DDG just told me halfway through the second season he wants to join Madrid.

Oh the realism :(

I got that as well, but managed to keep him until the 18/19 season, when he left for PSG. (Signed Jeronimo Rulli on a free transfer to replace him, and he's done well).

In other news, Jon Flanagan just scored his first ever goal for Middlesbrough against me, after 118 league appearances for them. It was a bloody bicycle kick.

Pretty much every goal scored against me is that player's first of the season.

If he really wants to leave I won't stand in his way :(

Been monitoring Scuffet, managed to unsettle him so might be able to get him on the cheap, seems to be the best young keeper on my scouts radar.

Every damn time.

He's good, not the very best though, probably worth checking Arrizabalaga, who the odd time grows well, or Perin, but Rulli is by far the best available keeper, unless you're very early in and a 30 year old Jefferson is acceptable.

I got Rulli on a free as backup to de Gea but soon moved him on as he wasn't happy not playing. De Gea is still my keeper in 2022.

I want it.. 9 days until I will re-install FM15! Just gotta get exams done

What squad updates are people using? Usually use LFC Marshall's but he hasn't updated it ages and want to start a save with United.

I finally managed the impossible dream in FM, made Overload work!

Down 1-2 away to Sampdoria in the Cup semi 2nd leg, went overload(and other tactic changes), to score an injury time equalizer that leads us to the final on away goals.

Lies. All Overload does is make less things happen, and the minutes go by much faster.

This also happened to me last night, an almost exact clone of Torino's own goal from last weekend!

I refute claims that I paid off Marchetti with a sack of Irish potatoes.

The last five minutes, and the 4 minutes injury time didn't even show up on the highlights, barring Zaza's 91st minute cracker. I had three strikers and an AMC on the pitch in the end.

Yeah it goes 71.....72...an attack....73.....74......an attack.....77...an attack....80.....82....OVERLOAD. GET THE F*CK FORWARD...84..87..89..90+3 FT

Could have won both, choked in May. Juve cnuts.

17m for next season, to build a team to compete domestically and in Europe, can land Fierro on a permanent for 6.75, but I might need all that budget to prevent Juve from taking Berardi with out co-ownership. City are interested, might have to sell him to them, just to prevent Juve from getting him.

Fuck.

Go to buy Wilson, United usually lets him go for cheap I find (or at least on loan)... Might not quite be ready to start for a team competing in europe and all that but he gets there pretty quickly I find. Or just spunk it all on Depay if you can get him. Whenever I use smaller and poor teams I tend to go down the same route on players, first season a lot of the cheap but future stars like Balanta and Tielemans, and then the next season buy Depay or someone like that if possible and slowly fill up the other positions. Having those 3 in defence, midfield and attack is usually enough. Though kind of like cheating on FM (and depay isn't so cheap like he was before).

Sacked for the first time ever on an FM game. I just don't get it with this edition.

Had the PSV job with the intention of staying a few years and getting a PL job. In my 2nd season I won the league and gave a good showing in the CL (with the tactical advice of @Earthquake ). Halfway through my 3rd season Arsenal approached me for the job as Klopp had taken them to about 16th.

I took the job and was pretty impressed with the quality of the side. I played the same tactic (see below) bit shipped goals like you wouldn't believe. I finished the league in 8th and got the sack.

Side was:

Sczezney(sp?)
Chambers Koscielny Balanta Robertson
Schneiderlin
Ramsey Wilshere
Ozil -------------- Sanchez
Giroud

Settings of the GK and back 4 are all default. From there it's:

Anchorman(D)
RoamingPlaymaker(S) BoxToBox(S)
InsideForward(S) -------- Ramdauter (A)
AdvancedForward(A)

How the feck is that side shipping so many goals?

All I know is that Luke Shaw is incredible and no goal has been scored from my left side in about ten years.

Hmm, your fullbacks will be set to automatic, which means they change with your mentality, would be better to switch them with proper instructions.

I hate Sczzzezccezezezzy in FM, IIRC he's highly eccentric, and has weak distribution(at least it was the case in 14), which can cause a lot of defensive errors.

Yeah I must have scored about 3 or 4 goals on this year's edition alone from his distribution mistakes. The highlight being him literally kicking the ball against Niklas Sule's head and the ball looping back over him into the net.

Yup!

Managed Arsenal for a while after a stint at Swansea in 14. Weeks later he was turfed out and a proper goalie brought in, Mayxim Koval, IIRC.

Hmm. From what I've experienced, it's pretty much down to the quality of your defence. No particular tactic will truly sort out the defence, unless the serious quality is there. Maybe I'm wrong and it can be tweaked, but the times when I've had incredible defensive records have been when my defence has been best in the league.

You may just need to spend, to be honest. When your defenders are good enough, you usually wont even need a holder.

Did a save starting with Barnet. got them up to the Championship (two promotions in three seasons). Jumped ship as I felt they'd struggle.
Went to a 20th-placed Millwall in November who were in League one (it's slightly annoying how promotion doesn't move your reputation up half as much winning the title) and despite steering them into the play-offs, I was under pressure all season. Quite what they expected me to do with a team that were almost bottom of the league in November, I don't know.

Got them promoted in the second season.
I don't know why, but I never feel like managing teams that I get promoted into the Premier League. I can move a team from Conference to the Premier League, but then I'll always lose interest.

Slightly bored of it again. Will probably be craving a save in a month or two though.

My United side in credible. In 2020, in my 6th season with them. I have won the league last 5 seasons. I dont know how. I keep bringing in younger players and reducing the average age of the squad and I still keep winning. In fact Im getting better every season. Last season I had 1 loss in 38. Also made 3 UCL's finals in a row. Lost the first two and won the third final. Beat Liverpool in the final on penalties even though I was down to 10 men in the 38th minute. Mata is incredible in my save. That right wing is his. He scores like 20-25 and assists a further 15-20 goals a season. He won the World Player of the Year last year.
