Falcao

I find that hard to believe.

Can't see why not. I'm not a professional footballer, I doubt I'd have a place in the first XI of a top-4 Premiership side.

I brag about a lot of stuff, but I also acknowledge my flaws. Even for a totally amateur school-level 5-a-side I'm well below average.

All f his agents get linked to us by default. We should get a commission for their improved deals.

Also can he sign up some midfielders pkease except Ando.

Would people be happy to see Rooney go, and use that money and then some get Falcao? Being brutally honest, I'd be delighted.

Don't know if goal compilations are allowed so I'll spoiler. Can score from anywhere. Absolute goal machine. RVP and him up front :drool:

I wouldn't be delighted. Rooney is English and is still very productive for us. Sometimes I do wonder why his all round game goes to absolute shit at time though.

That's a fair point, perhaps delighted was a bit strong. I'd like us to maintain a strong English core. They are both 27, and I can see Rooney's fitness becoming even more of a problem if we do keep him as he isn't really naturally fit. He mentioned that he can struggle to move the day after a game, and he's picked up a fair few injuries this season. Falcao on the other hand is a machine, and looks like immense athlete as well as a goalscorer.

Those are the only reasons why I think that SAF would go for this deal and get rid of Rooney.

I can see it happening, and if it does then fine. I would make the hypothetical straight swap.

Something about cows in a field and always wanting everyone elses cow.

I want the cow with the amazing abs that I saw on the mails website a few minutes ago. Something tells me that that cow will keep on making top quality milk for longer than the other cow in question :)

I'd be delighted if we got Falcao. That said, if it was to replace Rooney (very unlikely imo), i'd be gutted for days.

"Sense" would mean we buy a couple of central midfielders, which hopefully happens this summer.

Let's be serious, if SAF wants a striker then surely Lewandowski is the candidate.

I'd be delighted if we signed Modric as the primary target AND also signed Lewandowski too. I do feel that there are strong possibilities that Anderson, Nani, Rooney and Chicharito could be heading out of OT although I'd hate for Chicharito to go.

Yep. Those players would be my candidates as well. The first two quite likely, the latter two definite possibilities.

I haven't lasted past the first minute yet. That scissors-kick and the goal against Barcelona are fecking wank worthy.

Falcao > Rooney IMO.

Rooney's first touch is so poor these days. On his day, he is fantastic but so often he plays poorly (yet still gets a goal). I would like to see him finish his career at United as he can play anywhere along the forward line. But I don't see him as indispensable to the team. A marauding front 3 of Falcao, Van Persie and Welbeck is just drool worthy. Both RVP and Welbeck are happy drifting wide. Plenty of pace with Welbeck and Falcao. And plenty of hard work too from our Danny.

Rotate that front 3 with Zaha, Rooney and Chicharito.

Moving to a midfield 3 would also enable us to get the best out of Kagawa; which is much needed. He could play as the most advanced of a 3. We'll probably sign another CM just to solidify that position. Carrick, Cleverley, Kagawa, Anderson, Jones, Giggs + 1 new cm. Maybe De Rossi or Strootman.

Problems solved chaps. So easy.

Falcao is the complete forward in my opinion. If we signed him, it wouldn't be anything other than fantastic.

Vialli was nearing the end of his career at chelsea. You have taken one look at wiki and made an opinion.

When he played he was good and sometimes excellent. He also got far better in his 2nd season.

No. I watched him play for Juventus and Chelsea and formed my opinion. I had a look at Wiki to reaffirm my opinion that he wasn't a particularly great striker. He wasn't very good. That's why when he was available for free that he ended up at Chelsea.

Vialli was an absolute monster at one point for Juventus. He and Alan Shearer were there or there abouts, the two best strikers in the world. Complete forwards. So powerful. Then Vialli's form tailed off quickly. By the time he came to Chelsea he was a good but not great player. There was a lot of doping in Italian football in the 90's and I often wondered if his brief explosion of form was related in someway.

Guillem Balague ✔ @GuillemBalague
After @soccerex and #4Amigos tonight, let's deal with Falcao/MU. But they HAVE paid an advance as they did with de Gea

Now that's just ridiculous. Vialli was nowhere near being in the top 2 or 3 strikers in the world.

I thought that was because Chelsea were paying a king's ransom to foreign players (at least for standards back then). Didn't they get Gullit on a free?

How old is Falcao?

I'd be most upset about losing Chicharito more than anyone from the Rooney, Anderson, Nani, Chicharito list.

They did. A player as good as being made out would have had a little more choice than Chelsea though. We're talking about a player not good enough to go to the 94 World Cup for Italy. This is more than a little off topic though.

1994-5, he was absolutely sensational. I did say his tenure at the top was brief.

Given that he was transferred to Juventus for a world record fee, it's hardly debatable that he was regarded as one of the top players in the world at the time (1992).

no way would i swap rooney for him.

That record was beat by Lentini. He was shit too.

Lentini legendarily suffered a major car crash shortly after signing for Milan and spent a year out with multiple serious injuries. He was never the same player again. Prior to his signing, he was hardly "shit". There's a reason Milan broke the world transfer record for him.

Do we have any worries about the FFP regulations? Will we be within those regulations if we make another big name signing this summer?

I think FFP is mainly based on turnover and revenue, not debt. We'll be perfectly fine.

We pull hundreds of millions of pounds in sponsorship and general club sales. If we disregard the debt for a second, I'd say we could afford to buy four or five Falcaos to be honest.
