Probably the worst transfer update ever that has made sky sports news breaking news ticker

Destabilize? By putting in an official bid for him?:lol:

If anything Barca have destabilized Cesc themselves, by opting to consider our offers despite Cesc stating his obvious desire to stay where he is.

I would have thought it was far more destabilizing to poach a 16yr old boy from his hometown club before he even signs a professional contract. Mercilessly tearing him from the only life he had ever known, then forcing him to play talisman and carry your sorry outfit for at least the last 5 years of his time there. All the while enduring ever increasing mediocrity and stagnation amidst a relentless torrent of empty promises. Before finally, dreams shattered upon his realization that arsenal were in fact crap and going nowhere, Arsenal then showed their gratitude by unashamedly complicating his liberation home with extortionate financial demands.

Yes, you may claim he loves your club and enjoyed his time there, but remember it is quite common for impressionable young abductees to become infatuated with their captors, often even sympathizing with their unfortunate predicament. Is he still emotionally traumatized enough to attempt an incomprehensible return to Arsenal? Hope not for his sake, but you never know, you did manage to repeatedly deceive him before with your fraudulent claims of ambition, and some people are simply gluttons for punishment.

 Spot on.

This seems a bit more promising. Not long before the muppets come alive again I think.

So basically he'll be a United player come the end of the window. I jus hope we don't forget about our other targets. I think this is long and draw out because Barca don't need to sell and Cesc obviously is happen to stay. So both parties need to be 'brought' around.

What is the thought process behind that wildly optimistic statement? Did you get that from Moyes' "things are ongoing" which, let's face it, is as non-committal as it gets, it's zero information.

If Barca had told us to piss off why would things be "ongoing"?

We dont piss off because Barca actually want to sell. Neymar will steal a great deal of games from Fabregas. Also, Barca got plenty of midfielders that are in front of him. This is my opinion though.

The new Barca manager is only flying to Barcelona today. This transfer may well be put to bed during his first press conference. Things may only have seemed to be "ongoing" because he has not had a chance to get involved yet. If he demands that Barca keep Cesc then that is that probably.

Who is he Mourinho? Barca directors run the club when it comes to business not the managers. He might have a say but if the money's good his say counts for little.

Its called common sense. We told Chelsea to piss off and they haven't been back since. There's a reason for that.

I'm on an ipad. So ctrl b and I don't really work given there's no control button. And no way to post smileys either to reflect my jovial nature.

Just type it out:

That's a green smiley (remove the spaces).

If you want to italicise something use (again without spaces):

fecks sake. Just saw this

I don't think we'd be wasting our time on him if we knew that he weren't available. We're just trying to bring his price down a little because Barcelona probably want around £40m+ and we're not willing to go that high. I just hope it doesn't drag too long so that another club can join the race, in fact I'm a bit surprised that City or Chelsea haven't so far. Arsenal could also be in for him if they fail in their bid for Suarez as they'll have £40m available.

Why is that? Its not news that Fabregas has been played in positions that may or may not be his preferred position.

.... by a previous manager, bottom line is one a forward, one is a midfielder... they will not cut down each others playing time IMO at all... they are not in direct competition. Everyone saw that Fibreglass will never be a CF

Put to bed like Tito put it to bed? Have a word with yourself, negative speculation is as pointless as all the ridiculously positive speculation.

Personally I'm getting tired of this tedious saga now, I'd prefer to hear nothing about it until Fabregas has signed or we have given up.

That apotheosis post is the best thing about this transfer saga to date. Much like Jeston and Olly's GIF's in the Thiago thread.

Yes the new manager is going to go there and switch the whole ethos at the club. Obviously he has been well scouted and only a fool would break up Xavi Sergio and Ineista. He plays as part of the front 3 now why would that change.

He plays as an attacking midfielder for them, so he has to compete with Pedro, Sanchez, etc. for 1 spot, as the other two are guranteed (Neymar & Messi).

 First off, before I reply, I have to ask... You think in your own words 'The whole ethos at the club' is to play with Fabregas as part of the front 3? Because all I said is that he wouldn't be playing as part of the front 3...

They're wide players. He's not going to be happy or effective playing on the right wing.

Yes, my point is Neymar has taken away his ace card, which was goals from AM, so he cn either play second fiddle, or become main CM (his preferred position) for us , maybe even captain provided he stays injury free

I still find it so strange that all noise them from everyone, but Fabregas himself, is that he is 100% happy at Barcelona and will not consider a move.

Do you work for the Sun. Where did i say that??
