Updated finances prior to transfers/season start (including money for Seb leaving). Catman now locked at Redcafe FC too.
Carlos (@TheReligion ) has put in a transfer request and is wanted by a few PL clubs but stays at Valencia this window. SR Wilder stays at Sociedad but is wanted by Chelsea.
We move. I'll provide a mini update for Seb as Cork finish their season in October.
Who needs Seb Sheep? Normal service resumes. EFL Cup curse strikes again though as knocked out in the QF to Leeds. Joint top of the CL group table. PL title nailed on again surely?
@sebsheep and Cork are predicted to finish 4th. @TheReligion Carlos is top scorer in La Liga midway through the season. Both he and Wilder are wanted by PL clubs but both stay.
It's not the average rating that Seb hoped for but he's came into the Irish Premier Division and dominated it as expected. He tops the avg rating, top scorer, top assister and most MOTM metrics with 12 goals and 7 assists in 18 appearances in the league. After narrowly avoiding relegation or a relegation playoff game last season, his Cork City side are now top of the league. Whether they can maintain that is another thing though as both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are interested in his services. They won't have to pay over the odds either as his value is only 5.2-16m. If he does go to La Liga then he'd have a chance of winning three major leagues as a player!
He wanted to leave in the summer but Carlos is now loving life in Valencia. He made his Brazilian debut in the summer during their Copa America win and this season he reached new heights individually with the top goalscorer award in La Liga. Well done! 23 goals was enough to beat Omorodion in 2nd who scored 21 goals. The potential he showed at Milan is now being realised. Valencia had a decent season again. Finished 4th and qualified for CL football. Reached the QF in the CL losing to Inter. Beaten by Barcelona in the Copa Semi Final. Will be interesting to see where his career takes him from here.
If it weren't for Bellingham then SR Wilder would be the best player in La Liga. He's been named La Liga POTY Runner-up for the 2nd season in a row after firing in 15 goals and 6 assists in 31 games for Sociedad. He's their captain and without him they'd probably be mid-table. As it is, he's managed to drag them into the European places again as they finish 6th and qualify for the EL. They were knocked out of the CL in the second round to Bayern. First round loss in the Copa! They're not a very good team. He's on 61 caps for Bulgaria now so is likely to hit 100 caps at some point in the save.
Will he stay at Sociedad? Chelsea and Newcastle are interested...

Hard to create any suspense for this. The league was easy for Redcafe FC and they won it by 13 points. They also broke the 90 point barrier for the first time! On other fronts though it was really disappointing. Lost in the CL QF, the FA Cup 5th Round and the EFL QF. They'd at least be expecting now to pick up two trophies a season rather than just the league so a slight underperformance as a collective and if we're honest, individually I don't think everyone has been hitting their best form either! No player in the top 3 for assists or goals this season in the league. Siddall did have the 2nd most clean sheets though and Tackles topped the yellow card rankings.
The Gaffer. Wins a third title in a row and a fourth MOTY award in a row. He got his side to 1000 goals this season and has improved his win percentage record to 62%. 16 trophies in his career so far and 28 awards. What's the target for the end? 30+ trophies and 50+ awards? I think that's achieveable. He had some rocky moments with Redcafe FC in their early years in the Prem and thought he might have to move on to achieve the best in himself but now he's satisfied with his life. This year is his 10th with the club and he's packed in a lot during that time! What will the next 10 bring for Elstob?
I will probably be saying this a lot for each player but it was a meh season for Hobbers. He picked up a few injuries so only played 27 games in a league and scored 16 goals which was only enough for 4th place in the Golden Boot race. He won the 2023 WPOTY but he'll not even be on the list this year. He wants to win the Club World Cup though. Who said players and clubs don't care about that eh? He's being rotated a tad with a Saudi regen that Elstob has bought who isn't as good but is probably the best back-up striker in the world... I think if Hobbers doesn't get injured he's now at a level where he should be bagging 20 goals in the league each year so we will see how that goes next season. He's over 50 caps for Scotland now with 35 goals which is the record for Scotland overtaking legends like Law and Dalglish! He thinks Solinho is a vital part of the team.
Catman and Heine have done their classic let's swap who is the best player this season trick! Heine takes it this season with the POTY and Footballer of the Year award in the PL for 32/33. 14 goals and 8 assists with 8 MOTM awards and a chart topping 7.92 rating in the league. 33 goal contributions in all competitions this season but his contributions weren't quite enough to see his team through in the FA Cup or Champions League. Maybe the rotation of Elstob let them down in those competitions! He's also over 50 caps with his country and has 25 goals for the NT. Depay is the record goalscorer with 55. I think Heine could reach that goal if he plays into his 30s. He also has over 200 goal contributions in the league for Redcafe FC now. Like Hobbers he wants to win the Club World Cup!
So close to 30 goal contributions for Sol this season. He's smashing the WCQ with Brazil and is one of the best performers in that competition. 13 goals and 10 assists in the league for Redcafe also puts him in the bracket as the outstanding CM of the league and his generation with Seb Sheep. It doesn't feel like he is missing his partner though! A bit of a meh CL campaign for him and he'll be wanting to rectify that next season. He thinks Hobbers is a vital part of the team. A new bromance blossoms. Unlike the others he hasn't reached his 50th International Cap yet but I think he will gain that in the next year or so. Also, he doesn't care about the Club World Cup. Sol cares about the big trophies ONLY.
Harry is still sad. He's the only one that hasn't been given a bumper new contract by the club and he's still asking for a deal to reflect that. The club isn't budging yet. Could he be the first player to naturally leave the club? As always he's been Mr Consistent. Most yellow cards in the league, a solid 7ish rating in all competitions and he's chipped in with a few goals and assists when it's been needed too. He's on 25 caps now for England. A late bloomer on the International front but that's a solid achievement for the Leeds born midfielder! One to keep an eye on this summer as he may be on a transfer list if he doesn't get a new deal.
Catman wasn't quite able to back up his stellar treble winning season with the club. Back to reality for the Welshman. He's not played badly, as can be seen by his rating in the PL and CL but for a winger of his standards, he'd be disappointed not to have reached 30 goal contributions in all competitions. Interestingly he didn't feature much in either domestic cups. Too good for the lad now. Bizarrely, he's noted as a key player for Wales but he barely ever gets a cap...? I think it's because he plays in the same position as Brennan Johnson but still. Catman is by far the superior player. Hopefully he gets a bit more game time soon as he should have been the next Bale for them. He's a fan of Sol and wants to win the Club World Cup!
