I feel like a lot of people are overlooking Ferguson at Brighton.

With the rumours of Undav going to Stuttgart, I do agree. Brighton just seemed to have an annoying amount of rotation by the latter half of last season.
You'd think their front 4 would consist of:

March Enciso Mitoma
Ferguson

Then you got the likes of Welbeck, Buonanotte and this new Adringa guy has rotations.

Edit: Forgot about Joao Pedro.

Damn Jesus out and Nkunku doubt.

I had both in my draft. Not sure who to get instead.

Watkins? Jackson? Solanke?

I would consider two of Jackson/Nketiah/Welbeck/Joao Pedro. Maybe try Nketiah and one of Brighton's assets in the first two gameweeks, then Jackson (or Nkunku if fit) after GW3 if that helps.

Latest Draft with no money ITB:

Flekken
Gabriel - Estupinian - Ake
Foden - Rashford - Saka - Son - Mitoma
Haaland - Jesus

Subs: Forster, Chilwell, Baldock, Mubamba

I want to replace maybe Foden with Diaby or Jackson cause the latter is more nailed on and Flekken to Onana cause he has been terrible in preseason.
Updated draft:

Onana
Gabriel - Estupinan - Ake
Rashford - Saka - Son - Mitoma
Haaland - Jesus - Jackson

Subs: Forster, Chilwell, Baldock, Nakamba
Updated again:

Onana
Gabriel - Estupinan - Ake
Martinelli - Rashford - Saka - Son - Mitoma
Haaland - Jackson

Subs: Forster, Chilwell, Baldock, Nakamba

Ake very risky. He gets rotated a lot. Has City also not signed another defender too?

Although with such a good backup in Chilwell it might not be a disaster if he is benched at times.

I do not trust Nketiah starting and certainly not a long term pick although he is very cheap.

Jackson can work so might go him. Just worry that long term he gets benched while with Nkunku is the main man.

Feels like Watkins is the only one you can trust to be nailed and play a lot from the expensive strikers 7-8 million.

Solanke fixtures just too bad. I think they can be bottom 3 after the first 5-7 games.

Have there ever been so few good striker options.

In a draft league with 10 player it will be such a big advantage to the one with Haaland if he plays all season.

Jackson looks great but if Vlahovic is coming, it’s basically a booked in transfer.

Changing my team daily at the moment. Think I need to try and squeeze in Salah for that Bournemouth fixture. My only concern with this starting 11 is Pedro.

Pickford

Shaw
Estupinan
Botman
Gabriel

Salah
Saka
Odegaard
Bruno

Haaland
Perdo

Areola
Beyer
Elanga
Adebayo

Nketiah is a tempting choice given their starting schedule and his positive preseason performances, but also his price that can give you some flexibility if something goes wrong in the first gameweeks.

But yeah, all recommendations I wrote are rotation risky and can be considered as high risk-high reward choices. For example, Brighton have favourable fixtures and it should be Welbeck who should start according to what I saw in the preseason, but then again they have Joao Pedro and Ferguson as really strong options.

Jackson on another hand is having tricky fixtures til GW3 and by that time Nkunku can be fully fit (although they can both play together) and/or they can sign Vlahović as today's report suggests. I think I will risk with Nketiah and Welbeck in the first two/three rounds or at least until Jesus is fit.

Onana (Areola)

Estupinian, Trippier, Chilwell (Colwill)

Mitoma, Saka, Bruno, Rashford, Foden

Haaland, Jackson (Archer)

^ I want to probably get Hojlund in  I'm just a sucker.

Feels odd to not have a Liverpool cover too.

I spend a day not on here and Gabbo Jesus is out.
That's a big gamechanger that is, as you just know he'd have been in a tonneload of teams.

I'm almost wondering if TAA, strong mid 5 and single striker is the play now.

Might think of a mid 5 of Martinelli, Saka, Rashy, Bruno, then toss a coin for Mitoma v Mbeumbo. With Mitoma playing Luton potentially swinging it.

Then can go TAA, Shaw, Gabriel, Esto probably, with maybe 4m Bell defence.

Current draft:

Onana, Areola

James, Gabriel, Wan Bissaka, Digne, Baldock

Salah, Foden, Saka, Mitoma, Gibbs-White

Haaland, João Pedro, Jackson

Thoughts, guys?

I don't like having United attackers, because I don't want to be watching games wanting certain players to score - but of course I'm happy to have the GK/defenders (who doesn't want a clean sheet for their team)

I had Trent in, but I just think he's overpriced. For that price, he should be the Haaland of defenders... But Ben White got the same amount of points as him last season, and he's £5.5m.

Jesus to Nketiah for now then, until we hear anything that suggests he's not starting the next 2 or 3.
But at 5.5m leading Arsenal's lineup in 3 great fixtures it could be quality.

Remember Liverpool had a woeful first half season though, and now TAA plays further forward potentially.
I suppose it's the easiest way into high ceiling Liverpool coverage with Salah being exceptionally difficult to fit in.

With Haaland around, being our captain 90% of the season, a 12.5m player you won't captain feels daft.

Interesting take, regarding Salah. I've not thought of that. I guess the trick will be determining which of them to captain each GW.

In regards to Trent, I know a push into midfield has been mentioned (and he played there for England) but he's been playing RB in pre-season so I'm not sure if that's actually happening.

Gusto at 4m is looking to be a fecking bargain if James fitness record is going to be anything like last seasons.

What about Havertz and Trossard? Surely they start over Nketiah? Or at least it’s rotation and Nketiah isn’t nailed like last year to start.

Any ideas on how to cover City defense otherwise? I don’t want Ederson. So is it down to Stones or Dias?

Have spent the first week of my holiday sorting my team out. Anybody who is willing to give any feedback/recommendations would be greatly appreciate:
Onana/Areola (likely to change Areola if he becomes the clear number to as he is likely to drop to £3.9m)

Gabriel/Estupiñan/Stones/Botman/Bell

Saka/Mitoma/Rashford/Bruno/Smith-Rowe

Haaland/Nuñez/Mitrovic (again, exceedingly likely to change if he gets his move or if he refuses to play but the rumours appear to have died down and he is available to pick. Had initially gone for Nkunku and decided on a possible differential based on the first GW fixture.)

I was hoping that Onana would be a differental now all FPL youtubers suddenly have him in their team for fecks sake.

It’s not a surprise though as he arrived as an obvious starter for a team that kept the most clean sheets last season.

Still messing about until I've seen the Community Shield. That will decide for me which second attacker I pick from Arsenal and whether I go with Foden or not.

Onana (Areola)
Saliba Stones Tarkowski (Colwill) (Baldock)
Bruno Rashford Saka Odegaard Eze
Watkins Haaland (Mubama)

No idea what to do about Brighton either. Certainly want one of their attackers but they're nearly as bad as City with significantly less upside. Jao Pedro is at a nice price to fit in somewhere.

I think he will be 7.5

7.0 and ill snap him up, 7.5 and i might wait and see

Small margins !

I think I’ll be on the Hojland train when he lands, especially if he lands at £7.5m because he’ll become a direct replacement for Mitrovic in the squad that I’ve posted above.

I’ll have the dilemma of dropping another United asset out of Rashford or Bruno but it’s not a terrible place to be in

I'm normally the same r.e. picking out attacking players...except my current draft is...

Ramsdale Areola
TAA Stones Shaw Estupinan 4m
Rashford Bruno Saka Foden Mitoma
Haaland 4.5m 4.5m

Bruno's price and Rashford still as a midfielder is just too tempting!

But might ditch Bruno and Rashford to try and squeeze in Salah.

I also hate having anyone half decent on the bench as I hate starting 11 dilemmas...hence the 4/4.5m dross that I cant remember who I picked :wenger: But should probably ditch Foden too in that case and get a guaranteed starter.

And Ramsdale will also be binned if Arsenal sign Raya obviously.

True but we let in a bunch the games we did let in goals.

I think Onana will get alot of bonus points and i have a feeling that he will get a couple assists, thats why i want him in team.

Aye, focusing on us finishing 1st for clean sheets (which isn't a particularly good measure in statistical terms) obscures the fact that we only had the 8th best defence in the league as per xGA. It wouldn't be at all surprising if we return much fewer clean sheets this year even without our defence having got any worse, or even if it gets slightly better.

Also it wouldn't be surprising to me if the big stylistic adjustment from De Gea > Onana meant we were more vulnerable defensively in the opening weeks of the season in particular.

Good points mate, depends how much Mount helps out Casemiro against the better teams or we will go Casemiro and Amrabat if he joins then actually i feel the defence would have more cover infront of them.

With Onana we can get the odd mistake but also more teams will be worried about pressing high against us when Onana is as press resistant you can get as a goalie and have great passing abilites. Guess it can go both ways but i am hoping it will be positive this year. (Lets hope so atleast)

Botman: Im avoiding Newcaslte defence to start. They have a horrible start, Villa, Man City, Liverpool, Brighton.
Smith-Rowe: At £5.5m id avoid. He hasnt been near the first team in ages.
Mitrovic: As you're aware he's maybe on his way. Hasnt played any of pre-season. I'd keep an eye on Fulham's friendly tomorrow and avoid if he's not in the squad/team.
A differential could even be Vinicius at Fulham. Not sure Everton will keep a clean sheet, with Michael keane in defence first game v Fulham.

For £4.5m defenders im considering Villa defenders, Colwill, maybe a downgrade in midfield and go for Chilwell, Chelsea have a great run from GW3 onwards.
Also some unconfirmed talk that John Stones may be injured.

For strikers im considering Watkins. I think Villa will be very attacking next season and he'll get goals. Would go for Diaby at Villa but leaning towards Watkins as he'll be on the end of everything.
You could also lose one of your strikers and go for Martinelli/Foden/Jota (though a rotation risk he finished the season stong when he came back from injury)

Struggling to see the appeal really. United one of the few teams with several decent nailed on outfield players (Shaw, Rash, Bruno). Wasting a spot on the goalie is a bit pointless.

Well looking at stats last season you would not go for 2 united midfield/strikers due to the low amount of goals scored by team. I rather have a Keeper who can hit long balls that can give assist and big potential for bonus points because of his ball playing ability.

Is Shaw going to be worth the £0.5m over Onana is the question? So obviously they will score the same amount of clean sheets. We know Shaw is a BPS monster and I think we're expecting Onana to do quite well on that front as well aren't we. How many goals and assists can we realistically expect from Shaw this season? He's never had more than 5 assists in a season and never topped 1 goal. Gabriel scored 3 in contrast and ended up outscoring him by 20 odd points. So yeah the thinking is that Onana + Gabriel is better than Ramsdale + Shaw and for £0.5m less. Obviously if you want to go for a £4.5m keeper instead then that's a different thing but it does make sense.

Personally I was loving the United defence double up at points last season. It was a great differential and gave me weeks of green arrows. Might be something I look at again.
