Fantasy Premier League 20/21

Which 2 players are different, out of interest?

Right now I have Lacazette instead of Trossard and I captained Kane. I have Dunk but he's on my bench , stating Dallas.

You got me thinking about Trossard though.

Probably going with this. Resisting triple BHA defense.

So I've talked myself out of bringing in Auba. And talked myself into Dunk (doubling up on Brighton defence). Still 3 hours to go. Probably end up going full circle on some of these decisions.

Pretty much identical. Players I think we have due to peer pressure but will fail are Auba Antonio Bale and possibly Creswell as Arsenal don't concede many set pieces.

I think Tierney is the only defender who would rival the Dallas-Creswell-Dunk trio.
He's edged out for me, because Cresswell is amazingly the current top points scoring defender, and that West Ham are home and tasty there.

Auba-Bale and Antonio all have high ceilings. They may score 1-2 points each, but you have to cover the risk, especially with a FH.

Bamford is squeezed out, but Raphina covers the Leeds angle.
And Martinez can be a points animal, but when you select Kane as captain, you have to back Tottenham to score really, and go Brighton double cleany. That alone is fraught with a single moment risk to kill their cleany, but that looks to be the fixture of most clean sheet promise.

After Spurs’ balls up last night, I think only Everton and Villa are guaranteed a further double before the end of the season. Might be slimmer pickings than expected for the TC.

The only chance Spurs don't have a double is if their missing fixture is slotted into Week 33 in a midweek pre or post the league cup final.
Seems quite small odds though when there's 9 game weeks left, for it to be put there.

Yeah on paper that makes sense but when you look at stats like Kane having blanked his last 4 away games and Spurs generally looking dogshit it raises questions. Villa defense is strong, won't be surprised if that game is a drab one. Similarly Fulham can easily do Leeds at home or at least keep them out.

I think all y'all that played Free Hit here are crazy

The fixtures aren't exactly sexy
Most people can easily get to 7-9 players with one hit

Good luck to you nutters!

I think I've settled on this FH team:

GKP: Sánchez (Areola)
DEF: Tierney, Dunk, Cresswell (Targett) (Aina)
MID: Aubameyang (c), Raphinha, Bale, Trossard, Lingard
FWD: Bamford, Kane (Antonio)

Thoughts?

Bamford over Antonio is the big decision for me there. The latter has a harder game, but Bamford is coming off an injury, and Leeds haven't scored at all for 3-4 games, and you have Raphina as Leeds attack too.
Leeds have been keeping a few cleanies though, and Dallas pops up with a few attacking scores. He'd probably inch out Tierney for me, but I can see why you'd go that way.

This is not true, especially without Grealish. If you look at their numbers, they concede LOTS of good chances and are just fortunate that Martinez constantly bails them out. This is why Martinez gets so many BPS, because he's constantly making saves. If Spurs truly turn up, they should be able to put a couple past Villa. Of course, that means Spurs shaking off what just happened to them, possibly without the outlet of Son. If Grealish is back, then it's a different ball game.

Are you the guy who constantly uses "most" to generalise. Most people have this player that player etc

People may be able to get to 7-9 players, but it won't be the ideal ones necessarily.
7 v 11 is a big difference too. 8 points difference before those 4 actually do anything.

A 20-30 point difference is fairly significant in tight super leagues.

Plus it depends whether you've built your team for continued strength week 30 on, or just to cover this week.
A lot of us don't want Dallas, Dunk, Cresswell, Auba, Bale etc long term.

Antonio at home to Arsenal or Bamford away at Fulham?

Am going Antonio, because I have Raphina away to Fulham, Bamford came off a knock and Leeds have stopped scoring recently.
Also Antonio always scares the heck out of me when I don't have him!

What exactly is left to save it for though?

Some people think week 33 is a better fit.
But the truth is you can handle getting your team in order for 33 a lot easier than this one.
You'll already have the best players for that week.

Salah to Auba feels like my only option. I don't want to do it but I'm not sure who else in midfield to go for as I already have Son, Lookman and Soucek.

Kane captain is risky, but the problem is, who is a better choice?
Auba would be even riskier, and has been fairly turd most of the season, and Antonio/Watkins/Lingard/Bale "may" hit it big, but probably less chance than going with the league's top scorer.

The problem wasn't getting 7-9 players in this GW. It's how many of those do you want after that? Not to mention those planning ahead got screwed with Son and almost Bamford.

Basically if you have WC left then it's fine going with 8-9 this week and then revamping for the final run but I already used WC and not interested in bringing players in for a BGW which I will have to remove quickly. Pretty much exactly what a Free hit is for.

Very much agree.
The FA Cup quarter final weekend was always the week this was meant for. Straight from the off.
I think I wazzed it away earlier last season and regretted it.

It might not be a high scoring week, but it'll probably be higher than most in my league unless they go for a risky captain choice and it pays off.

I'm really hoping my cup final opponent in another league either missed the Friday deadline, or doesn't use his wildcard, as he's got like 3 players!
I can't imagine he'd miss that there's £100 up for grabs from this one week - but hope he does!!

..am I missing something here? Why wouldn't it work?! Freehit is just as many transfers as you want. Why would bench boost be precluded as an option?
You're only allowed to use one chip per gameweek, so you can't free hit and bench boost in the same gameweek.

I did have Antonio starting over Bamford at one point... And Watkins over both at another point! I'm leaning towards having 2 Leeds attacking assets vs Fulham, over 2 West Ham attacking assists vs Arsenal.

Still an hour and a half to change my mind a few more times though.

Fulham were absolute pony early season, then suddenly became defensive dons, v all bar City last week.

I just can't ditch Watkins, as having had him for half a season you know the little frigger would onion bag one if I took him out now!

Yea fair point... I should just set a team and leave it. The more I think about the more I change my mind.

I have Watkins in my normal team but I've ditched him for my FH. That basically guarantees he'll haul so I'd recommend keeping him!

Haha, best of luck.

I'm gonna sign out now, and I'm hoping when I check my opponent's team post deadline updates that he hasn't either remembered the Friday deadline, or insanely hasn't used his wildcard when he has about 3 players.
£100 to the winner, and still a cool £55 for the loser. It's a damn generous cup!

It's entirely team dependant.

You've convinced yourself to use free hit this week because you've got money riding on it and that's completely reasonable.

From my point of view I've got 6 players that won't play in 33 and with regards to City and Spurs they are players I want to keep for the fixtures either side of it as well.

I don't have any Leicester players. I don't have any Liverpool players either. They have the best fixtures in 33 (along with Villa). Also I can dodge Arsenal v Everton and West Ham v Chelsea.

I think I would be more comfortable using my free hit this week if there was fixture where I could pick a clear winner and load up. They all look very 50/50 to me.

Need to take Pereira out this week I have 2 transfers.

Who is better, Cresswell or Tierney?

feck it. Last minute captain change and GK switch. Raphinha captain. Areola benched. Expect tears later.

I was going to captain Raphinha but I think Fulham are so good defensively that I'd be surprised if there is more than 1 goal in this game.
