seen a player that would fit. It's a far-fetched and a special system.

I mean a heatmap, not a hotspot. Map of the pitch which shows different intensities of colour for players' average positions on the pitch.

Positionally, what's the difference between a DLP (D/S) and a CM (D/S) in a flexible system?

Not sure about a heat map like you're asking for but by clicking Report with any player you'll get a drop down menu and there you pick analysis. You can do something similar from the Tactics screen.

What a weird league this can be. Just finished my 2nd season. Palermo got relegated with 24 points. They only won 4 games. Last season they finished 6th. How did they manage to "lose" 40 points?

I clinched the 3rd spot in my first season on GD with 73 points, 10 points behind Roma and 15 behind Juve. Now I finished with the same tally as Juve the year before but that only meant 2nd place as Juve reached 3 numbers in both points and goals scored. So a massive 12 points behind the league leaders and 18 points ahead of 3rd place Roma who took advantage of Inter. Inter collapsed under the pressure of European football but they reached the final. They were 3rd from 22nd round to the 33rd but only won 2 of their last 10 games. Same problem as @The Stain and myself mentioned before about the crammed fixture list. Real Sociedad, Liverpool and PSG in between league games which happened to consist of all the best league teams. Felt a bit sorry for them. They did win the Euro Cup so that means CL football for them? No idea if FM implemented that rule.

Very tough to keep your players as Fiorentina. They all want to leave as soon as a club with a bigger reputation or money is interested.

Read the description and use the ones you feel suited to your tactics. Personally, the CM position is to vague for me. They're expected to do to many jobs on the pitch. I like specialist positions within a fluid system.

I use 2 DLP's, one D and one S. The D one sits in front of the centre backs and won't join in attacks, when building play from deep he'll form a back 3 (in between the centre backs). This gives me a creative outlet from deep. The DLP/S plays next to a AP/A and will join in attack, kind of like a boxbox only more creative.

Good job! I actually considered Fiorentina but wanted a better team to start with (first save for me in FM15). I will move on to some spanish side after Inter before ending up in the PL. The crammed fixtures worked out in the end. Juve didn't rotate like me so i could afford playing a weaker side in the league game vs them (still beat them 3-1 away). I beat Man Utd 4-0 at home, Jackson bagging a hattrick (5-0 on aggregate). Now i'm looking forward to playing Juve for the 4th time this season, in the CL final, at San Siro! Can't believe i'm playing at home in the CL final  (When Inter plays it's called Giuseppe Meazza and when Milan plays it's San Siro so technically we're playing on Milans ground). Beat Juve 4-0 in the cup final so we're going for the treble in my second season.

These tactics are ridiculous. Wanted a mix of Barca's possession football and Dortmund's high pressing tactics and the result is fairly close. 2 league games left before the CL final, Milan at home which should be easy then a tougher game away to Fiorentina. 34 wins and 2 draws so far. If i manage to win both or draw one i think this will be the highest points total i've ever achieved playing CM/FM.

The Libero is fecked this year, doesn't work as a proper Libero at all, though it can be a fairly useful role, you'd be far better off leaving Vallejo as a ball playing defender, or converting him to DM.

Bought FM15. Just gonna finish off my season with Dortmund on FM14 though. Not sure who to be though. Any suggestions of teams in decent leagues that might be fun to manage? I was thinking of Sevilla, but they may be too good.

Edit: Never mind. Decided I'm going to take over Sheffield Wednesday.

So, in your opinion, there's no point even contemplating using a Libero? I've Kranevitter and Samper for my DM spot, and I'll happily keep Vallejo as a BPD but I just wanted to switch things up a little. If it's a completely fruitless task then I won't bother.

If you're expecting an actual dynamic Libero performance, give up now. If you're happy with a CB who'll pitch in with support from deep sometimes, go for it, as that's what you'll get, a CB who'll sit up slightly into the DM slot when your team are attacking.

Started a game with Villa, finished 8th in the first season. Managed to keep hold of Benteke so far without him wanting to leave, but Vlaar left quite easily.

It really irritates me when people won't leave. I've never played you. You're rotting in the reserves. Feck off Joe Cole.

In my 4th season with Sheffield Wednesday, just going into January. Bamford, Zaha and Nick Powell have become just ridiculously good. All 3 seem to be first pick for England as well. I was trying to build a totally homegrown squad, but I ended up picking up a whole lot of Scandinavian and South American regens who are all mental. I have a Paraguayan regen called JESUS who is just stupid good.

Level on points with United at the top of the league. We've both played 19, won 18 and lost 1. I lost to United. United lost to Chelsea, who are a point behind. United just won't drop points. They're managed by Mourinho and the whole team hates him and wants to leave. They've got so many strikers, Rooney and Van Persie aren't even registered.

Would you guys sign a defender with low bravery and teamwork?

Found an Argentine regen, would only cost £2m even though his CA is 179 and potentially 183, 21 years of age but his Bravery is 7!

Yeah I'd definitely sign him. Even if he's got a few attributes that may let you down occasionally, he looks good enough to be a match-winner most times. And if you can get him for £2m then his resale value will be huge.

Totally didn't realise he had left his club in Mexico for Lisbon recently for £2.9m  Missed out there but his release clause is only £13m. Might activate it in January.

feck this game is frustrating, it's been working fine for months now but I go to start it up today and I'm stuck at the loading screen, I swear I'll know how to say "loading" in many languages soon lol. Any ideas?

Un-install and re-install? Keep your saved games and all graphics in your documents folder though.

How far are you guys in?

I've just started the 33/34 season with United (my 10th season with them), Following successful spells with Newcastle, Dortmund and Atletico.
