I sold both Maguire and Dias on the wildcard. It was two from Rudiger, Azpi, Maguire and Shaw to be benched. In the end, I went all in on Chelsea for the better fixtures and the stingier defence in recent weeks. Rudiger was very cheap and was set for a rise last night, so he was first choice.. Azpi isn't playing for Spain, whilst Maguire and Shaw both have three England matches, so that also influenced me. I will very likely be buying Shaw or Maguire in the next two GWs for Dallas or Dunk. Happy to play them away at Spurs.

Yeah it might work I just do not trust Newcastle. Lascelles is decent in attack so it could be a great call.

I personally never go 3 defenders from the same side, but that is just me. High risk high reward I guess.

Triple defence is a weak spot of mine. Did it for Liverpool this year and last, and Everton too. Happier to do it again now COVID has calmed down and Chelsea are a great option.

I like to spread the risk and fun so 3 players in the same side is rare for me.

Have it with City though since I needed it for my wildcard/bench boost and then never had a reason to abandon them I think.

The main reason I did the reverse move was to get potentially 2 extra fixtures from Son before 33 and I could then bring Bruno back.

The reason I kept Watkins over Bamford in the past was for the extra game too.

Yeah it could be awks. But they do play Leicester away.
Some of the other choices have much more favourable home games.

Luckily we have two weeks to stew on it.

I think both KDB and Gundogan could be rested to be fair.

It depend on how much they play over the international break and how fit they are.

If you have a strong team it is good for you I guess, but they could come from the bench as well.
 
Trossard in for a -4 was my best move this season haha.
Unless he gets a red there is no way it backfires.

Actually getting Bruno or Gundogan probably my best moves in terms of points. Took out Salah with Covid and KDB injured to get them too.
 
Trossard first sub, but to be honest more pleased the Newcastle cleany has gone. Looked like they were never gonna score there!
 
Urgh I had Trossard in my 11 before reading this thread! As long as Brighton keep the clean sheet though I'm not gonna complain.
 
This week has been a nightmare. My 50 point lead diminishing by the game.

Need Auba to not play and Son to come in with a hatty!
 
Chances of Auba, Bale, Lingard or Watkins mysteriously not playing to get Trossy's haul in? :wenger:
 
I captained Dunk and just 13 points off of top 10K but I have a feeling Tottenham may ruin me tomorrow as I only have Kane from Spurs.

Just need Auba not to get sent off!


Otherwise glad Brighton comfortably held that double cleany. Just gutted Trissard 14 pointers it!

Easy with hindsight isn't it.

When one or more of Antonio/Watkins/Lingard/Auba get 2 points tomorrow, I'll think, not playing Trossy at home to Newcastle was madness.

But in reality Brighton are pretty crap in attack and Trossinho has only trousered 3 goals all season.
 
Seems obvious now and I’m not sure how I overlooked it. There’s two blank midweeks with no European football before the end of the season. Villa and Everton will surely double in the first of these, GW32, because there is no reason for them not to. I probably made an error in not having a couple of Villa players on wildcard, even if they do play City and Everton at home. Everton will play Spurs at home and Villa away. There’s no benefit and just some risk in holding this game off until right until the end of the season.

Because the only other vacant slot will be in the possibly shifted run in around GW36 and 37 when Spurs and Soton can play. For Spurs and Soton to not double, they’d have to play in a European midweek, which would be unusual and now unnecessary.

It’s possible the potentially rejigged schedule at the end sees everyone doubling and only Spurs and Soton not blanking too, which would be quite something.
 
Get in. Brighton win and double clean sheet. Sitting on 37 for this gameweek so far.

I get that. Just I personally would have picked Martinez, Veltman, Dunk, Dallas.

Martinez to cover for his high ownership and also have haul potential with many saves.

My friend picked those 4 on a free hit and I think it was a solid pick. He did captain Dunk which I would not have done though over Kane/Auba.

I guess you picked Sanchez and his ceiling is a bit low with few saves exepected. On a free I would probably go for bigger potential personally.

Cresswell is quality too I think and Spurs defender is not terrible either like Reguilon. So there are options to bench Veltman don't get me wrong. I think picking Dunk over him was the right move too.
 
Annoyed I didn't triple up on Brighton defence, left Veltmen on the bench.

I think crelin was saying no DGW in 32 but you may want to double check

My closest work league rival did this.
They first captained a defender that week Stones scored 2 in the double game week, and scored 144 to my 143, which stormed us both up to the top.

Less success since, with Stones and Dias captain fails recently.

12 points for Dunk & Sanchez looks decent so far, as although we've all captained Kane it wouldn't surprise anyone if he did get shut out.

They've left 20 points as 2nd and 3rd sub for Maupay and Trossard though, so I need no fewer than 6 of these 7 - Bellerin, Tierney, Reguillon, Auba, Bale, Watkins and Kane to play!

Bit nervous as surely Bellerin doesn't play for one, having not played for 5 league games. So anyone else missing out, opens up 6 from Maupay coming in.

I did captain TAA over Mane for the double last year. It was when Mane got injured haha so lucky as he was my vice captain. Salah would have been better who I did not have then, but TAA got one clean sheet and one assist I think.

Since then I have never captained a defender I think, but had Digne vice captain last double. Was close to captain him and that would have been gold.

I remember a guy in my league yonks ago captaining Vidic when we had a supreme defence, and he had a double.
Think he scored in at least one game, and ended up with 50 points!

Best ever captain I saw was someone triple captaining Aguero when he scored all 5 in that 5-0 win v Newcastle I think. 75 pointer!
Was bloody 0-0 at half time too.
