Will be gutted if this happens
Daniel Taylor saying it is pretty close now too.
Resigned to him leaving now.
Will be sad.
seems to be no mention at all of vidal been anything to do with this deal....If it assists in bringing us Vidal, its all good.

I hope Evra's contract renewal only to end up leaving months later, is down to him trying to help the club out. Any interview you ever see with him where he's talking about United, you can feel his genuine love for the club.
Wouldn't surprise me one bit if he signed a contract extension just in case the Shaw deal didn't come off, with the added advantage that the club would get some sale fee compensation if Shaw did come. Then this Juve and Vidal situation has all fallen into place nicely to make his move even more beneficial to the club.
I'll miss Pat if this happens, but if his leaving makes the club stronger, that's a great final contribution.

According to Taylor, Patrice is "asking MUFC if he can go" so by that I'm inferring that Juventus have promised him first-team football whereas obviously we can't now.
Gutted that he doesn't want to stay for the year but if it's his choice then good luck Patrice.
Asamoah is actually a CM, he is just playing out of position for us so a LB is badly needed for us. I think Evra is a good signing for us if it does happen. Experienced player who has won a lot i'm sure he would do well for us if it happened. To have 3 first team defenders leave in one season is unheard of, what a clear out!
I thought with Asamoah, Juve wouldn't need Evra.
I dont see it happening, we gave him one year extension and he should stay for one year in new era to mentor Shaw, If we loos Evra we will have to go for another leftback which wouldnt be a wise move, I hope we wont go for Blind, hes massively overrated neither good as LB nor as CM/CDM for the team of our format..
I would only let Pat go if he is a catalyst for Vidal move. We should still be paying over 40m I guess because Evra isnt worth more than 3-4m (well buttner went for 5-6m who is 17-23times worse than pat so who knows after all)
Imagine Reece James stepping up and being our Seamus Coleman
Why can't you just let me believe he loves the club and everything he does is for the benefit of Manchester United Football Club?He didn't sign an extension. His contract had an extra year which United could choose to activate, he had no choice in whether it was activated or not.
Same clause is in Herrera's and Shaw's contracts. 4 years with the option of one more instead of a straight 5 year contract. It's just a small layer of insurance for the club for big contracts.
grimaldo from barca's B team seemed absolutely terrific... though i am basing this on one game lol and it barca so i dowt they would sell if he highly rated.Well, we'll need to sign another new left back. Any suggestions?
Could be a usefull move to get him as a backup for CB and LB but still no competition to Shaw right in his first season at OT? we need a proper leftback if evra goesEvra will be probably replaced by Vermaelen
Evra-Buttner out
Shaw-Vermaelen in
Dont do it! We need him!
Losing the experience of Vidic, Rio and Evra all in one summer is a bad idea.
Even an average backup would cost £10m in this market.
Im with you on this. His potential contribution in the locker room and on the pitch should be worth more to us than a couple of mil.We always seem to lose these experienced players for next to nothing. O Shea and Wes Brown being recent examples.
If you try and get some unproven Championship player they'd probably cost 8-10m, so why let someone like Evra out for jack

Maldini would have struggled to look good in that abortion of a season. His contribution on the pitch was more costly than beneficial last season. I don't want him anywhere near that pitch! If he helps bring in a Vidal the boy has to go.

Whilst I agree, especially a player of his age being sacrificed for Vidal, if that was to happen, but I think without Champions League games and being able to have more of a break, he would offer more on the pitch taan he has the last few years. He was flogged game after game for too long.

And hence his legs went 2 seasons back to anyone but loyal united fans.

No i have just wiped the part of my memory covering last seasonYour rationalising Evra's own personal horror shows......
He'd do well in either formation. Especially with Barzagli, Chiellini and Bonucci at the back when he goes forward and jogs back. Not sure that will be as acceptable considering how energetic Lichsteiner is on the other flank.Juve will change formation this year, at least in champions league they will try the 433.
They don't have a left back, only Ogbonna (adapted), Chiellini (adapted), De Ceglie (not good enough, on his way out)
They are looking for a LB, and attacking wingers (Iturbe, Nani, Biabiany, Ibarbo)
Nani is currently worth around 10-15m IMO. I rate him far higher than that, but he's done nothing for ages.
Very strange to see people speaking of Evra as if he is still a top left-back. He's several years past his prime and is laughably bad defensively. Will be enthralled if we manage obtain a nice fee for this 33 year old player.
However, if we lose Evra and do not sign any other cover for left-back, then I will be disappointed. I still vehemently maintain that selling Fábio was one of Moyes' biggest errors, a talented young player who was appallingly treated by Moyes, never given even the faintest of chances. I will never forgive Moyes for this.
