F1 2022 Season

It won’t because there’s a lot of people who don’t care about what’s right, as long as their man wins. All they’ll say is “time to move on, only Hamilton fans care etc”. It’s sad when tribal loyalty trumps caring about the integrity of the sport but that’s often the case.
You are likely right as the profile of F1 fans moves away from the classic sports fans to the tribal neanderthals they are trying (and succeeding) to attract. :)

Impressive. Wonder where it had lodged.

I wonder if they knew the floor was damaged why didn't they jack it up and have a quick check - they normally do for other damage. They must have sensors and all sorts to know. Perhaps it could've been removed. Though they did pit very quickly the first time around thinking it was a puncture and maybe thought another pit stop was a bad idea.

Couldn't have been a fun debrief for Yuki

Just a thought on Zhou accident and looking where it finished.
If the fuel tank had exploded, in the same way Roman's did, not only would Zhou be dead but also some of crowd.
Scary thought.

Even worse with batteries these days though they say they are designed to not do that these days.

Just in case you were looking forward to Austria this weekend.

Sprint race alert.

RB and Ferrari are going to appeal the new TD about flexi floors as their current floor setup will be illegal after the austria GP.

No idea how big an effect it will have on performance in France if their appeal is unsuccessful. But if the TD is upheld we could see increased bouncing in the RB and ferrari cars

they don’t need to release a statement about how not racist they are because their actions are so not racist.
They have dealt with all racism now by not quite firing him but demoting him.

No further comment on racism is ever required. Red Bull have beaten all forms of racism with one statement.

Son's crying, thanks

No worries.

Only in this sport can you cheat and then appeal on the basis that you can’t continue to cheat without it effecting performance.

feck off with the Sprint race bollocks.

If they really need another race to milk more money, make it separate to the qualifying for the main race, and mix it up a bit. Spec cars, with a race that only gives WDC points. Or reverse standings sprint etc etc.

So it will be illegal for France, so the question is are the FIA just tightening up the rules because RB and Ferrari twisted the rules to their own advantage, not saying broke, because that would say they were cheating, when other team followed the rules more closely.

Sprint race this weekend, I hate them , dont see what they bring to the table.
It would not shock me, if we found this was a Netflix DTS idea, all it brings in more TV time, qualifying at 4pm on a Friday is just fecking stupid, most of their target audience will be still at work.

The most annoying thing about sprint race weekends is qualifying on a friday afternoon? wtf? most of Europe will still be at work while it happens. What a waste.

I think FIA are tighting up the legislation on an area where it was open to some dubious interpretation. The fact that only RB and Ferrari have exploited this loophole suggests one copies the other and obviously kept it hush hush.

Interesting vid, so are RB and Ferrari, let say bending the rules to the extreme with breaking them.
I think it's getting a bit ridiculous now, changing the rules as the season has gone on, this is a more of an end of season change and is not a good look for FIA after the 2nd stay debacle at Canada.

Isn’t more of a reinforcing of the rules than a changing of the rules

The more they meddle the bigger the chance that the season turns in to a 1 horse procession and would end up with more seasons with asterisks over them.

Quite the opposite i would say, they’ve had little governance in the rules prior and meant the opportunity to close the gap would take seasons rather than races. The new directives gives a window of opportunity for in season changes to at least keep the chance of close, which in turn should improve the spectacle.

Slow down the teams that are abusing loopholes and bring the pack closer? yes please.

Where is the fun in watching Verstappen drive off into the distance at 1second a lap faster than everybody else?

Put him back within touching distance and let the boys really show their skills. Silverstone was amazing because everybody had a chance.

Exactly this. Meddle away FIA. Anything that brings the pack closer togther.
