Dybala is so good as a false 9. Very well rounded player, definitely recommend him in that role. :)
In 14, my favourite thing to do, especially for a team that needed cheap rebuilding was to raid Palermo for all of Dybala, Ezequiel Munoz and Fabio Daprela. Andrea Belotti can be a very handy second choice striker too.

Had them at a just promoted potless Bolton side, playing a formation I built as a clone of LvG's 532 that he played in America, and they instantly marched up to the European spots, even with likes of Liam Trotter and Jay Spearing.....

I'm playing 4-3-3 with a false 9 and a 3 central midfielders with one of them just in front of the back 4. It's so effective in this FM.

Just reached 2023 with Mallorca, won the EL and Spanish Cup, whilst coming 3rd. Been given a £4m transfer budget, what am I supposed to do with that? I can just about buy squad level players and free agents with that. They also cancelled the upgrade on my training and youth facilities  Can't find any decent priced Spanish regens neither, they all seem to be Brazilian or Argentinian. Any tips on how to get my scouts to find wonderkids, that don't cost an astronomical amount? Looked at an CAM from Cardiff who was unhappy, his price is £7.5m, Cardiff want £47m for him

7 goals and an assist

Took over großaspach in the 3rd Tier of German football. Expected to finish last and disappear.

Currently 2nd place, 2 points behind the league leaders with 13 games played. Should be a great challenge. My target is to get to the Bundesliga in 3 seasons.

EDIT: That's the short term target. Long term, will make this club the best in the world unless I get bored and stop playing altogether.

So just finished the first season with United. Came a distant 2nd in the league to a mighty Chelsea, but did twat them 3-1 in the FA Cup final and won the league cup too. First XI consisted of: DDG - Rafael Jones Rojo Shaw - Blind di Maria - Januzaj Mata Depay - Rooney

Surprise of the season was James Wilson. Was superb, 2nd highest scorer behind Rooney. Rewarded him with a new contract to keep Chelsea and Arsenal away.

First dilemma is which CB to bring in. My scouts rate Otamendi as pretty much the best CB in the game. Can get him for £35m, and would be a more natural fit for the right hand side. Or Laporte, potential to be just as good and would come in to be my best CB already for £31m. Would be a better long term option but prefers the left side, and I already have Balanta and Rojo there.

Or am I being too LVG about this, and it really doesn't matter?

Wilson has done well for me in the first season as well. Seems to be pretty decent from the off.

I was going to get Depay in the 2nd season but City got there first. Bastards.

I had to settle for Bale instead. Then again my assistant only rates him 3 stars.

You f*cked up.

Wilson can become a smashing forward, when I played as United he was regular rotation from the off.

Always keep an eye on his loan availability when I'm at other clubs too.

Laporte is insanely good. Ditto Gimenez though he takes a season to blossom.

Bale was shocking for me. Depay is an absolute beast. 40-50 goals a season regularly.

Vallejo from Zaragoza - good young centre back. Got him for £1.1 million in the first window. 17 when the games starts.
Decided to do a Tottenham save to get back into this game.

He's currently 25, with 25 caps for Spain, a worth of £28 million, and all the big clubs sniffing. I literally played him non-stop from the day I signed him. Doubt he'd be a Spain international if not for that.

Not the best centre back in the world. But a cracking signing for £1.1 million and a bit of patience.

I found him best as a BPB between two CB's in a 3 man defence (with WB's)

His mental attributes are crazily good, on my Fiorentina save I've pretty sure he's got like 18 in concentration, determination, decisions and composure.

Started an unemployed save and got offered the Villarreal manager job at the end of november. Villarreal were in a relegation battle with some pretty questionable transfer decisions made earlier on in the summer window. With transfer budgets being negligible and wage already over the allotted amount, my buying options were very limited. In the winter 15 transfer window I bought in a few frees and added transfer listed Monreal to my squad. Ended up finishing 7 at the end of the season after an impressive run of games.

In the summer '15 transfer window I added 4 free signings Eduardo Vargas, Micah Richards, Danny Ings, and Tom Cleverly and it's now January 2016 and I am top of the league with no loss and 2 draws. Also managed to bag Paco Alacer and Sofiane Feghouli on a free from Valencia. Going good so far!

I would highly recommend Villarreal save for moderate difficulty challenge. As there are a couple of promising youngsters in Vietto and Leiva already at the club and the wages and budgets are not strong enough to get your typical Balanta, Tielemans etc type of signings in. Nice little challenge.

A second CL for Athletic, in 2017, my transfer extravagance, added to a stadium expansion that left us with low attendances, has given us a nice whack of debt to deal with, though we're not in the red. May have to sell one or two and cut back a touch, but we should be fine.

How do I stop defensive mistakes? I'm playing with Swansea so I've got good centre halves in Fernandez and Williams, but they've cost me like 6 goals this seasons from short backpasses/headers.

Just starting my 4th season at Dortmund now...

How is Jackson Martinez doing for you?

He often moves to either Chelsea or Man City in my saves, and always has a crazy good goal record - talking ~35 goals in the league alone. I've never signed him myself though. Is he worth it?

Started a new save with Swansea, finished 9th in my first year which is decent considering I didn't have a goalkeeper between November and January!

According to my coaching team, I should sell both Valencia and Rafael, since they're not good enough for the first team. Apart from them, I have no other RBs. Great advice there. :wenger:

I also have a slight selection issue... halfway through the season, the stats for my first choice attacking players (competing for the 3 forward places in a 433) look like this:

Player: Goals, Assists, Starts(Subs)
ADM: 20, 14, 20(2)
RVP: 17, 11, 14
Nani: 15, 3, 9(5)
HBA: 13, 10, 16(2)
Wilson: 9, 7, 9(1)
Mata: 7, 11, 15(6)

...and I just signed Messi.

Got more time on my hands now, but I'm really not sure who to pick this time.

I don't know if I can be bothered for a long-term-lower-league save. And I've never been into elite clubs.
The idea of some less established footballing country is always appealing, but it's extremely boring when you barely know any of the players in the league.

Suggestions?

How the hell do you guys sell players?

Nobody wants Fellaini or Evans no matter how low I go. They say they will find new clubs, then do feck all about it.

I think my B Team have won promotion to the Adelante, but I'm not sure, as the Spanish lower league playoff system is weird.

If they have it'd be fantastic for my youths to develop further without needing first team football.

Get Balanta.

Wtf is wrong with the supporters? I just beat Wrexham 5-0 in the FA Cup, playing a team that was half U18s and half reserves. Match confidence: "the fans are disappointed with the result against Wrexham, and felt fielding a weakened team fully contributed to the let-down of a performance." 5-0 wins are a let-down now? :wenger:

I got him on a bosman, in my 4th season now and this is my first with him in my squad, i've only played 6 games so far and hes yet to score so Aubameyang is starting over him now. Aubameyang scored 51 goals for me last season so i dunno why i dropped him but couldnt not take a chance on Martinez on a free. Im hoping he'll come good.

The editor has made the game boring. What's the point of signing anyone when I can just move them to my club using the editor?

I can also just edit stats and make beastly youth players.

Currently, I have started a new save with Newcastle. Signed Lucas Romero, Sergi Roberto, and Richairo Zivkovic (I had too use the editor for him, he will not sign first season!). I've also signed some average but pacy wingers. In my first game I smashed Hull City 5-0. Although it helped that I maximized my teams tactical familiarity and morale using the editor. It's very hard to not use the editor, its so tempting, its just sitting there waiting to be used.

Any tips on how not to use the editor?
