What about Havertz and Trossard? Surely they start over Nketiah? Or at least it’s rotation and Nketiah isn’t nailed like last year to start.

Havertz you imagine starts with Odey, with Rice behind.
Does Tross ever play up front? Or does Martinelli get moved central?
Fantasy scout reckon irs Nketiah so will have to see if any clues before that.

Struggling to see the appeal really. United one of the few teams with several decent nailed on outfield players (Shaw, Rash, Bruno). Wasting a spot on the goalie is a bit pointless.

The thinking is that he'll rack up a lot of bonus points for his extreme pass efficiency and dribbles.
While being a cheaper way into United than Shaw.

Is Shaw going to be worth the £0.5m over Onana is the question? So obviously they will score the same amount of clean sheets. We know Shaw is a BPS monster and I think we're expecting Onana to do quite well on that front as well aren't we. How many goals and assists can we realistically expect from Shaw this season? He's never had more than 5 assists in a season and never topped 1 goal. Gabriel scored 3 in contrast and ended up outscoring him by 20 odd points. So yeah the thinking is that Onana + Gabriel is better than Ramsdale + Shaw and for £0.5m less. Obviously if you want to go for a £4.5m keeper instead then that's a different thing but it does make sense.

Personally I was loving the United defence double up at points last season. It was a great differential and gave me weeks of green arrows. Might be something I look at again.

That defensive double up is interesting but with United's first 3 and not knowing if Bruno or Rashy will storm from the blocks you'd like to cover both.
Double Arsebal mid with their games is another option, especially now Jesus us out.
But then who do you have up front beyond Haaland.

Remember Liverpool had a woeful first half season though, and now TAA plays further forward potentially.
I suppose it's the easiest way into high ceiling Liverpool coverage with Salah being exceptionally difficult to fit in.

With Haaland around, being our captain 90% of the season, a 12.5m player you won't captain feels daft.
They also have an entirely new midfield which might take a while to blend so clean sheets to begin the season might be a rarity.

Botman or Burn for Newcastle? I have both at the moment...

My side is taking shape:

Ramsdale - Areola
Martinez - Estupiñan - Silva - Burn - Botman
Rashford - Ødegaard - Saka - Grealish - Foden
Haaland - Gakpo - McAtee
Surely Onana/Gabriel combo is better than the Ramsdale/Martinez duo cause of more xG and BPS?

As I said earlier in the thread I think it's a good idea to have an £8m slot in there so for me that's Watkins with Jesus out. Nailed and on pens. Decent side, decent season last year and should keep improving. At that price point can jump off to any of the Chelsea, Newcastle, Liverpool strikers and probably Hojlund as well.

Because Ramsdale situation i removed Shaw. Hardest decision so far. I had Ramsdale/ Shaw but now i am going with Onana/Gabriel.

I cannot emphasise enough how bad Ramsdale was for me last season when I had him in. He's on the banned list. Would have a £4.5m gk over that muppet.

Yea, he is overrated. I started the season off with Sanchez/Henderson combo but Steele was amazing last season at 4m. Saving penalties, assists, BPS he had everything. Such a shame he isn't guaranteed starting spot. I would have loved to continue having him in my team.

Double Brighton defence gave me unreal points at the end of last season.

Been out of the loop. Any specific reason for the Foden love? Usually people try to avoid Pep roulette.

So far I have gone for.

Onana
Trafford

TAA
Pau

Pinnock
Botman
Tarkowski

Rashford
Saka
Bruno
MacAllister
Eze

Kane

Ferguson
Gakpo

Open to suggestions.

Try again :)

I will have another 173 drafts and still end up with a shit team and give up after 2 weeks.

I'm thinking I should put as many City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea/Newcastle players in as possible. It seems everytime I put a player in the go to shit or get injured.

Gakpo is rotation risk, MacAllister will not add much because he will not take pens like in Brighton and defence lacks players from big clubs.

Just my opinion

Jackson looks great but if Vlahovic is coming, it’s basically a booked in transfer.
Striker options dropping every day. Jesus, Nkunku, Jackson, Gakpo, Nunez, Kane, Mitrovic, Martial. Some are injured, some are rotation risk and some will leave.

This is me trying to jinx as many players as possible.

Damn difficult to stay objective in this game. I used to have a huge block against Ramsey (leading up to and including his purple patch). I refused to pick him because he let me down

You will be fine, just remember its only a game and you play for the entertainment it brings.

Sure, it can drive you mad at times, everyone and i mean everyone goes through dodgy patches in FPL throughout the season.

As they say .. what happens, happens to everyone, what counts is how you deal with it. :)

What is your team value, did you spend the whole 100m ?

I can't wait til Wednesday or Thursday of next week when Mbappe is added to the game causing everybody to rip up their teams. Guaranteed for the site to collapse for 24 hours prior to kick off.

My first day today.

Shocked at the amount of teams with Bruno AND Rashford.

You have been looking at this for weeks and that’s what you come up with?

Ah, I'm not overly invested. I've been in the dodgy patch since I started, which was whenever it was first brought out. Every year I pick a team and just kind of forget about it. But at the start I convince myself, this year I'll make the effort. Always just end up picking players who end up shit or get serious injuries, then get fed up after a few weeks when I'm already miles behind everyone.

I must just have bad luck with this, here are just a few examples, VVD when Pickford smashed him, Shaw when he broke his leg, Perreira smashed his ankle. Last year I triple captained Haaland, City smashed 5 or 6 past Bournemouth and he got neither a goal or an assist. Had Cancelo, he ended up leaving City. Toney now banned for betting. This year I had Fofana in my original draft, few days later and he's done for the season. It's got to be some weird voodoo shit.

But yeah, that's a team worth the full 100m right there.

Two players capable of 200 point seasons for 17.5 mil with two teams in disarray at home in their first 3 games?

How much do we buy into pre season form because Rashford has been well off the pace. Still got to think he'll be our main source of goals though come season start so worth the extra £0.5m over Bruno?

Second try:

onana
stones estu Gabriel
Bruno saka rashford foden
Jackson Haaland Darwin

I’m unsure about foden though. Pep and his rotations.

Going by all that jinxing , I suggest filling your team with City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea players :)

The year before, I lost my cash league by 2 points because Robertson scored a very late Liverpool goal, I carried that thought into GW1 last year and picked Kane over Haaland, Kane blanked and Haaland scored twice iirc.

So going into GW1 with feelings of injustice for the season before and then getting wrecked in GW1 I lost my composure and used my wildcard in GW2.

I still finished inside the top 6k.

Just goes to show, we can all lose our **** from time to time and recover.

Pickford
Vigouroux

TAA
Zinchenko
Shaw
Pau

Botman

Rashford
Saka
Bruno
Odegaard
MacAllister

Haaland

Vinicius
Semenyo

Howzabout that then?
Getting better, what's your thinking with MacAllister ?

You can always run your squad through Fantasy Football Hub and see what kind of rating they give you, always worth checking.

Have no idea who to go with as a 2nd striker - Watkins, Nkunku or Jackson?
Nkunku picked up a knee injury last time out, no word on how serious but he's a doubt to play against Liverpool. Villa has a bad run of fixtures to start, 4 away games in the first 6. So I went with Jackson , this week anyway. There's always Darwin and Gatpko if you can figure which one will start.

Newcastle away is the toughest away game they have. Both Chelsea and Liverpool aren’t great defenses and both have their teams overhauled during preseason. Villa away from home were pretty good last year. If Nkunku is injured, then I would pick Watkins, Jackson, Joao Pedro, Nunez, Gakpo in that order.

I thought I was decided and even had my one fun punt in a team that looked good, but went back to it after Jesus/Nkunku news and now have a 4-5-1 with Salah that actually looks great.

Also can get a nice looking setup with some flexibility and de Bruyne. All eyes in the charity shield I guess!!
