It definitely will be tough watching us cause right now I don’t own him. I got Martinelli, Saka, Rashford, Son and Mitoma.
That's my mid as well. If I get him in, would have to be at the expense of Rashy or Son. Think he's worth the value with his guaranteed minutes, penalties and the new added time rule will be crucial.

What makes you think Son is a good option at his price point out of interest? Brentford away then us at home isn't an easy first 2.
Although I must admit I thought United have 3 good opening fixtures, forgetting we had Tott away.

Arsenal do have a great first 3 though.

I would bet 2p that you don't start with Son.

You two have different budget than we poor bastards? That is some expensive midfielder there.

This year my main ML rival isn't playing because I beat him after he had a 70 point lead on me last year  but because of this, I'm happy to go against template.

Son was playing last season with some sort of hernia issue that has since been resolved and will be much better this year. Question is, am I being overly optimistic?

I haven't looked into it too much this year but my team is very similar to many others I reckon.

For those of you (like me) who were worried about BeforeKeaneThereWasRobson, I think he's ok. He reached out to me earlier, didn't really say much but at least I know he's not missing or whatever. I'm sure he'll pop in here if he wants to play but yeah, hope that helps.

Spurs have an attacking coach. Son was injured most of last season. He is still a terrific player. Brentford don’t look too good in preseason. So they could concede. I don’t care if Spurs lose 5-2 as long as Son has a return. And the game against us is at home.

Definitely good news, mate and I sincerely appreciate the update!!!

That’s good to hear! Hoping he is doing ok.

Aye, anyone going with Son will be bolder than my "zero at the back" formation.

He scored 10 PL goals last season... which was 1 fewer goal than:
Rodrigo
Harvey Barnes
Foden
Almiron

and level with:
Eze
Mac Allister
Izak
Awoniyi

Risky, but it's fun I guess.

Absolutely, he was a staple in here and we've missed him!

We have yeah, I was fearing the worst when he just went quiet. We had been chatting teams in PMs quite consistently until then. Just glad he is ok for starters!

I'm not putting Kane in my team and have a midfield of Bruno, Rashford, Sa, Martinelli and Enzo.

Mac is about the pens, which he won't get near at Liverpool.
Brighton were an attacking beast last year and he only had 2 assists all season.

Aye, he's only 6m, I'll take a chance on him doing more for them from open play with better players in front of him.

My team is locked. Just need one last decision: which two of Rashy, Bruno & Son?

Currently on Rashy and Son.
Head says Rashy and Bruno.
Gut says Bruno and Son.

Dropping one of Rashy or Son to Bruno will also allow me to upgrade Jackson to Watkins.

No city mid?

Nah. Considered Foden but can't be arsed with Pep Roulette.

Team below:

Onana
Chilwell, Gabriel, Estu
Son, Rashy, Martinelli, Saka, Mitoma
Haaland, Jackson

Subs: Areola, Adebayo, Kabore, Beyer

0.5 in the bank.

Looks very good. Chilwell is starter in Celski?
I have Foden. City just have too good schedule to not have one City mid. I will never learn i guess (about Pep's roulette).

Alisson
Trippier - Schar - Saliba - Gabriel
Saka - Douglas Luiz - Almiron
Gakpo - Haaland - Watkins
____________________________
Leno - Mee - Mbeumo - Ramsey
I don't know what I'm doing and can't be bothered to think about it too much.

Are you saving 20m in the bank? Crazy team.

I can't see the appeal of Son. Struggled most of last season, knocking on a bit, new manager, Kane potentially leaving. No doubt he'll end up having an absolute stormer now but at the moment I'm not seeing it. I'd rather Bruno and Rashford.

Just 1m left, actually. I thought about putting Foden in for Mbeumo, but nah, too unreliable starter. Might switch out Ramsey for Mitoma before next week, as Ramsey is injured, apparently. Unless I forget.

We will see how it goes.

Everyone seeing this. Maybe I should re-think and replace him with Bruno, allowing Jackson to go up to Twatkins.

That goal is a snapshot of why I think the United defence is slightly overrated going into the new season. With a wildly different style of goalkeeper there will inevitably be teething problems.

Added to the fact that we were lucky to get as many clean sheets as we did last season anyway and I wouldn't be particularly surprised if we concede the odd goal in even the easier of our opening fixtures.

Also while Onana should do well for bonus points, I wonder how many saves he'll have to make. You may see fewer shot but the ones we do concede are high value ones.

It’s imposible to judge much on a pre-season game but by the looks of today, I get the feeling that Bruno is going to be the player who assists the assister and I might drop him out of my team.

Rashford will probably be the one to stay for me as he will be the one latching on to the balls across to the left side of the pitch.

I’m also toying with the idea now that I want Salah in my team as well so I’m probably back to the drawing board anyway

I have Son for the sane reasons as others, was carrying an injury last season, Spurs will be attacking etc.

How has he got on in pre season? Any goals?

I've also gone Bowen as well as feel he will return to form

Spurs have only had 1 proper pre/season game v West Ham, another game was called off then they played Lion City.

They play Shakhtar tomorrow then Barcelona on Monday. Son missed the West Ham game as he was only coming back.

It’s hard to know how they’ll play. If Kane is on his way Richarlison at £7m could be worth it.

Think with Man Utd attackers I’m only starting with Rashford.

Raul Jiminez started and scored for Fulham today. He’s been off it since his injury but if he replaces Mitrovic’s goals from last season he’s worth it at £5.5m.

I think my current draft is fairly template by the looks of it

Onana
Stones - Estupinan - Gabriel
Mitoma - Mbeumo - Bruno F - Rashford - Saka
Haaland - Watkins

subs: Macey, Chilwell, Colwill, Mubama

Some good value in the 6.5mill bracket midfield this season, hopefully Mbeumos knock isn’t too bad. Abstaining from Trent as his price is feckin mental, and I think I can make it up elsewhere.

also toying with the idea of going Flekken and Steele so I can rotate. Opens up a Chilwell to Shaw if Chilwell is made of glass again this season.

hopefully Colwill keeps his place, looks Like Diassi is more a right sided CB, Chelsea have a nice set of fixtures after GW2

will see with the 8mill striker situation as well, probably the available Chelsea striker at the time. As backup will see how Darwin/Gakpo and Wilson/Isak go if Watkins doesn’t hit the ground running. Other than that I’m fairly happy!

Arsen't Chelsea buying another expensive defender? Going to be carnage knowing who will play there.
If Nketiah plays tomorrow and looks remotely decent I will probably go very similar to your lineup, with TAA and Nketiah in there.

So will Kudos make Pedro/Mitoma lesser choices?

I think Kudus will compete with March. He has history on the right and March fell out of favor at the end of last season and hasn’t really featured too much in pre-season.

Not sure! Not seen much linked, seems to be all about that vital DM midfielder. But for LCB it will be him and Badiashile anyway when is back. Think he may get the nod for the period Chelsea have a good run anyway. If not it’s a simple swap anyway.

As i see so far; Caf fantasy section doesn't like James and Kdb this year.
KDB is still not fit and I don’t think it’s wise to spend 1/4 of your budget on just 2 players albeit they are from the best team in the league.
