Gaming FM 24 Experiment: Redcafe FC

Jan-Transfers.png

We move.

Very unusual to see Tom Jones go for so little.

Apparently Arsenal and Arteta are the best people to exist in this save. Only 31 games played and they've already won the title. 86 points.

It's Europa League for the Redcafe FC boys! A good season overall but perhaps one that could have ended more comfortably and even with CL qualification via the 5th place route. In the last 7 games they finished with 1W 1D and 5L...4 points from 21. Massive opportunity missed perhaps. Arsenal feel like a bit of an impossible task to topple as they finished with 104 points to win the league, but I think with some good signings Redcafe FC could sneak into the CL next season, but they may want to focus on a cup run so they can continue picking up silverware and creating a culture for winning things at the club. For the first time in the save there is no place for a Redcafe FC player in the League TOTS. A shame as some players like Ken and Hobbers were close to making it. Solinho could feel hard done by too. They reached the EFL Cup QF losing to Wolves and the FA Cup 5th round before losing to City.

They did lead in a number of stats for the league. Headers won, Headers won ratio, Red Cards, Cross Completion (%) were all metrics that Redcafe topped.

Stats of a worry may be conceded and clean sheets. They conceded 52 goals and only managed 7 clean sheets. They were actually 6th highest in terms of xGA which is on par with the teams which were relegated.

A good season for Elstob and one which has increased his profile in the game. According to the game, he's considering his options. Could we see the big man moving on in future to a new club? He now has a 4 star reputation and has been rewarded with a 50k per week contract for his fine work at the club. He needs that money to keep up his Beckham-esque looks. He's now signed 50 players in total for Redcafe FC and he's known for playing mind games with opponents and the media. Still no Cups on the record sheet for Elstob which is a slight disappointment but it's hard to argue with his league form thus far.

@The Cat

Cat.png

Back to business for Catman Jones. After the heartbreak of last season he's made sure that this season he's shown everyone exactly why he won all of those awards in the early stages of his career. 8 goals and 9 assists in his first 37 (1) appearances in the PL and 7 MOTM performances. He had an excellent January and was named in the PL TOTW on two occasions. He's finally broke into the Welsh squad and has two goals in six caps for the national side. He's also noted as their Key Player. He's nearing a big milestone for the Caftards as he's now played 232 games. The 250 game mark should be made this season. He thinks Seb Sheep is a vital part of the team.

@Solius

Sol.png

An impressive first season for the Brazilian midfielder who is now described as a world class midfielder. The Palace move may have caused friction with the fans and owner but it was well worth the two seasons of development to come back to Redcafe FC and seamlessly slot into the side. 12 goals and 7 assists for the midfielder in 43 appearances overall so narrowly misses out on 20. He was runner-up in the Copa America YPOTT award was named in the PL TOTW on 6 occasions. He's also now been named in the Brazil Overall Best Eleven due to his performances for the National Side!

The media think he needs to find a new club. He thinks Seb Sheep is a vital player for Redcafe FC.

@Heine

Heine.png

Heine Ken has smashed it once again. Though his Netherlands side fell in the QF to Norway, his individual performances meant that he was named as the POTT and YPOTT! He also finished 3rd in the Golden Boot for the Euros. His performances in the PL this season have been enough to earn him the YPOTY award. He was likely in the shortlist for POTY too but it's nigh on impossible at the moment to win it over Saka who is close to an 8.00 rating in the league (and is winning the WPOTY award along with Bellingham most seasons). 10 goals and 4 assists though in the league with 8 POTM awards. He also has 8 goals in 13 appearances for the National side.

The media think he needs to find a new club. He thinks Seb Sheep is a vital player for Redcafe FC.

@sebsheep

SebSheep.png

I think Seb has been dreaming of Milan a tad this season which is strange to say given he's still managed 8 goals and 9 assists in 33 PL appearances, but for a European Golden Boy he'd want to push himself further and be classed as one of the best midfielders in the league but he missed out on the TOTY. He's still being overlooked by Mourinho for the England squad too, despite bizarrely being inducted into England's overall Best Eleven. Weird game stuff that. Perhaps European Football next season will bring the best out of him and he'll get back to where he should be?

He thinks Hugo Larsson is a vital part of the team. The media think he needs to find a new club.

@hobbers

Hobbers.png

He didn't reach 20 goals in the league but I think Hobbers has had a great season. He managed 17 goals overall which was 4th highest in the league behind Haaland, Hojlund and Saka who are at CL level clubs. He's the first player to hit 100 goals for the Caf too and sits on 109 in total in 232 appearances. Narrowly beneath a 1 in 2 record for the club. He was named in the PL TOTW on 5 occasions. He's begun WCQ on fire for Scotland though with a hat trick against Gibraltar and 2 goals in the other game so he's top scorer on that front with 5.

The media thinks he's a star player for his country. He thinks Seb Sheep is a vital player for Redcafe FC.

@harms

Harry.png

Harry has struggled the most with the step up. He hasn't managed to continue his goalscoring form in the Prem with only one goal and two assists this season in 27 (1) appearances. His yellow card record probably took its toll as he became the first player in PL history to achieve 15 yellow cards. Go on lad. He's still a tidy player though and his other numbers are quite impressive. Keeps everything ticking for the other players to perform. I do hope that he gets an England call up one day as it would be a travesty if he couldn't continue his form for cards in an International Tournament!

He thinks Seb Sheep is a vital player for Redcafe FC.

Sorry lads but it's tricky to say much about you both. You've hardly played. Both really need a move this summer as I'm unsure if City or Milan are ever going to make you priority subs let alone starters! SR Wilder for example plays more for Bulgaria than he does for his club. :lol:

Seems pretty obvious we need to go big on a top defender and goalkeeper @altodevil
Can only do one at a time. Manager decides position this year since last couple I've forced his hand. He'll probably plump for a defender.

Happy with that first season back. Hopefully top 4 next season.

I hope the manager and owner is up to do what is needed to get us into the CL, a player on Heine Kens level need to play CL...

Club-Overview.png

New-Signing.png

Transfers.png

A low key summer on the chairman front. Boosting the coffers at the club slightly and not spending much on their marquee signing. The need for a defender was recognised but they've decided to combine that with youth and gone for ex-City product and U21 player Gorka Lefebvre. He has already been capped by Spain 3 times and can play across the whole backline. The club are predicted to once again mount an outside challenge to the European spots with a media prediction of 7th but a few of the players will have ambitions of CL football and things may get tetchy if they don't.

Transfer activity this Summer has been quite interesting. Though previously they had a policy of youth, Elstob seems to have noticed a gap in the squad and maturity has been the policy this summer. Though not shown, they've signed Harry Souttar (30), Justin Kluivert (30), Carter-Vickers (31) and Cunha (30). They've also brought back Braybrooke who played with the club in League One.

SR Wilder has stuck with City and Carlos has stuck with Milan.

Squad.png

Redcafe are now a very comfortable operator at PL level. 4th in the table and look good for finishing in the top 7 as the media predicted. With the right January signings and if their main men keep performing then that top 4 place isn't out of the question though. Tactically they seem a lot more comfortable and have moved up the possession ranks for the league this season with an average of 56%, up from 51% last season. Defence is still a bit of an issue as they've conceded more than the sides around them. Individually they are in place to be the best of the important metrics. Hobbers is up there challenging for top goalscorer, Tackles is way ahead in the yellow card race, Seb Sheep on the assist front and Heine Ken on the POTM/Avg Rating front.

They've broken the EFL Cup curse too. They beat Arsenal in the QF to set up a tasty Semi with Leeds. They're also smashing it in Europe. 6 wins out of 6 in the Europa League means they've already qualified for the last 16 with 2 games left in the Group Phase.

I think they have a great chance to win a trophy this season, even if it isn't the PL.

Everyone aside from Tackles has been playing in the WCQ campaigns. Sadly Wales and Scotland didn't qualify but Hobbers finished top of the goalscoring charts with 10. Netherlands and England are in. Brazil also qualify.

SR Wilder has been getting a wee bit more game time for City but still not what he envisaged when he joined. Slot is now their manager.

Carlos has been put on the loan list by Milan as they no longer have needs for his services. Valencia and Feyenoord are interested.

You won the last two EL group games to finish top of the stage with 8 wins out of 8.

Wilder stayed at City, Carlos stayed at Milan. :lol:

First European final, great!

I noticed Filip Jørgensen, I seem to remember he is a great goalkeeper in FM, but I might be wrong

Is Tackles injured/disqualified? Or doesn’t he make the team for SF and finals anymore?

For the EFL Cup Semi and Final he was injured. Hip Injury so out for 2 months. For the EL Semi-Finals you were sent off in the QF 2nd Leg.

Club-Stats.png

I'm not saying you should go out and sign a top defender but I think you should go out and sign a top defender. :lol: Redcafe FC are Champions League! A terrific season considering they managed to add both the EFL and EL trophies along the way. Their attack is on par with Arsenal as the best in the league but their defence is quite shocking for a club of their level. They conceded 59 goals (7 worse than last season) in total which was 13th in the league. The top 3 had the best 3 defences in the league. Redcafe did manage to score the 2nd most goals in the league and had the 2nd most shots and 3rd best avg possession in the league. They topped the metrics for headers won, headers won ratio, and chances created. They also had a player in all the top 3 player stat metrics aside from clean sheets with Hobbers getting the golden boot and Tackles topping the yellow card list once again!

They bizarrely lost in the 3rd Round of the FA Cup to Forest. A shock due to their other cup runs but I think it's because the squad was heavily rotated and in a very hectic January schedule.

In the EFL Cup they had wins against QPR, Crewe, Arsenal and Leeds before triumphing against City in the final (quite comfortably may I add).

In the EL they beat PSV, Lazio and Fiorentina in the knockout stages before beating Chelsea in the final.

@Stobzilla

Elstob.png

Elstob is now an icon at Redcafe FC. The main man now has two major trophies to his name. After the cups eluded him for so long, he wins two in one season! His work in the Premier League was impressive enough for him to be named as the PL MOTY too, so he's now earnt his reputation as one of the top managers in the game. He reverted slightly from his preference to use so many young players this season and went with experience in terms of his transfers and squad choice on more than one occasion and it was probably the difference in some key moments.

He is fairly happy with how things are going but feels a move to a bigger stage would be in his best interests...

A top season for the Welshman. He's back winning awards. He had a fantastic EL campaign and almost achieved an 8 rating in the competition. He had to settle for 7.95 and 10 goal contributions but that meant he was named both YPOTT and POTT... He added 14 in the league and 3 in the Carabao Cup to finish with 27 in all competitions. He was named the Welsh Footballer of the Year for the first time and looks set to be their new talisman. They're not involved in the upcoming World Cup but with Catman at the helm they look like they could get close to Qualification with a bit of luck in future.

He now has a 5 star reputation and thinks Seb Sheep is a vital part of the team.

@sebsheep

seb.png

Seb and Sol are having a friendly competition between each other ala Trent/Robertson as to who can contribute more from CM each season. On this occasion Sheep just edges Sol with 16 goals and 18 assists in all competitions. He finished second in the assist charts for the PL with 13 and he was named in the EL TOTT. He needs a rest because he's been used in basically every match this season he was available for but he'll need to make it quick because he's back in the England squad and they have a World Cup to win!

He has a 4.5 reputation rating and thinks Michael Olise is a vital part of the team.

@Solius

Sol.png

As said, he narrowly lost the competition to Seb but he still racked up 16 goals and 15 assists in all competitions. He also had more goals in the PL than Seb with 13 which is Lampard-esque numbers from CM. Along with his other teammates he was named in the EL TOTT. He's back in the Brazil squad for the upcoming World Cup and will be hoping to make a better impression on the International scene as the Brazil squad have been underwhelming so far on that stage given their stacked squad.

He has a 4 star reputation and thinks Seb Sheep is a vital player for the team.

@Heine

Heine.png

Football is an easy game for this lad. He got close to an 8 rating in every competition he played in and in the Carabao Cup managed a stonking 8.48 rating overall with 9 goals and assists in 6 games. :lol: He picked up a few minor injuries this season so he didn't play as much football as he usually does and I think it may have cost him the POTY award in the league. He was narrowly behind the winner Saka in the avg rating and POTM charts. He's almost on 100 goals for the club and was the difference maker in the EFL Cup final against City. He's back in action this summer for the Netherlands in the WC and they have a great chance to win it. They were the Nations League Winners and he was named the YPOTT. He's getting very close to World recognition too as he was named the 3rd place in the Best FIFA Men's POTY award in 2029.

He has a 5 star reputation and thinks Seb Sheep is a vital part of the team.

@hobbers

Hob.png

Go on Hobberinho! The Brazilian named Scot is your Golden Shoe winner for the PL 2029/30 Season! He finally hits that 20 figure mark in the league and it's enough to give him that award. Two goals in the final game secured it for him. He was the only Redcafe player named in the PL TOTY. He continued his form by getting the only goal in the EL Final vs Chelsea to secure the 2nd trophy of the season for the club and their first European trophy! His Scotland side aren't in the upcoming WC so he has plenty of time to rest and go again next season.

He has a 3.5 reputation and thinks Seb Sheep is a vital part of the team.

@harms

Harry.png

I think Harry has had a good season overall. He's been hampered with two big injuries which meant he was out for c. 3 months total and meant he missed out on the latter stages of the EFL Cup and his red card in the EL meant he missed out on the EL latter stages! He also racked up 12 yellow cards and a red in the PL so missed more games there too. With Harry you know he will miss games due to cards so suffering injury means you're at risk of getting under 30 games from him in the league. No need to worry from a caf perspective though as they have good squad depth in that area. Individually he narrowly missed getting double digit contributions in all competitions but if he avoids injury I think he will easily make it next year.

He has a 2 star reputation and thinks Seb Sheep is a vital part of the team.

Difficult to say much again lads as you've once again hardly played. What I can do for you though is force a transfer through if you'd like? @Enigma_87 If yes, I will move you to Real Sociedad as they're interested in you and @TheReligion If yes, I will move you to Valencia as they were interested in you before. There is still a chance that you both have a late bloom if you move now but you're at risk now of never developing and dying off.
