Latest Draft with no money ITB:

Flekken
Gabriel - Estupinian - Ake
Foden - Rashford - Saka - Son - Mitoma
Haaland - Jesus

Subs: Forster, Chilwell, Baldock, Mubamba

I want to replace maybe Foden with Diaby or Jackson cause the latter is more nailed on and Flekken to Onana cause he has been terrible in preseason.

Is Ake more nailed than Akanji? I have my doubts so not picking any. (Thinking Gvardiol will come and take one of the spots)

I think if he isn’t injured to start the season he will be more nailed for the left back spot. Even if Gvardiol comes in now I don’t think he starts given he doesn’t know the system.

What are thoughts on Sterling and Darwin? Had poor seasons but surely will improve and potentially excellent value.

Darwin is tempting but a completely new midfield at Liverpool and the fact he'll be rotating with Jota puts me off slightly. There's also Watkins and Jesus who are guaranteed to start and are pens. Nkunku is also tempting but I think he'll be playing behind Jackson.

So far settled on this

Onana (Areola)
Stones, Shaw, Estu (Bell, Beyer)
Saka, Bruno, Maddison, Foden (Mbuemo)
Jackson, Haaland, Darwin

Just question marks on Maddison and Darwin. Are there better alternatives? I could go lower 5m striker with Son instead of Maddison but do not trust Spurs players at the moment.

but why Ake over Akanji? Doesnt Akanji play as much on left back or how? Akanji had most minutes last season if I remember correctly

I thought Akanji played more on the right as a RCB or RB? Also Ake has more of a goal threat than Akanji.

Definitely no Sterling. Either Nkunju if you can afford the extra 0.5 or go Jackson for the same price as Sterling. Too much completion for the Pool forwards. They have 4 players competing for 2 spots for CF and LW.

If Kane stays, Son is a better pick and a more direct goal threat. If Kane leaves then Richarlison is a better pick cause he will be a midfielder playing as a #9.

Bruno and Rashford double up what we think? Fun having our picks if going well not so much if we suck.

The good thing I think they start every game unlike many other picks.

If I go Foden instead I will likely sell him quickly if benched.

Jesus aint on pens.

Waiting to see if I make any minor changes, perhaps Höylund unless he costs a fortune... Hoping Brighton doesn't have a crappy season since I've got three from them

Onana - Leno
Henry - Estupinan - TAA - Trippier - P.Torres
Ödegaard - Mbeumo - Mitoma - Rashford - Diaby
João Pedro - Haaland - Cunha

You better hope Trippier starts well cause with his fixtures, if he doesn’t perform well and if people find a good 4.5 or 5.0 defender performing well, his price will drop pretty quickly.

It’s a thinker because subs won’t save you from that Brighton rotation. All those lads will be coming on at some stage, which could potentially be very annoying.

I think that’s true for a lot now with 5 subs. Guys like Foden become higher risk and the bench offers less protection because there is a higher chance of players coming on. Pep doesn’t do it as much, but most teams picks will inevitably appear for their 1 pointer at some stage.

Team so far :
Ramsdale - Areola
Estu - Shaw - Trippier - Gabriel - Stones
Saka - Bruno - Mitoma - Rashford - Enzo
Haaland - Nkunku - Archer

No money in the bank. Thinking about Ramsdale if they buy Raya.
Maybe to Pickford and then Nkunku to Jesus.

This is not too dissimilar to my team:

Onana
Gabriel, Estupinian, Chilwell
Rashford, Saka, Son, Mitoma
Haaland, Jesus, Nkunku

Subs: Areola, Botman, Beyer, Nakamba

Although thinking if Rashy or Bruno (+0.5) is the better option? Bruno as captain and with the new stoppage time rules plus being on penalties might be a better option and the 0.5 would mean I don't have to make early moves in case of price rises... Thoughts?

I would look at other 4.5 options cause realistically Newcastle defenders aren’t playable till week 5 and beyond. If they start bad, people WILL drop them and move to other players meaning with the high ownership Botman has he will drop in price.

Defense is wayyyy too expensive for my liking. Drop one of them to upgrade Enzo.

Yeah, it's prices for all those damn Brighton players that's so appealing... three good starters for a minimal amount of money... gotta sit down and see what I can do once the season draws closer

Saliba - Schar - Ake - Pau - Estup

FPL Review due to launch today, which may prompt some shift in the template teams you see online from the big FPL accounts. I'm guessing it will be particularly pro heavy investment in City's defence.

I don't see Salah + Haaland anywhere. I'm just going for that double. It can either be a differential or it can be a flop.

I’m increasingly considering getting off the Rasford train for now and taking a punt with Sancho or Antony and upgrading Mitoma to Foden and Jackson to Watkins Rasmus or even Darwin. A lot of players will have money tied up in Rashford and a cheaper player or two but he has been a little sluggish so far and tapered off at the end of last season. Mitoma does still look like excellent value though so I’m stuck deciding what to do with him.

One other thing is Onana at 5 is the cheapest way into the Utd defence. Shaw at 5.5 didn’t really pull up any trees in an attacking sense last season. I think I could set and forget him. Pickford surely is the pick of the 4.5 bunch this year. Guaranteed starter with no competition and a new manager bounce. He’ll probably be getting lots of save points.

Current draft

Onana - Areola
Estu-Stones-Gabriel- Chilwell- Bell
Bruno- Rashford- Saka-Martinelli- Mitoma
Haaland - Jackson - Osula

Yeah Botman will be any 4.5 once I settle on one. Maybe "Pau! Right in the kisser!"
