F1 2021 Season

Classy of Lewis, he ain't retiring, he loves this more than Alonso and Schumacher.... while staying in a fast car. But Max and Russell nipping at him in his own team next year, taking it to another level. All you need is a Rosberg one year comeback in a fast car.

Wow.

Unquestionably the deserved winner over the course of the season though.

Don’t know why people keep saying Hamilton is a prick, he’s matured loads. Maybe the same will happen with Verstappen one day but for now there is only one of them who is an utter bellend.

Yeah he seems like a top bloke and I really don’t know why so many people seem to hate him. Apart from, you know.

In terms of the FIA, never attribute to maliciousness what can be put down to incompetence.

Masi is totally out of his depth. There has been absolutely awful decisions both ways this year
Yeah seems like he’s winging it at times. The same goes for the general steward calls.

Not a Red Bull or Max fan but cheered like feck.

Nothing better than seeing the Hamilton biased fanboys on here crying.

YAAAASSS
I mean that's just quite sad though. Getting aroused on seeing people upset is not a great quality to have.

Most of the time, yes. But all lapped cars get let through, not just the ones between the top 2, as far as I'm aware that has never happened before. Had they let through all of them, they wouldn't have got far enough ahead of the safety car to restart the race so the final lap would have been behind the safety car which wouldn't do so Masi bent the rules to give Verstappen that chance. That's the issue.
It does feel like WWE levels of set up this.

@Jerch @Massive Spanner @ArjenIsM3 @altodevil right now be like...

I don’t even like Max, or anyone really, I just wanted someone else to win, like when I watch any sport I have a mostly passing interest in.

Class interview from Lewis, turned it off after than , I cant stomach Horner.
Max I dont actually mind, think he is a very good driver and will win quite a few WC, just wish he had not own his first one this way !

I honestly still don't get what happened. Was the FIA's decision a correct one?

Well, I haven't really been following F1 for years now but it definitely used to be the norm to let lapped cars through. It's more than a little odd that in the end only five were allowed, I'll give you that.

Wholeheartedly agree about the 'too much off track shite'.

Yeah that's the problem, they clearly changed the rule on the fly. That should never be the right decision, it's a joke how it's allowed.

And people wonder why F1 doesn't grow. People like myself who want to love it, just repeatedly gets put off by all this bullshit. It's not even about the drivers, that's the confusing thing.

I don't know how anyone can actually support a team or driver in this sport. It's just so corrupt and driven from off track decisions.

Nice to see Hamilton congratulate Max though. For neutrals, after all the drama that was nice to see. Hopefully Max can show some humility too.

If FIA wanted racing then let Lewis pit and have the same tyre and race, not in a handicapped like this .

Michael Masi is an idiot.

It was never a "race" at the end due to the tyre situation. Was always a walk over for max..the entire 57 laps before hand was a race. Stuff happened. Lap 58, was anything but racing.

what a shit way to win it. forever knowing your championship was handed to you on a plate  max is the luckiest man on planet earth

Joke of a finish.

Out of interest why wasn't every car that was lapped not required to go passed the safety car, but only the ones between Max and Hamilton?

I'm assuming because all the other cars overtaking would be completely irrelevant to the race, and there was only one lap left. Wouldn't have been time to let all of it play out under the SC

I just can’t see how allowing just those 5 cars to unlap themselves is fair or upholds the actual rules. It seems part of the rules were picked to give us this final bit of drama, which only had one outcome.

Fair play to Max, he’s been brilliant and RB took their chances and played a key role in him winning.

If Masi has a job next year..........well actually he will probably have a promotion.
