This has shown the excitement reverse grid races could bring imagine both Max and Lewis charging through a field
If he didn’t have the 5 place penalty, I’d fancy him for the win. It’ll all depend on where Lewis is after 3-4 laps I think, if he can make up 4 places quickly, he’s got an amazing chance
I quite enjoyed it
To be fair there was no reason for Norris to try and stop him passing him as his grid penalty will put him behind Norris come tomorrow. What an overtake by Lewis
Also depends how hard he rode his tyres, and whether we get some rain too...
Can't speak for yourself, but merc fans will probably love it, but would be going ape if Honer said it
Do they start on the same tyres?
I missed that. What was it?I quite enjoyed it
Provided he doesn’t get stuck in a DRS train there isn’t a single car that can defend that straight line speed with DRS now he’s figured out not to get too close and stuck in turbulent air the last corner. If bottas stays first and keeps verstappen behind him Lewis can definitely win this race.If he didn’t have the 5 place penalty, I’d fancy him for the win. Told him not to touch anybody else's car.I missed that. What was it?
Needs Bottas to hold Max up for as many laps as possible. If he can do it for 10 and Lewis get to 5th, he'll have a shot. What a drive from Lewis, he would have won this with ease.
Starting from 10th not ruling out a Lewis win.
I think that they do? Happy for someone to correct me!
Had the stewards already called the rear wing in for inspection BEFORE Max fingered it?Reminded Hamilton not to touch anyone else's car

Of course not that was directly after Qualifying.Had the stewards already called the rear wing in for inspection BEFORE Max fingered it?
The reason I asked (and thanks for so politely putting up with my clearly stupid questions) is there a suggestion that Max was simply trying to bring it to stewards attention.Of course not that was directly after Qualifying.
Yes his car is going to be far superior to a lot of the grid, but take nothing away from Hamilton there. What a drive that was. Ominous form heading into tomorrow if he can replicate anything even close to that.
Ha ha! Thanks, I missed that.Reminded Hamilton not to touch anyone else's car
I believe the plan is to keep it at the start but to potentially get rid if it moving forwards depending on results ...Is DRS still on the cars next year with the new regs?
It would be great if it wasn't and the cars could just naturally pass each other easier. On this track, in particular, DRS makes overtaking look so manufactured
Or Bottas surprise us and capitulate to Max at the first opportunity.Needs Bottas to hold Max up for as many laps as possible. If he can do it for 10 and Lewis get to 5th, he'll have a shot.
That's if Bottas doesn't surprise us all and go win it
"Surprise"Or Bottas surprise us and capitulate to Max at the first opportunity.
Ferrari aren't slow down the straights anymore. Look at how Perez struggled with Sainz while he had no DRS.The key for Hamilton is getting past the Aston’s, Alpha Tauri’s, and McClarens ASAP. He has a significant straight line advantage over the Ferrari’s I think so he should be in a good position to pass those, but tomorrow when he also has to think about tyre management, if he gets stuck in a DRS train with those guys that’ll potentially be a problem.
Apparently Adrian Newey spoke to the stewards minutes before they went to check Lewis's DRS. Mercedes were saying that Max may have altered the DRS by messing with it but the stewards wouldn't accept that. The reason I asked (and thanks for so politely putting up with my clearly stupid questions) is there a suggestion that Max was simply trying to bring it to stewards attention.
(though I'd have thought such things would be checked regardless?)
And it is not always going to be on a circuit were you can overtake either. Not so sure about that. In most reverse grid sprints the ones at the back aren't going to have brand new engines and ridiculous speed advantages.
Imagine a reverse grid sprint at Monaco... that could be truly terribleAnd it is not always going to be on a circuit were you can overtake either.

Horner is such an unlikable, miserable bast@rd.Hamilton was 27kph quicker than Lando on that straight…unreal! Horner basically saying whatever change they’ve made since Turkey they’re cheating…
