Falcao

People saying that he would lack service and would struggle here are talking out of there ass really. He's the best pure striker in the world along with van persie, and Rvp has shown he can play as a number 10 as well as a leading striker. Obviously the signing doesn't make much sense, but if he's available and we have a chance to get him then why not. Having the 2 best strikers in the world can never be a bad thing. Of course if this were to happen, then Rooney would almost certainly go into midfield, on the wing or sold.

Don't think it will happen but one can hope. If we sign a midfielder in addition to him and zaha it would probably be a perfect summer.

As far as Balague goes, it could be possible that we're paying them for a different player or maybe even just regular payments for De Gea and he got misinformed?

I don't give GB as much credit as others, he gets as much wrong as the next person. A couple of years ago he has us down as having signed either Silva or Villa (I forget which) ahead of the summer transfer window and there have been many others that turned out not to be true. So at this point it is entirely possible that he is wrong, but he could be right.

So for me nothing to get excited about yet.

If he does go to Chelsea, I'd be genuinely frightened of a Premier League rival for the first time, er, ever. A front four of Hazard, Mata, Oscar and Falcao would be erection-inducing. If you were a Chelsea fan, of course.

I remember people saying how scary Hazard, Mata, Oscar and Torres was going to be last summer.

And considering Oscar and hazard have had their first seasons their, I'd say they've done pretty well. Imagine them a year on in their development, playing behind arguably the best number 9 in the world?

If you haven't been impressed with that attacking-midfield trio this season, then you haven't been watching them much. Torres is a spent force and will never scale those lofty heights he reached in 2007 - 2009 again.

Falcao is entering his prime, is proven at the top level, and combining him with the aforementioned three is a scary thought for any defence.

Yep. It'd be ridiculous.

Regarding the rumors of him coming here, It'l only work if RVP dropped behind him as the days of playing 2 proper strikers are well gone. And I'd prefer RVP up top with Rooney/Kagawa behind him to Falcao with RVP behind him.

Gianluca Vialli, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Didier Drogba and Gianfranco Zola say hi.

Firstly, Zola wasn't a striker. Vialli made his name at Sampdoria/ Juventus, Hasselbaink was at Leeds/ Atletico before Chelsea.

Drogba is the only one Chelsea brought on from their level when purchased by Chelsea ...

So do Torres and Shevchenko, more recently of course.

If Chelsea get a forward of Falcao's quality and Jose back next year, they'll be right up there.

Plenty of service, not a decent enouogh forward to put the goals away. He'd change that.

As regards Falcao - why do they need to "bring him on"? Looks like he's plenty good enough at hitting the back of the net as it is?

Firstly, read the stipulations of Zen86's post:

If anyone knows how to ruin a top striker, it's Chelsea.

You've completely missed his point. Drogba wasn't a top striker when he arrived from Marseilles, Chelsea developed him into one, albeit he had the potential. The other three were all top players when signed by Chelsea, and all went on to have great careers at Stamford Bridge.

I couldn't have chosen three betters examples to disprove Zen's post if I tried.

Probably, but I'd be more weary of Chelsea getting Mourinho than Falcao. Both could be a bit grim assuming Falcao brings his form into the PL.

Get either of Falcao or Mourinho there coupled with few signings and they'd be gunning for the title next year imo.

Id say City will be spunking as much as possible at Atletico for him aswel as Chelsea.

Youve got Tevez who could be leaving and the chances of Dzeko being kept on for another year seem to be getting slimmer and slimmer.

Falcao
Aguero

pretty scary pair if you ask me.

Definitely shut me up :) My bad...

Put Falcao, a good centre half and a good box-to-box or defensive midfielder behind their front 4 into that Chelsea team, add Mourinho and a couple of utility players that will make it possible to rotate from time to time, and they'll challenge us and be a European force again (without the need to fluke wins).

I prefer Falcao to Aguero, but both are immensely better footballers than me.

If this does happen, which striker is leaving? We can't even accommodate 4 of them now. Would that mean converting Welbeck to a winger? Or would we sell one of Rooney or Hernandez?

We were in for Villa. Didn't SAF come out and basically admit it? He wanted to stay in Spain though.

If Ballague say we've done a deal then it's done.

What's not to believe?

Scored about one in every three. Not the record of a top level striker.

Vialli was nearing the end of his career at chelsea. You have taken one look at wiki and made an opinion.

When he played he was good and sometimes excellent. He also got far better in his 2nd season.
