I love how flexible the formations can be, though it's a shame there's no way to control separate ones for attacking/defending.
Pretty happy with how mine works at the moment, just by combining attacking wing backs with inside forwards:

February 11th in the first season with Leicester...no signings in, just Wes Morgan sold for 1.5 million.
Through to the 5th round of the FA cup after beating Man Utd 1-0 at Old Trafford. Away to Chelsea next.
Sitting 3rd in the league, looking like:

Curtain raiser to the season was against a familiar opposition in Barcelona, a 1-3 loss at the Nou camp made things look pessimistic before hammering them 5-1 at home to lift the Super Cup for the 3rd time in a row.
The Spanish cup was a good run out for the fringe players until later rounds. A 9-0 thrashing of minnows Cultural Leonesa was followed by strong performances against Villareal, Barcelona & Sevilla. Madrid were the opponents for the final and an early goal was enough for me to lift the Cup for the 2nd year running in a very scrappy nervy game.
Europe again was a major disappointment and something I can't seem to crack at the moment. The group consisted of Zenit, Wolfsburg and the minnows called CS U Craiova, progress to the KO rounds was smooth enough. This led me to Liverpool, a team for the taking. They played a very open 3-4-3 against me in the 1st leg and Balotelli was like the unplayable tank, led to me losing 1-7 which was ridiculous considering the strength of my team. Return leg was revenge of sorts with me winning 6-1 but an early red card meant I didn't have enough to grab the 7th and was again duly knocked out early.
League
Unlike Europe I have league football almost perfected. Dominated from start to finish, although it was never ultra comfortable as Real Madrid kept on the tails until the last few games. They were 3 points behind with me to play them in the coming weeks, a loss and they'd of overtaken due to the head to head records. The week before the game they lost to Granada but I couldn't take full advantage only managing a draw against Celta the day after. I needn't of worried though as I hammered them 6-0 at home to take the league for the 3rd year running.
Memphis Depay
This lad has been the stand out performer amongst my team. Signed from the 1st season he has gone from strength to strength. Below is a comparison over the 3 years between him, Messi & Ronaldo.

I misunderstood you. I thought he meant there's too much competition for a starting spot. Just let him sit in the reserves. I'd think that would make him unhappy and want first team football.

This is the Serge Aurier that I brought in the superior Mattia De Sciglio to replace. Ignoring the fact that Rafael and Jones are perfectly fine at RB in the squad already.

The regens positions in FM never make any sense. I have a regen in my youth team who can play left wing and DM but nowhere else.
Thought my game had glitched, was in the capital one cup, game went to penalties and I lost 19-18, not one had been missed until my 19th Thought it would just keep going forever.
Anyways, I started a new save and only signed the players who I think we will this summer (Depay, Hummels, Gundogan and Clyne). Depay has been brilliant though, 8 goals and 3 assists in 9 apps. Find he does really good up front, when I need to use him because of injuries.

Who is a good striker to get for a club at Swansea's level? I really don't like Bafetimbi Gomis, and I can sell him for ~£8m leaving ~£16m for a new striker. Dunno who to get though..
I sold Di Maria to Juve as soon as he turned 30.
Assombalonga was great for me in my Feyenoord save and Inter Milan ended up buying him from me for £20m.

What @Earthquake said. Carlos Fierro is one who is usually available for pretty cheap, develops quickly, and ends up an absolute beast.

Kaid Mohamed is just beastly in the Conference North. 11 goals in 14 starts from either the left wing or up front.
