Not sure I get the logic of it not being a good move to have a FH this week if you have a WC?
I have WC left, and i'm not saddled with players I don't want beyond tonight.
This was my strategy.
I saw that the blank had no real stand out fixtures, like a City Vs Newcastle situation. The only real "premium" team playing is Spurs. Maybe Leeds as well.
I know I say "most people" and generalise but I assume many people had some combination of the below:
Kane, Son, Martinez, Dallas, Bamford, Raphinha, Antonio and Watkins.
If you look at GW30, the three EASILY stand out fixtures belong to Leeds, Spurs and Chelsea.
As Spurs and Leeds play GW29 and then have the best fixtures GW30, it made sense to load up on them leading into 29.
I made sure I had Son, Kane, Bamford and Dallas (and Struijk unfortunately). I just needed to ensure I had a few extra players plus two transfers. So in my case, Martinez, Traore and Antonio were already in my team. I reckon a lot of people have Martinez and Antonio or Watkins.
That's most of the dangerous GW29 players covered and you're in a good place for GW30 due to the load up on Spurs and Leeds.
After GW30, drop Villa and Leeds as their fixtures turn. The new must have players will be from Chelsea, Wolves and Liverpool. Perfect time to wild card into a new template to see out the season.
Then if I had free hit, I'll play it most likely GW33 as I want Spurs and City coverage but don't want that much value on the bench that week. Also, because I'm using WC on GW31, I want to have bench fodder.
I hope that makes sense. I bet it doesn't
