I know Botman/Newcastle have got a cnut of an opening 5 games, but I can't do much else. Mings/Pau Torres? Got zilch in the bank.

This is good. Only two things; i would not go with Botman (especially as starter) because their schedule is shit (maybe to find some Arsenal defender?). Martinelli is rotation risk because Trossard is in form.
Edit; Tarkovski is 4.5 and with pretty nice schedule.

That looks quite superb. A front 3 which I've seen no-one else really try and 2 big hitters from 2 big teams with great early fixtures in mid.
Probably like me, the wrestle of can you go without Liverpool.
Plus Botman could lose value before he gets a decent fixture.
Would probably trim a striker to a chump and upgrade mid to be honest. 5 strong mids seems the play this year.
Assuming that mid is a 4.5m you could lose Watkins 8mto a 4.5m then use 2m to bring in either Mitoma or Mbeumo. Then use the other funds to upgrade defence.
Decent. I don't know if it's my Utd bias but it feels like Bruno could be big this year. He's the one that jumps out as missing.
So now both Nkunku and Jesus are probably injured for the first matches? If so, the thinking beging… again

Arsenal and City lineups in the CS now crucial. Gonna be very tempted by Trossard if he starts ahead of Nketiah and also will be watching Martinelli and Foden.
I think it's mad to start with an injured player personally. Big chance he'll drop in price as well.
I am surprised how people avoid Foden. Excellent schedule, Mahrez is gone and he is a goal threat.
He still plays mostly on the same side as Grealish who was preferred last year. Bernardo still there and likely to play on right I'd say.
Poch is not panicking regarding him. So maybe the best would be to wait on deadline.
Yes the pricedrop is a good point. Maybe go for Jackson then?

Think a Liverpool attacker will be wise. But no one seems nailed except Salah. May go for Gakpo too...
I think Diaz is the one to keep an eye on. Good price and if he can stay fit, he's potentially the next locked in to start after Salah.

Thank you for your response, but I think I will still keep both Ederson and Enciso. I think that it is very important to have some nailed players from City and Ederson is surely one of them. Furthermore, I will only change him for Onana, but it isn’t worth losing Shaw, Bruno or Rashford to replace Ederson who is already in a very good team.
As for Enciso, in regard to his performances at the end of the last season I can see that he will be given a chance at #10 as MacAllister’s replacement. I don’t see any new signing blocking that path - Dahoud is playing a deeper role, Milner also and Joao Pedro, despite his price tag should be an option more at LW or CF than SS position, although they can start him there.
But with the recent injury to Jesus I will make some changes, most probably it will be: Colwill, Stones/James, Jackson, Nketiah for Baldock, Ake, Jesus, Wissa. What’s your thoughts on that, James or Stones ?
Yeh tempting. I'm hoping that this whole new midfield experiment fails miserably so will wait and see on 'pool.

The 3-stiker strategy is looking less enticing by the day.
I've tried doing a team with both Salah and Haaland, not looking that terrible to be fair:
Onana (Areola)
Estupinan Tarkowski Botman (Baldock Beyer)
Salah Bruno Saka Eze Mitoma
Haaland Watkins (4.5)
Lack of flexibility is concerning but I can pretty much go from Salah and one of the cheap guys to two good players with -4 or 2 FTs.

He's affordable, plays in a good team under a very good manager and is decent for assists. No brainer.
Wondering about Foden or Diaz (both 7.5m)
My Liverpool fan mate is raving about Diaz, reckons he and Salah are the two nailed-on starters on the wings and then it'll be Nunez, Gakpo, Jota rotation options.
Foden in theory should get better and better at his age though, surely.

Mahrez going reduces the likelihood of getting fecked by Pep too, surely?
Yeah it will likely be Salah, Gakpo and Diaz up front unless Darwin suddenly turns into something he hasn't been. Gakpo grew into a fantastic false 9 during our good run in the last 10 games of last season. Darwin will have to do something outstanding to displace him.

I hate going without Salah but struggling to fit him in. For me it's either

Crap. The Nkunku and Jesus injuries throws a wrench in my plans. Martinelli and Jackson are more realistic options now.

Nkunku injury is annoying. Was very confident he was going to hit the ground running and I could get some early points before everyone got him in. Not sure if I trust Jackson as much despite him looking very impressive in pre-season. Don't like any of the other strikers really.
